I was going to take my car to Longo Toyota to swap out a bad alternator and they quoted me $1089.64 parts and labor not including taxes. That is so freaking steep. So then I asked for just the part itself and it was $369.00 tax not included. This is why I am no longer taking my car there. They really gouge you. I started looking for other places to get the alternator swapped out. My brother in law suggested this establishment. I read all the reviews before hand and they all consistently say the same thing, he is honest with reasonable prices. I called in before to see if I needed an appointment. Tom answered and told me it is first come first serve. My car is a toyota sedan that is about 10 yrs old. I asked him what parts he uses and he answered Denso (which is a toyota parts manufacturer). I let him know that my battery indicator came on. I tested my battery and it was good so that meant it was my alternator that has gone bad. Asked him for a quote and he said 350 parts and labor not including tax (final prices was $369). Took my car in 2 days later and met him in person. He greeted me and was very nice and courteous. He told me it would take about 1h 30mins to swap out. He did it in under an hour. Checked over my car and told me it was in good condition other than my bad alternator he swapped out. He was good to his word. Honest, reasonable, quick and reliable. Speaking from just my experience this is one of the best cars shops I have been to. I took my car on a Wednesday morning. So depending on when you take you car your wait times may vary. As for some of the bad reviews that state he doesn't work on non- Toyota vehicles, even though there are reviews on here for non toyota vehicles, you have to know that other car brands use toyota engines and parts under the hood. So if he could have repaired or replaced those parts he would. Otherwise those people with vehicles that have non Toyota parts to take it back to their dealer or a shop that services those vehicles. When i plan a drive to vegas or other places i'll ask for a checkup and they will give me honest answers on what should be looked at. The man was very unfriendly. He told me my car was dying and that it was an engine problem. I asked, "are you sure?" AutoZone just told me that I needed to replace the sparkplugs. He said, "It was a waste of time, but fine, I'll do it". He tried to charge me $200 for the spark plugs when they cost $15.99 each at AutoZone (4 spark plugs were needed). I even bought the spark plugs from AutoZone and he still was giving me grief. Saying, he would prefer not to do it as your car is dying. I went elsewhere and they were able to replace it and my car is running just fine. The guy really needs an ego check. read more

My Son's Prius V catalytic convertor was recently stolen. Contacted Tom about ordering a replacement. He was very up front and honest about it, letting me know that there were so many orders for them that they were on backorder at Toyota and that it could be 6-8 mnth. wait. Needed the convertor so we placed the order anyway. After a 2 1/2 mnth. wait the convertor arrived, was installed and car now drives like new! We also had a shield installed. I've been bringing my Toyota Camry Hybrid here for regular oil changes for the past 3 years and I recommend this place to everyone I know. I've only done oil changes and have not used their other services, so this review is limited to this experience. These guys are great, very professional, honest, and quick. They're upfront about how long the wait or service will take; and they let you know about other issues if they come across them, even if they don't do the repair at their shop (ie. a small hole in my tire). My only constructive comment is they could have a nicer waiting area, but that's a minor thing. And I usually walk over to the shopping plaza at the corner and grab a bite to eat while I wait. read more
