Came on a Saturday bc was visiting the area and they open earlier than others in the area, so got there around 8:20a and there were already like 10 people ahead, and lots of cars in the lot and on the street. When you get there you just find a spot nearby to park. The owner greets you quickly and takes your keys to make sure you are in line on first come first serve/ first served basis. I waited til 9:45 for my turn, and my 12 year old car was done by 9:55a. By time I filled out the car info slip it was pretty much done. DMV transmission wasn't ready within an hour but definitely by the afternoon. Prices differ based on the car model and year - per the gentleman/owner. Newer cars can be $45, some older standard the lady was charging $58. Almost 2 hrs wait on a weekend -- so def bring a book or something to do. *** BE PREPARED TO WAIT *** since it's a very very busy shop and they have a system going fairly fast depending on the car (10-15 mins per car). If you don't like the wait then I'd def go to El Monte where it's much quicker for a few bucks more. They do have a waiting room with couches and large TV, along with 4 patio chairs out in front of the shop. They take credit cards (not checks) and thankfully DON'T CHARGE fees for credit. :) read more

It's a one man show for the smog checks, so expect somewhat of a wait...personally I think it moves by fairly quick. Make sure you call ahead so they give you a 20% discount! A 2013 Honda accord smog cost $48.90 with the discount. I honestly have not found any other smog spot that can beat this price. Even without the discount it's still cheaper than a lot of smog check places in the area. Formosa Aroma just opened up the street so if you don't want to sit and wait you can always go on a short walk to get a drink. They do have a small waiting room with AC as well. read more

Very quick service and friendly. You'll get a bit of a rushed feeling, I went on a Monday morning and it was a 1 man show. The office door was locked so you have to check in where the waiting area is at. The price is more than reasonable at $50 for my 2017 plus $8 and some change for the certificate. My only tip is to not leave and stay there and wait. I was told 30 mins, so I went for a walk thinking it'll be done when I came back. Arrived back in 45 mins and my car was not serviced. I'm sure people who came after me got skipped ahead of me. When I went back after my walk my car was never moved. 10 mins later they finally pulled my car in for service. From the time it went into the garage to being done was about 15mins. So I spent about an hour total from drop off to completion with 2 people ahead of me. Overall great but because it's a 1 man show do not leave for quick errands or walks as they might lose count of who's next and you'll lose your up. I was hoping it was a quick in and out so I tried to time it to be productive. Noz you give them your keys and sit on the outside in plain view. Don't even go into the waiting room. Lee the owner/operator greeted us and instructed us to park in the small parking lot. He had 2 cars in the garage at a time and worked efficiently to get the smogs done. Las Tunas Smog Check is a fairly priced STAR Smog Check station conveniently located in San Gabriel near the Temple City border Pricing: I paid $40 (in 7/22) for the Smog Check for a 2012 Nissan Sentra, including the price of the certificate. In order to get this deal, I had to mention the $40 quote from the phone. I called 4 STAR certified Smog Check stations in the area. Three of them all quoted $40. This Smog Check station and another both required mentioning the $40 deal in order to nag the price and one did not. I chose Las Tunas Smog Check Station because I live in Arcadia and the other two were in El Monte. Service: I was quoted a 30 minute wait time on a 3 PM Tuesday afternoon without appointment. The service roughly took 30 minutes as promised. There is a spacious waiting room with AC. Parking: Parking, as most auto service businesses go, is not ideal. There are only 2 or 3 marked/dedicated spaces. I went at 3:00 PM on a Tuesday and took the last proper space. Others that came after me had to park in the handicap space or creatively elsewhere on the lot. When my car was done testing, there was not enough room on the lot to turn out. I had to reverse on to Olive St. Of course, don't let this deter you unless you are REALLY concerned about parking because parking sucks at pretty much all auto service businesses. The decor and construction of the place itself is no-frills utilitarian (hey, it's a one-purpose shop after all), but the way they do their cable installations for everything provides a lot of comedic value. With that aside, we came here because we needed a smog test and these folks were the only ones within our vicinity open later on a Saturday (up until 6 PM). There were a couple of other people in line in front of us, but they serviced us past their closing time since we got in there before then. The test itself only took about 15-20 minutes. The gentleman (I think his name is Lee, who is also the owner) doing all the tests was very professional, and prices were pretty reasonable. The lady checking everyone in seemed pleasant enough, and her English speaking skills seemed limited, but at least she got the gist of what we needed done and showed us what forms we needed to fill out. Restroom is in a funny location; you access it by first going into a large, sketchy stark white empty room with only a single door leading into the restroom itself. Kind of reminded me of a Mission Impossible or James Bond movie. Restroom was reasonably clean too. Overall, would definitely be back again, at least this visit gave us another local option for smog tests. read more

He will ask what you're here for and hands you a paper to fill out and in exchange, you give him your keys. After filling out the paper, you wait on the side.
