First time trying these birria tacos that have developed a reputation for tasting amazing. I just had to try them. They only do birria and the menu is simple and focused. I like that. They know what they do well and they focus on that. The service was friendly and helpful. You get the impression they would go above and beyond to make your experience a good one. I ordered a couple of $3 tacos and some consommé. The dining room itself is small with 6 tables. Overall it was simple and tidy. The food was tasty and worth a try. I wouldn't rate it as amazing, but if I was on the west side of Columbus again, I'd give it another try.

They were very busy yesterday. Food was hot and yummy. The staff is always nice and friendly. Small seating area but with the wait it gave people time to finish before more people needed to sit down. My favorite taco spot

THE BEST birria I have had thus far in Columbus, hands down. The protein is Juicy and moist. They load the tacos up with both cheese and meat. The consome has real flavor and is seriously drinkable. The quesadilla birria was heavenly and pack with even more cheese. Salsas taste like it is made in house. Both roja and verde have a nice kick of heat. The Verde salsa was so freaking good I almost had to get more. But this is Some of my favorite salsa I have tried. Horchata was also good, we tried the coconut and peach horchata and favored the coconut. You order your food at the window and also pick it up yourself so not much input on the service. The order taker was nice and prompt. Las Tapias has about 6 dine in tables to enjoy your food inside. I can't wait to bring some friends and family and see their reaction to this phenomenal birria.

Tacos were a 2.5, due to the lack of cheese The Birria ramen was 5/5 (especially if you add some tajin) It was the middle of the winter and it did not feel like the heat was on, so come bundled up if you plan to eat in. They only have 4, 4 tops, and 2, 2 top tables, so internal seating is quite limited. That being said it seems like most of their orders were pickup orders.

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 This is your typical Mexican restaurant, located in a plaza out west. The plaza is surrounded by Mexican shops, a taco truck in the parking and other local shops. This was my first time trying a birria taco from a traditional restaurant and not a commercialized restaurant. They allowed me to order using flour tacos instead of corn. The consome sauce is good. There is a lot of meat packed into the taco and I can only usually eat one at a time. This is location that I visit almost weekly! If you haven't tried this is a must on the west side.

Had the birria quesadilla, they were good. Service was fast. Wish they had chips and salsa to go with it.

Amazing! I've been craving a birria for a while and this place hit the spot. Their other food choices look delicious and I'll definitely be back to try more.

I found myself on the Southeast side and saw tons of Mexican food options. Birria sounded amazing and I decided to check this place out and boy was I glad I did! I almost missed it upon pulling into the lot and even after seeing it, thought it was closed. Its in a plaza with a Mexican supermarket and looks like a couple businesses starting to build up as well. I went in and decided to get the monster quesadilla (large) and a tapia taco. The food was amazing and even though I took the food to go, it remained crispy even with the amount of consume that tagged along with the birria. It was flavorful, spicy, and decadent. I may have ordered a bit too much for one sitting but I ate it all and loved it. As far as birria goes, this has been some of the best I've had in Columbus. Its a bit far from me but was worth the drive!

    Birrita Tacos and consomme!

The birria connoisseurs of Columbus highly recommend this place for the Birria Consomme, and I was not disappointed. The menu consists of 7 items so it's straightforward and simple. Their tacos with the consomme were delicious and a great price! $3 per taco + $2 for the consomme. Additionally, they serve drinks here and they pour HEAVY. I had 2 of their margaritas and I was DONE! Definitely check them out when in this part of town!

A coworker told me about this place so I decided to stop by during my lunch. I ordered Birria tacos and a quesadilla. They didn't have any consommé so I was disappointed. The disappointment didn't last long bc the first bite was amazing. The tacos were very flavorful! The meat was tender and juicy. I had a side of cilantro sauce that gave it a little extra flavor. Mine were super cheesy bc I asked for extra cheese. You definitely need lots of napkins bc of the sauce in the taco. I would also recommend eating them there bc these would not travel well just bc of the juices. They would definitely get soggy. I learned that by reading other Birria reviews. I ate the quesadilla at home and it was amazing!! The restaurant itself is in a small plaza and would definitely be considered a hole in the wall, but hole in the wall places have the best food. The cost is very reasonable and the staff are super friendly. It's definitely a new local favorite!!! I did get an horchata to go. The almond extract was a bit overpowering! I would have preferred a plain one or mango water!

    2 Quesabirria's

Have tried this place now 3 times to honestly having mixed results. The first time I gave it a try was because so many had posted about how great it was for Birria. Being a birria lover, I went straight away and ordered a carryout. Consomme was was a little strange for me, but I am used to Martha's Fusion Kitchen and AJ's Birria so maybe that is why. It really just lacked the crunchiness of a good Birria that others have. This is weird as they double wrap theirs. So I decided the other day to go back and give it a try. I was buying for an office and really wanted Birria. Aj's wasn't open yet so I came here. Ordered 34 tacos of which I had 2 in the store. I left for 15-20 minutes (wanted to give them some time to prepare as the grill probably only holds 15 Birria tacos at a time anyways and came back. The gentleman at the front remembered I wanted 2 to eat in and promptly got me 2 fresh off the grill. These 2 tacos were Ah-maz-ing! Crispy on the outside, flavorful on the inside and the tomatillo sauce was unreal! Unfortunately, the other 32 tacos that were delivered, by the time I got them there were mushy and disappointing. Came back a 3rd time thinking, well, if I want to have a great tasting Birria at Las Tapias, I'll just have to eat it there and get it fresh off the grill. Ordered 2 Quesabirria's and 1 Taketo, which is basically a Birria with no tortilla and they use the melted cheese as the wrap. To my dismay, even though I ordered it there and ate there, my 2 quesabirria were mushy, was falling apart as I was eating it. So disappointing! The Taketo on the other hand was fantastic. So there is my tale of 3 separate attempts to love this place. As a result, I will be sticking with Martha's and Aj's for now. Maybe I'll give it another shot sometime, but probably not any time soon. Pic is of my 2 phenomenal tacos I got on my second visit!

This..was not good. I got the quesadilla with consommé. It was soggy and smelled weird. I don't know what this broth is they're trynna pass as consommé but I do NOT recommend. Ick

At $28 per person, it's an incredible value and lets everyone try a little bit of everything. The feast starts with all of the dips and salsas, including salsa amarilla, salsa roja, salsa verde, guacamole, and queso, served with chips. We also shared the rice and beans, which came with flavorful verde rice, crema, cilantro, frijoles charros, and queso fresco. The chicken empanadas were fantastic, filled with guajillo adobo braised chicken and Alejandro cheese, then topped with a delicious cilantro buttermilk sauce. My favorite taco was the Baja Shrimp, made with crispy shrimp, chipotle lime crema, guacamole, red cabbage, pickled Fresno peppers, and chives. The biggest surprise of the meal was The Dolly salad. If I hadn't ordered the Fiesta, I probably never would have tried it, and it ended up being my favorite dish of the entire meal. The combination of romaine, kale, croutons, radish, cotija cheese, Tajín, and chipotle Caesar dressing was so good that I'd honestly come back just for the salad. Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and perfect for sharing. I can't wait to come back and order it all again!
