Small cozy place located on SW 8th Street. We went for lunch so they had special prices at that time. We ordered la paella, patatas bravas, and tortilla de chorizo. RICE- La Paella was ok. It had lots of seafood for the lunch price but to me I picture paellas as yellowy-orange glistening moist rice. This rice was dry but the flavor was good. POTATOES- I actually liked the potatoes. I didnt get mushy ones. They were fried to perfection. SPANISH OMLETTE- I think it was delicious and the size was perfect. I accompanied it with the potatoes. The worst part of the experience was the service. Perhaps they rely on a European approach where no one is ever rushed, and I am accustomed to the American way of always being in a rush, but the service took forever. Each item was brought out with too much time in between. They actually brough my complete meal first and then they brought the Paella second. So, I had to wait for the 2nd plate to get there in order to start eating. I would definitely go again for a quick bite. read more

I could go back here and try other things. Service was very very slow. A few times we wanted the waitress to order more stuff or bread or somehting,and she was too busy with other tables, I guess. So not happy with service but food was above average. Considering all the Spanish restaurants in Miami, this one is good. It just can't be compared to Xixon, but it would be my next option. Xixon is the best. This is a little cheaper and they have a decent variety of tapas, sandwiches, main courses... I guess the food is hit or miss, depending on what you get. The wine selection is good and affordable. I liked that. We were literally kicked out. They close at 10PM and they want you gone fast, obviously. We tried a Torta de Santiago which was not very good (since it's imported frozen) and right after that, they dropped the check and asked us to leave because they had to clean up. Oh well, I guess I could try this place at a different time. Coffee not good, by the way. Not happy with a few things but I will give the food another try. How this place got good reviews is beyond me. DING that's the noise of the microwave your food is done! Seriously they microwave everything 5 feet away from where you are sitting.. Left over reheated food does not work for me. I ordered a pork tenderloin ENTREE and it was smaller portion than the tapas.. The bland boring looking Chicken was again reheated and could barely be cut through absolutely terrible experience we left here and went somewhere else avoid at all costs. Authentic Spanish cuisine, overseen by Rosa herself (who came out and introduced herself - so sweet.) Food is FRESH (like.. mimics how REAL FOOD in Spain tastes) and juicy. I don't even drink red wine, but since the table made an executive decision to go red, I even polished off a couple glasses. A Spanish friend invite me here, it was great that time, the place serves food from Castilla (capital of Spain) traditional comfort food, owned by Rosa, she is actually all over the place, at the kitchen, etc, lovely lady. This is a small Spanish restaurant on 8 Street, blink and you might miss this golden treasure. The food is to die for. If time allowed I would eat here everyday. They also have a small Spanish market on site so you may take some wonderful yummy treasures home. You must have the Tuna Piquillo which I order everytime I go. It is red peppers stuffed with tuna, a must have. Rosa, the owner and chef is from Spain so the food is truly authentic. Gloria, her daughter, keeps the place operating and sets the ambiance to make you feel at home. They have great daily specials which are very affordable, a fantastic wine selection, and I would be remiss if I didn't mention the very delicious Bonbon. This is an espresso coffee with condensed milk, YUMMY! Very friendly place and great wait staff. I highly recommend. read more

Authentic Spanish cuisine with unaffected Miami service. In other words, spotty. Without a doubt the BEST ham croquettes in Miami done in a bechamel sauce. Our reservation was for 8 PM and our table was ready even though the place was full and people were waiting outside. We ordered the Sangria, Boquerones en vinagre | Anchovies in vinegar, Entremeses (plato de jamón serrano, chorizo, queso manchego y salchichón) | Plate of cured ham, spanish sausage, manchego cheese & dried salami, Pulpo a la Gallega | Octopus w/ hot paprika & olive oil, Sepia a la plancha | Grilled "sepia" (large squid) & garlic, and the Patatas alioli | Boiled potatoes served in a garlic sauce frío o caliente (hot). I've been wanting to try out this restaurant for quite some time, but had never gotten the chance. Thankfully, yesterday, I was in search for a great lunch time meal when I stumbled across Las Tapas de Roas. There were a few other guests visitng, but there was no wait and the service was very quick. I ordered a Gazpacho soup to start and then some scrumptious Bacalao (cod fish) croquettes. Then, I decided to get a little bocado de jamon serrano and mozarella. I think I probably ordered too much, but regardless I was able to take the rest home. It was amazing! The food is not bad, but the service is so bad it has put me in a horrible mood everytime I've gone. The food never comes out at the same time and the staff is not very friendly. Just had lunch there. I had croquetas which were good. My main dish was the seafood paella. There were exactly 2 small shrimp and about 6 calamari in a very dry, tasteless rice. It was awful to put it mildly. This is their Sunday special. For a Spanish restaurant, this is unforgivable. My companions had fish wish was served with french fries. Nothing about the meals were outstanding. The worst part was the service. They take your order and forget you are there. Which I find it hard to do since the place is extremely small. It took us two requests and 35 min to get our check. Not worth the drive or the effort. read more

Had lunch today at this authentic Spanish restaurant. The food was excellent and tasted homemade and comforting. I ordered the cod fish and the Paco sandwich which I shared with a friend. For dessert we shared the Crema de Catalan. The place is small and quaint and felt like being in someone's home. I felt as if I was in Spain. I would highly recommend the place. For the prices on the menu, you can't beat Las Tapas De Rosa. Food is great and staff is super friendly. To get comparable tasting Spanish food you would almost have to go eat in Spain! Granted, the outside decor is generic and the inside is a little too cozy; but if you can overlook those obstacles, then you will enjoy a good meal. This place is a hidden gem with lots of delicious tapas and tasty Sangria. The octopus is served simply but its sabor honors the sea. The croquettes with ham and cod are traditional but good. food - i'm not super familiar with these types of foods (YET - i've only lived in miami 3 months - i'll get better) but it seemed a bit bland. i don't eat pork, so tried the tortilla without. ok - so i'm getting eggs and a bunch of potatoes - which was very very sweet, btw. if they'd just whipped it, it might have turned into potato bread. i also tried the patatas flamencas, which were good (and heavy on the garlic, be warned.) ambiance - it's "cute" - yellow walls, lace curtains, plain wooden tables and chairs, etc. not romantic, not modern, but homey. a good date place when you've been dating a while. but avoid the garlic. sangria - not very alcohol-y at all. on the sweet side, too. at least they used fresh fruit, if a bit sparingly. service - ok, this was great. granted, it was early in the day so they weren't totally packed and could afford us a little more time, but the ladies were all genuinely nice. i went with several people as the last session in a 1st level spanish class (i.e. we talk like 2 year olds in present tense only) and the ladies were really nice about helping us with our spanish. they understood that we were learning, and rather than getting irritated, they actually helped us find the right words. for example, i said i wanted "café sin cafeína" and she kindly said "descafeinado" i wouldn't have known otherwise. lots of other times she was kind enough to help us - and didn't appear flustered or in a hurry. groups - they were fine with 6 of us, but i wouldn't stress them with more than about 8. the place is tiny. free parking lot, though - that's good! i will go back with my boy to see if this is authentic, but really, i don't think it matters. it's nothing super special, but i left happy. read more

Where should I start? I saw the dishwasher more than I saw our server. My dad and brother ordered a few tapas and when I went to tell the server what I wanted she said we ordered enough food and didn't take my order.. I sat staring at the microwave throughout my entire meal so I saw every single mistake as my brother sat right where they open the kitchen door as the dishwashers and cooks would come out to hand the servers the food. When my family finished eating our server came and said "you see it was too much food"... All of us still hungry.
