Needed a smog check to renew the car's license and found this place thanks to Yelp! It's been awhile since I needed a smog check but pulled into The Smog Spot without an appointment and was able to get my car tested right away by Jonathan. BTW, the driveway into The Smog Spot is narrow and you can miss it if there are cars parked on the street and you're driving fast. But, you can see the top of the building with the sign from a distance so be ready to turn right where the sign lines up to Garvey as the driveway is a straight line into the business. There are parking spots and a bench for those who want to wait for their test. My car easily passed since it's an Asian car (LOL Asian academics humor) They have clearly posted and good prices. I was also happy with the service I received. This place is test only and you still need to pay if your car fails! read more

It was that time of year again, smog check for my vehicle. Usually I would call around and see if I can get a good deal. Not this year. Not because this place has the lowest price. But because I think it's worth paying an extra buck or two and save myself time. There is one other place that has a better price but I remembered having to wait for over an hour, with no waiting area except for a few plastic chairs against the wall of the garage. Whereas here, there's plenty of seating and SHADE. Plus, like my previous visit, I was done in 20 minutes. (They do two cars at once.) And as always, the staff was polite and upfront about the additional credit card usage fee. So save yourself some time and just get your car smog checked here. Because you got better things to do than this. Oh, careful with the drive way. There's only enough room for just one car to either enter or exit so dont go speeding down that driveway. read more

I had to do a smog check, title transfer, and renew my registration. I went Sunday afternoon at ~2PM and there was no wait. I requested info on yelp beforehand but got no response but its fine bc they picked up our phone call right away (should've done that first)! Prior to going to The Smog Spot, I researched which DMV forms I needed to fill out so I could speed up the process as much as possible. I thought i had to sign the actual forms there but I was able to forward them my filled out forms via email and just sign my name. I'm confidently sure they would've had the forms if I didn't have it. I handed them all the forms + keys to my car and they did the rest. If I was going just for a smog check, I would've been out in 10-15 min but my situation had a couple more steps. Either way, I was out in 25-30 mins. Got the new tags asap too! Not only are you beating the DMV lines, you're also met with patient workers who know how to do their job well without being condescending about it like at DMV. I paid $398 for all of my services and would do it again because it saved me the mental stress and time!!! Shoutout to Ruben and Jonathan who helped me out! They were helpful in answering my questions, local, and had great reviews so I drove here to do my smog check. I'm in the middle of a title transfer, so I brought my pink slip with me and they were able to process/do the smog check just fine.
