From start to finish, the staff and manager were absolutely phenomenal. The service was attentive, organized, and warm, especially impressive given the size of our group. The food was delicious and came out timely for everyone, which made the evening run smoothly and enjoyably. What truly set this experience apart was when our daughter's graduation cake unfortunately fell and was ruined. Without hesitation, the manager went out personally and purchased a replacement cake for her. That level of kindness, professionalism, and genuine care is rare and deeply appreciated. To top it all off, the bill for 25 people was very affordable, making the night even more enjoyable and stress-free. Rumba Cubana turned what could have been a disappointing moment into a truly memorable celebration. Exceptional service, great food, and outstanding management -- we will absolutely be back and highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions.

My husband ordered a chicken empanada and it was filled with chicken and rice and not fully fried. When I asked the server to fry it some more, she brought a new one out that was a bit more fried but just as pale as the first one. The inside was not tasty at all and it was definitely not colombian. Then there was the stale Colombian beef empanadas. These were probably the worst of all. We also ordered a bread that we asked if it was filled with cheese, the server said yes....and it had ham and cheese, so my son did not eat it. This could've just been a miscommunication, but most places tend to clarify when it is not just cheese, but also includes something else with it. The menu is very small, so I decided to order a burger which was made with pulled beef and was actually delicious. They also have Colombian style scrambled eggs and coffee which my husband liked. If it's just based on food I would say it was 50/50 your chances of getting something tasty, but because the service was not attentive or friendly (we were the only people in the cafe for awhile), it is not a place I would return to. Maybe it was just an off day?

The service is on point and Rebecca, the barista is so skilled! I saw her making a ton of orders for customers coming in and she's a pro! I love the ambiance and the decor. I did a little work and if I lived in the area, this would be my go to place to bring my laptop. I can't wait to go back and try other things on the menu. The footlong Philly cheese steak was very good and you can share that with two people because it's big! Unless you're super hungry! The owner let me record him making an espresso and that was really cool! I highly recommend you try this coffee shop.

Returned to Rumba Cubana to enjoy their Sunday brunch menu…read more The restaurant was full of happy patrons and I always appreciate the nostalgic music adding to everyone's enjoyment. We started with a Bloody Mary and one of my favorites, Coconut Mojito. Rumba's Bartenders always create amazing libations and these two followed suit. The entrees were: Picadillo Jinetero (Cuban-style ground beef hash, served "a caballo" (on horseback) with two fried eggs and ripe plantains. It is a savory-sweet dish made with seasoned ground beef, sofrito, tomatoes, olives, capers, raisins, and Moro Rice). I enjoyed this dish, VERY MUCH. The ground beef was perfectly seasoned, I prefer the delectable dry Moro Rice, and those sweet plantains are divine. The other selection was the Tostones Montaditos (Fried green pressed plantains topped with Churrasco-Skirt Steak). Even though this is an appetizer, it is large enough to be a meal. Try it. I appreciated the attentive and cordial service from our Server, Eduardo. I placed a to-go order and not only was it securely packed, but Rumba also included another free appetizer coupon to the bag.

I've visited multiple locations over the past few years and I've never been disappointed! They don't miss! No matter which spot I go to, the quality of the food, the warm service, and the lively ambiance are consistently amazing. We visited the Rochelle Park location on a Saturday night. It's right on Rt17 with a large parking lot, but it was packed when we arrived. There was a line of cars backed into the highway waiting for valet service. It's complimentary, so tip as you please. I honestly don't like to valet my car...... especially when I could easily park it myself right there LOL. But we didn't have a choice. *shrug* As always, Rumba's vibrant atmosphere didn't disappoint. You can feel the energy as soon as you walk in! The upbeat Latin music will have you swaying, I promise ;) The interior beautifully captures the culture and history of Cuba with colorful artwork, tropical plants, rattan pendant lamps, and large murals of Havana. It has a touch of elegance without feeling too upscale, so this restaurant is perfect for casual dining and special occasions like celebrations or date nights. We didn't have reservations and had to wait around 15 minutes for a table for two. No biggie - we sipped at the bar until our table was ready! The menu offers traditional Cuban dishes like ropa vieja, vaca frita, and bistec de palomilla along with a variety of tapas, mofongos, sandwiches, and sides. I ordered: *Taino Cocktail [El Jimador Reposado Cristalino, Ancho Reyes Verde, Tamarindo Pure, Agave Syrup, Fresh Lime Juice] ($14.95) - Oooo this was a sweet & spicy mix with a strong tequila finish! It's like a spicy margarita with a tropical twist. *Caribbean Punch Cocktail [Tanduay White Rum, Tanduay Gold Rum, Plantation Overproof Rum, Lime Juice, Guava, Orange, Pineapple Juice, Grenadine] ($13.95) - This drink was screaming my name! It's fruity, refreshing, and makes you feel like you're on an island. I just wish it had a liiiiiiitle more rum for a stronger punch, and that the glass wasn't filled with so much ice. *Ropa Vieja [shredded beef stewed in a sauce made with tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, garlic, cumin, olives, and sherry wine] ($15.95) - Cuba's national dish! The tomato-based sauce was perfectly seasoned and the beef was sooo tender... melt-in-your-mouth type of tender! My tummy was happy, but I wish the portion size was bigger! I paired it with a side order of tostones (fried plantains) and arroz blanco (white rice) with frijoles negros (black beans). The fluffy rice soaked up the rich sauces of the black beans & ropa vieja, so every bite was savory heaven~ The tostones were sliced, deep fried, and smashed to perfection. Crispy tostones + garlic mojo sauce = a perfect pairing. I could eat these all day! The only thing that's really missing here is...Can you guess? A DANCE FLOOR. Once they make room for that, y'all know where to find me. I'll be at the bar for drinks first and then dancing later! Need to satisfy your Cuban cravings? Look no further. Put some rumba in your step and head over here!

This is Cuban food your abuela - and in Annarella's case, her dear Mima - would make for you. (And many of the recipes are hers) Everything on their menu is good. Seriously, you can't go wrong: Mima's daily specials, empanadas, the De Todito Pollo chicken sandwich, Mima's croquetas, the oxtail sandwich, the Cuban sandwich & medianoche, the vaca frita fries (yes, if I lived closer, I'd be even chunkier for sure!) and one of my cravings, the Elena Ruz (a classic Cuban treat of turkey, cream cheese and strawberry jam - it just works!) Important to note: "Asi viene el sandwich meng!" Please don't ask for modifications on anything they make - just trust them and have the true experiencia cubana - they know what they're doing. :) It's a sweet, tiny spot with a cute counter to enjoy your feast. They also have great fruit batidos (shakes) - mango, fruta bomba (papaya) and mamey -- all delicious and made fresh. They'll also make a cafecito for you - all part of the most lovely, authentic Cuban experience you'll ever have for many miles. Dale!
