We just tried the Chips, Guac, and Queso because we got main food elsewhere and we didn't know how long before we would be back so we wanted to give em a go. Tacos Rudos is located at the far end of the food section at the Budd Dairy Hall. It has its own sitting area right front of their counter. The place is decorated with fun signs and Luchado Funko Pops and other characters. Soon as we arrived at the counter, we were welcomed by a friendly staff who took his time to explain the menu to us and while we waited for our food, he told us a little history of how the restaurant started. As per the food, we ordered the asada and pescado tacos, nachos with a side of queso, and a slice of the Tres Leches cake. Both of the tacos were great. But my favorite was the Asada toco. The steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The queso was great too. It was very flavorful. The Tres Leche was very moist and had the perfect level of sweetness. They also, have quesadillas, tortas, a vegetarian section and a variety of drinks like Jarritos and Mexican coke. Great customer service and great food. He had two Pescado (Fish) Tacos at $5.50 each - Beer-battered red snapper fish, cabbage, pico de gallo, serrano pepper-cream sauce served on a flour tortilla. He said it very tasty and well balanced. It looked like a generous piece of fish and pretty to me. I had the delicious Pastor Taco (pork) - $4.50. Marinated pork served with salsa taquera, cilantro, onions & pineapple on a hand-pressed corn tortilla. This will be a definite repeat but a little messy with the grease and really enjoyed the corn tortilla. For my second taco I tried the Pollo (shredded chicken taco) - $4.50. Slow cooked chicken in a chipotle sauce, cabbage, queso fresco, and Serrano pepper-cream sauce on a hand-pressed corn tortilla. I really like the cabbage on this one. We had fresh Chips + Queso and I tried the Hot Salsa roja and boy was it hot! Way too much for me but like really spicy hot make sure to try it. We were full I recommend two tacos. Located in Budd Dairy Food Hall, this quaint little taco place smells SO good! You can actually get to Tacos Rudos through the right side doors instead of the main entrance. I found this out when I walked through the entire place just to find out Rudos is located in its own little corner lol. They do have outdoor seating which is nice for warmer days. The employees are extremely nice and made sure you were satisfied with your experience. You could see the employees slicing raw meat in front of you for their tacos! I got the Al Pastor ($4.50) and a side of chips and queso. The taco was balanced in flavor - savory, sweet, and acidic. The flavor of the meat was really good and well seasoned and the sauce gives it a nice zing, but I do think there should be more pineapples to add extra sweetness to cut the acidity and savory. The queso was bueno and is made in house. Those chips were extra crunchy which I liked. It is pricier than other taco places, but with inflation and everything going on, I don't blame them. My sister has been raving about this taco spot inside of the Budd Dairy Food Hall for at least a month now. She goes once a week, if not twice sometimes and over the weekend she dragged my butt here and I'm so glad she did. It's tucked towards the back of the building and there's an attached patio which is cool. Junior, the owner, was there and he was so friendly and excited for me to try their food for the first time. He gave us stickers and I made sure to follow them on Instagram too. My sister and I both ordered two fish tacos and we shared the chips and guacamole. Our food was ready in a jiffy and we decided to eat in the main dining hall so we could watch from college football. The chips and guac were greeeeaaaaatttt!! I'm a bit of a guac snob and it was perfect. I like mine a little junky and simple. It definitely hit the spot. The tacos were also divine. The fish was crispy and wasn't over battered. One of my absolute favorite places in Mexico City is a Taqueria in the Zona Rosa that serves this fantastic food - wonderful Tacos, Carnitas, and Avgolemano (a really special chicken soup). Hubby and I ventured out with toddler to Budd Dairy to get us some Tacos. Arrived shortly after opening.. nice day so people were beginning to come in and filling up the place. The area was large enough for a stroller which was nice. Just wish we knew how to work it more efficiently..Lol..Grandparents are out of practice..Taco Rudos is all the way at the end of the building and there is a ramp to take down to them which was a bonus. I've never met a taco I didn't like, but I have met tacos I didn't love. These tacos I LOVED. Notably the fish taco was perfectly fried with the right amount of sauce to compliment. The tortillas were soft with some bite and didn't fall apart when picking them up. So happy with the service, the team was super nice and really helpful. The restaurant itself has a lot of fun decor touches that give it a lot of character, ranging from fun signage like 'don't feed this boy' with a picture of Bart and 'you can't make everyone happy - you're not a taco!' to masks and luchador Funko Pops. The menu consists of several tasty tacos, of course, plus quesadillas, tortas, chips and dips (guacamole, pico de gallo, queso). Vegetarian options are available, and there was a specials board that featured nachos at the time of our visit. A nice glass case in front showcases some huge, delicious pieces of tres leches cake that I definitely had my eye on for next time. They offer a selection of Jarritos, Mexican Coke, plus horchata and hibiscus tea. The staff was very friendly and helpful and were very enthusiastic about their food and the available options. We went with a pollo taco, which came with chipotle and Serrano cream sauces, purple cabbage and queso fresco and a Mexican Coke. The taco was really good! Taco Rudos has a friendly and helpful staff. They always make sure that they answer any questions you may have and they truly want you to be happy with your order. During my last visit the gentleman behind the cash register let me know that they make all their corn tacos in house. Their pico tastes like it is made to order it is that fresh. In fact almost everything is made fresh in house, all except for the flour tortillas. Which I didn't want anyways. I have had the pollo, pastor, and the asada tacos. They are all delicious, but my top favorite is the pastor. I can not get enough of the flavor of the pork melding with the guac and the pineapple. It is a perfect combo. Be warned though, it is messy. Grab tons of extra napkins. The juices flow out the bottom of the taco while enjoying it. Remember I warned you! I suggest you grab some chips & pico or chips and guac. I've had both and they are each a crowd please. Again, both the guac and the pico are unbelievably fresh! So far Taco Rudos is my favorite food choice at Budd Dairy. I've finally found a taco spot that puts a respectable amount of protein on their tacos! Woo! This was my first time at Budd Dairy Food Hall, so naturally I went for the tacos. If you have trouble finding it, there's an arrow on the wall pointing to the back of the building. It's in its own little nook. The menu is small, but mighty. I got the pollo taco with chips and pico. Absolutely delicious! Usually tacos have a pretty dainty amount of meat, but not here!! They loaded that bad boy with chicken and I loved it! The cabbage and the cream sauce were light and added a nice crunch. My hands were a sloppy mess afterwards, but it was well worth it. As for the pico, maybe I'm easy to please, but that was the best pico I've ever tasted! I couldn't get enough of it. Ridiculously good. We went to Tacos Rudos on a Friday night after work. Parking is a bit of a challenge for the Budd Dairy Food Hall location where Tacos Rudos is located (just like anywhere downtown). Tacos Rudos is nestled in the back of the 1st floor of the Food Hall. Since this was our first time here, we did not realize that the restaurant has their own dedicated dining-in area, which, for BDFH is a huge plus since the place gets very busy after work and sitting spots can be limited. Whatever frustrations we had over finding parking was dispelled as soon as we approached the counter and was greeted by Ulysses, whose family owns Tacos Rudos. I cannot recall the last time I met a nicer and friendlier person, let alone a restauranteur. Even though they were busy, he explained the menu to us, took our order, and then proceeded to give us a quick rundown of the history of the restaurant and the concept of lucha libre (Mexican wrestling). We ordered the asada (steak) and pescado (fried red snapper) tacos, nachos with a side of queso, and my wife and I shared a Tres Leches cake. I did not think a day would come when I would find better tacos in Columbus than Los Guachos, but this was the day. The pescado tacos were really good, but we absolutely loved the asada tacos. The steak was cooked just perfectly, and the tortillas were some of the freshest I have ever had (and I eat a lot of tacos everywhere I go). We also got a (complimentary) side of hot sauce, which elevated the flavors of both the fish and steak tacos. The queso was just the right level of thickness, and even though our daughter ate most of the cake, it was moist and very fresh. We had been to BDFH before, but we always went with other dining options. After our last experience, we will be going to BDFH primarily for Tacos Rudos and hope they can expand their business to other Columbus neighborhoods. read more

Lots of drippy juice, more than I was expected, so remember to get yourself plenty of napkins. The meat was decent; not the most flavorful marinated spit-marinated pork I've had around town, but a valiant effort. Second try was their Pescada taco, and it was fabulous. A hearty chunk of batter-fried red snapper, cabbage and the spicy cilantro sauce for a fantastic topper - no, it did not drown out the other flavors. I understand that being a vendor in Budd Dairy will ideally bring in more tourist traffic, and thus many places in this situation like to mark up their prices a bit higher than norm, but I felt the asking price of these tacos is a bit much. YUM is all I have to say. Tacos for $4.50 each and they're quite filling. I got the pastor and the pollo. Loved the pineapple on the pastor. The meat on both tacos was seasoned well, and they were not skimpy! Their pico is to die for. Not sure what they do differently, but I couldn't stop dipping my chips in it once I started. I didn't take photos because I was starving. LOL. As always, love that they have gluten free options. The staff was incredibly friendly and my to-go order was ready within ten minutes. Love that they're actually authentic, as well. They're sort of tucked away in Budd Dairy, which is a shame, but I'm sure that doesn't stop them from any sort of success. I think I was expecting the actual "trompo", or giant spit you see legit al pastor taco meat lazily spinning on. But no. Just the standard small, chopped pieces of meat you get when you order an "al pastor" taco anywhere in this area. No punch of that complex al pastor flavor either. Rather tame but serviceable. The tortillas seemed to be a hybrid corn-flour tortilla, although I'm not sure since I didn't ask. Maybe not traditional, but it had a very nice chewiness and it held up well against the filling. Nice ratio of filling to tortilla. I drove out on a weekday afternoon to try these tacos but not sure I would make a special trip again.
