My girlfriend told me this has been on her list of places to go and mine too. I had it a long time ago and wanted to try again. It was phenomenal!!! The meat is so juicy and flavorful and the price can't be beat for the huge sandwich piled high. We got it to go and it traveled well. The knish however was meh. Small. Skip that.

Wow. Just wow. I had heard about this place and it has been on my list for a long time. But we finally pulled the trigger and went yesterday. We got takeout. It was amazing.

Placed an order at 5:55pm for pick up. We were only about 15 mins away and thought our order wasn't that complicated it would be ready...didn't get our order until about an hour later. We got there and my husband waited for about 15 mins and was told it was "almost done". We decided to leave and come back since our 1 year old started crying in the car. We got home and made dinner for the kids and finally got a message at 6:53pm that the order was ready for pick up. Having waited an hour for a pick up order, I was expecting this to be spectacular. My pastrami was fine. Did its job filling me up but pastrami was a little on the dry side and flavoring was whatever. My husband had the plain brisket sandwich which was dry AF. No juices on the bread and not that much flavoring on the brisket. The steak fries and onion rings were mediocre. Nothing to rave about. I thought we'd try something new tonight for Fourth of July but was definitely a mistake...not worth the money I paid and the wait for a pick up order. The girl behind the counter apologized to my husband for the wait, told him his order was ready, and left to do something. We thought she was getting our order but she came back and completely forgot about us... I'm sure she had a lot going on...... Worth a try if you're a local, but not something I'd pick when you're in a rush to get your food.

    So much pastrami in Rueben

Loved the Rueben I ordered! When you order they give you some slices of meat to snack on while you wait. This was a bit fatty for my liking but still good. I got the Rueben with pastrami and it was perfect. There was so much meat that when I pulled the sandwich apart the pastrami was overflowing. The whole sandwich was way too much for me to eat in one sitting. You get pickles with sandwich as well. Also got an order of potato latkes. They were good as well. Bill came to a little less than $30. There is a cash discount.

Absolutely lives up to the hype! The pastrami is insanely tender like melt in your mouth kind of good. The sandwich is definitely messy, but that's how you know it's done right when its packed and stacked with meat! Even with a line out the door, the guys behind the counter cutting the meat are friendly and keep things moving. They even hand out samples while you wait, which makes the whole experience feel welcoming (and honestly makes the wait easier).

The best Ruben you'll ever have! So much meat it's 2 meals on one sammich! The pastrami is absolutely amazing

I have to come here more often! An amazing pastrami sandwich for a reasonable price! Usually only eat half of my sandwich and take the other half home, which tastes even better the next day! If you like pastrami and haven't been to Pastrami Grill Bistro, check it out

The staff here are so nice! As you order at the counter, they give you some slices of pastrami or corned beef while you wait (as they should!) and my god. That first taste really tells you what you're in for. Watching them slice the meat in front of you gives such great satisfaction and it truly makes your mouth water. By the time they hand you your sandwich, you can't wait to bite into the juicy goodness of it ! -1 star only for the space because of how small it is, but I assume most people order to-go rather than to sit and dine-in. All in all, some of the best pastrami and corned beef I've had in a while ! My family and I used to go to Harold's all the time but now this might be our spot.

Absolutely delicious, magical pastrami. Whenever I've wanted pastrami, nothing could compare to Katz's or 2nd Ave Deli in NYC. Well, this is super close or even better. I couldn't believe how moist and delicious this pastrami is. We got the pastrami sandwich and reuben pastrami. When you order, they give you a generous portion to sample and they pile the meat high on the sandwich. The sandwich was so big I could only finish half of it. I ate it the next day and it tasted even better. It's truly magical pastrami. Nice, casual place with a few booths to eat at. The service is great and friendly. Bring your patience when you go. It took a while to order because it was busy and because they took such care when making my sandwich. They trimmed the cuts and looked like they were picking the best cuts for the sandwich. Definitely come here. It's worth the trip, wherever you're coming from.

Update: I've finally tried the pastrami. The sandwiches are huge. We got the pastrami cheese fries, and a corned beef reuben. The pastrami is really good and is very tender. The fries are steak fries, which I don't typically love but it worked well as a vehicle for the pastrami. The corned beef is a bit dry. We had some pierogies but these were superrrr oily. We also ordered a matzoh ball soup because I've never had it before. But the second I saw them microwave it in a plastic container, I knew I had made a mistake. It was basically just a matzoh ball in very salty chicken bouillon water. I'm sad that was my first matzoh ball soup experience but am not deterred from finding a real one elsewhere. Based on my previous visit and this one, it seems like you should just stick to a classic pastrami sandwich. It's big enough to share between two people. Next time, I'd like to dine in and eat it fresh. The sandwiches also come with a bunch of pickles, which was nice. Tip #1 - there is a parking lot but because there are so many stores and it's next to Bratek Deli, it's a nightmare. It did also happen to be Good Friday, so maybe that made it worse? I don't remember it being that bad the first time around. Tip #2 - I called ahead to place my order but still had to wait 15 minutes extra after the quoted time. They prioritize walk-in customers, so you might as well just order in store.

    Shaved-Ribeye Cheese Steak

Just come here for their Pastrami DO NOT get THEIR Cheesesteak Sandwich. It was on special called Happy Hour for $8. I tried it and they use imitation Cheese. It was noticeable and disgusting. The bread and steak meat that they use is good. I hate when places do this and are cheap. Staff is friendly, their prices are fair but unfortunately their cheese that they use is that nasty liquid cheese like from 7 eleven.

Best Pastrami in New Jersey, good service, much more chill than going to NY. Just as good as those familiar with Katz but cheaper.

We finally made it this past weekend to Vinnie's Mootz for one of their special tasting menu…read morenights, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. If you're expecting a typical dinner, think again. The tasting menu featured around 12 courses, and by course ten I was completely full--but somehow still excited for what was coming next. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, packed with flavor and very tasty. For me the standout of the night was the very first dish which was Vinnie's homemade mozzarella with tomatoes, which was so good that we even bought some fresh mozzarella to take home. The meatballs were also outstanding, and the steak and eggplant course was another highlight. After all that food, finishing with a cannoli just felt like the perfect ending. The atmosphere is casual and inviting, but the food is every bit as good as what you'd find at restaurants that cost a lot more. Live guitar music throughout the evening added to the experience created a nice vibe. My only suggestion would be maybe to turn it down a notch or two as it was a little hard to hear others at our table. Still a very nice touch though and all songs you would know. I always like it when a chef comes out of the kitchen, especially at a tasting menu, and Vinnie came out several times to chat with guests which was very nice. It just added a personal touch and showed how much pride goes into both the food and the overall experience and we got to hear his back story. This tasting menu is an incredible value and a great way to try dishes you might not normally order. Just remember to come hungry--and maybe skip lunch beforehand. If you can get a reservation for one of these tasting nights, don't hesitate.

After my first visit, I can say the tongue-in-cheek spirit of Vinnie Mootz's signage carries right through the front door and into its lineup of "SANGWEECHES." I ordered "The Nicky Mootz" -- cutlet, bacon, hot sauce, and fresh mootz -- and enjoyed it immensely in the friendly, medium-sized dining room. The pizza, which I plan to try on a future visit, looked excellent, and the small assortment of hand-stretched mozzarellas is reason enough to stop back in the next time I'm passing through. It's a Jersey sandwich -- excuse me, sangweech -- shop with all the charm, humor, and flavor you'd hope for the community!

If I absolutely had to choose a favorite, I'd give the edge to the GoodFella, but it's really more of a 1A/1B situation. You can't go wrong with either! For an appetizer, we split the mozzarella sticks, and they were fantastic--crispy, flavorful, and exactly what you want from a great starter. Perfect sized app for at least 2 people... and fresh dipping sauce served right on the plate. For dinner, we both ordered the Hawaiian Marinated Steak, and I truly can't say enough about it. It was incredible: packed with flavor, cooked perfectly, juicy, and finished with butter on top that was the perfect touch. It was one of those dishes where every bite makes you slow down and appreciate how good it is. It was definitely a lot of food for one person, but I skipped lunch, so I indulged. The steak was the star of the plate, but it paired perfectly with the loaded baked potato and green vegetable. A huge shoutout to our waitress, Iris, who was incredible throughout the meal. To top everything off, she brought us a taste of her favorite dessert. I'm not entirely sure of the official name, but I'd compare it to a warm bread pudding with homemade ice cream and house-made caramel sauce. Absolutely delicious and a perfect ending to an already excellent meal. Great drinks, great food, excellent service, and an overall memorable experience. The Ridge House is an easy 5 out of 5.

No specials - not sure if they offer specials on the weekends. We'll find out on our next visit. For apps: I enjoyed my tortilla soup - more like a chili consistency than soup - and it was delicious! We shared wings as well. They were crispy and meaty and they'll default to mixing in a choice of sauces or they'll bring the sauces on the side for you. Nice touch! For entrees: Can't go wrong with the burger or the chicken sandwich. Add truffle fries for $1 up charge - worth it! Coming back to try the blackened cod sandwich or fish n chips with salt and vinegar fries. (They were just out of cod when we arrived at around 8:00pm - next time!). My wife had the chicken parm - huge portion, decent marinara (rare that my wife orders red sauce outside of a bonafide Italian restaurant) with a side of lasagna-looking pasta - very good!
