I have been coming here for many years. They without a doubt have some of the best fresas con crema around. You get a good amount of fresas and the crema has such a great taste. Portion wise they're definitely on the bigger side and seem reasonable for the price. To this day they're has yet to be something I don't like. Service is great, they're all always in such a great mood. You'll always walk-in to them playing an old school Mexican movie/show of music. This has definitely become a go to spot.

All right foos if you are a real Mexican you know what's up with tejuino. This is an ancient drink made by indigenous people in Mexico. It's made by fermenting corn and lots of other cool things and process. Get this to fix la cruda (hangover) Jaa jk not sure if that is scientifically proven. If your not down foo they also have lots of other Mexican and Chicano treats including chamangos ice cream de garafa or nieve artesanal, sandwhiches and nachos just to name a few. So if your socks are low don't bother but if you want that street cred come on through all races welcome.

If you're someone who cares about supporting local businesses, this place is a must try. The tortas are always delicious but can take long depending on how busy it is so I would suggest calling and ordering ahead of time. They have a pretty big menu, ranging from licuados to nachos and tortas but they're famous for their tejuinos. I definitely suggest checking out this business as you'll always find the owner there working alongside her team. There's limited parking in the street but you can usually find some extra street parking around the corner.

For starters this business is CASH ONLY. They have an atm in there and charge $2 to withdraw money so if your planning on going bring some mula. Now onto the review The family and I went we got Diablitos, Fresas con crema, an elote, Ice cream, lemonade and nachos. The Diablitos were good honestly better than mangonadas I've tried from other fruterías the fact that they use shaved ice like in snow cones makes it so much better and it's only $5 The ice cream was good it was nice and creamy. The elote was just as good. Cherry on top is you can add crushed hot Cheetos or takis to it the lemonade is fresh and thirst quenching especially now that it's getting warm. Fresas con crema were on a whole different level!! I've never tasted crema like that before and the strawberries are just the right amount of sweetness, top it off with granola and you've got yourself heaven in a cup. The nachos are OMG that's how nachos should taste. Overall it's a great place to come grab a snack for a low price. Stop by and try it out for yourself

They have different types of drinks that you can't get any where else.. well maybe if you cross the border. My favorite is the tejuino with two scoops of lime ice cream .. trust me it's so good.. you feel like it's going to be a lot offering a large but I always find myself being satisfied.. The only warning is bring cash..

We got so lucky that this joint was right next to our hotel. Ups on arriving we were greeted by the friendliest staff. We didn't know it was only cash at the moment and she was sweet enough to wait for us even though she was starting to get a line. The tejuino was sooooo good. Probably the best I've had in a while. We also tried the tamarind ice cream and it was delicious. I can't wait to come back for more!

I had been staying at the Hotel Motel Holiday Inn in National City and when walking my dog in my new neighborhood I stumbled across Las Uvas. I had walked by it so many times I finally went in and man, I was hooked. I ordered a strawberry raspado and a chorizo torta. They were really nice and let me wait inside with my Kodiak. The raspado is huge and was so delicious, it hadn't been warm but it was definitely the best sweet little treat after a rough work day also that chorizo torta is so flavorful, the jalapenos inside add a nice crunch but gives some acidity and heat. I'm back home now and looking at these photos makes me want to take a drive after work just to get another raspado and torta! Small little shop on a busy street and always busy. They only accept cash. There is however an ATM machine indoors for your convenience. Seating is limited to only 2 small tables, indoors. I believe there's limited seating outdoors as well. Customer service is wonderful and the place looks clean. No AC. If you love Tejuino, this place has it. Don't know if any other place in San Diego sells it. The tortas are tasty and never disappoint. Off street parking but that has never been an issue for us. read more

This place is a true hole in the wall, as soon as you open the door and step in, the feeling of being in a true Mexican shop is refreshing. Cash only so come prepared. I had been looking for a good Tejuino for days now. Tried other promising places just to keep getting disappointed! When my sister in law mentioned this place to me I had no faith that I would be satisfied. Parking is limited (street parking) luckily I found a spot right in front of the building. After walking in and swing the menu I was faced with the decision of getting a tepache or a tejuino. The menu looked extensive, sorry I don't read it all since I knew what I wanted. I ordered my tejuino that was mixed in front of me and salted to perfection. I recommend this place! Best chamoy tejuino and elote ever! I always get the chamoy tejuino and ask them to put tajin around the rim. Decent customer service, however sometimes it takes a while to get service or you'll go inside and staff won't be at the front for several minutes. Cash only! read more

I got the elote with chips for $14! The corn was not good and you could barely bite the corn because it was so thin. The worst and most expensive elote ever. You would think that they could inspect each corn to make sure that they are producing a quality food for customers. I will never go back. read more

Great place to grab a torta or fruit salad . Parking can be a hassle due to it being located on the Main Street . Prices are also affordable and decent . Customer service was not the greatest but I am sure they were just having a bad day. read more

Another Mexican fruit place that serves tortas, pretty unoriginal. What is great is the fact they they have Tejuino (trust me you dont wanna know) Its hard to find it in San Diego, so every trip I take to TJ i am on the hunt....but not anymore!!!! They have a Tj hotdog guy outside usually after 6pm, he can be pretty slow, so order from him and go inside, and order something from the ladies who can also be pretty slow. I love getting raspados here even during the cold days. They are all made with fresh fruit and taste great. The tostilocos here are kind of disappointing but then again I am more of a tostiloco connoisseur. Bring cash (there are several banks within a couple blocks of here) and DO NOT be in a hurry. You order and pay first, then they call your name when everything's ready. Service was nice and straightforward. The salsa bar was clean and stocked with fresh limes, two salsas, and radishes. There are a few tables inside plus a bigger table, but we chose to sit outside on the patio. It was clean, comfortable, and the weather made it easy to eat outside. Cabeza: $3.69. Super juicy and packed with flavor. If you like cabeza, this one hits. It came with onions and cilantro and didn't need much else. Lengua: $4.38. Lengua is usually my go-to, and this one was cooked really well. Not greasy at all, which I appreciated. The texture was right, and the flavor was solid, especially with extra lime. I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't order more than one at that price. Adobada: $3.69 each. These were my husband's favorite. They come with a creamy green salsa that isn't at the salsa bar, and it pairs really well with the pork. Probably the safest order here. I'd come back to try other items since they have a lot of different cuts and styles, but the prices do make you pause a little, especially if you're ordering multiple tacos.

I actually preferred the old setup where you could walk to the different stations, pick your tacos, watch them prepare everything fresh, get it packed up, and then pay at the end. It felt like part of the experience. We also have to talk about the pricing. I remember when these tacos were around $1.25 each. Now they're over $4 for a mini street taco. I understand this is California and the cost of goods has increased, but that is a drastic jump. That said, I don't want to take away from the food because the tacos are still excellent. I ordered two buche tacos and a quesadilla, and both were 10 out of 10. They don't miss when it comes to seasoning and flavor. The service is still quick as well. My only real complaint is the price. It feels overpriced for what you're getting, and honestly, it may explain why there weren't many people there when we visited. There were only a handful of customers inside. The food is still worth trying, but be prepared for some serious sticker shock.

This place is a mess!…read more I have been going here for years and just recently the service has been coming down. Today I went for two Carne Asada Fries and let me tell you, the cashiers there are super rude. They just call the orders at random, have you waiting there to order and don't tell you "sorry, give me a second" or anything. When I actually get to order the cashiers cannot even look at you in the eyes to acknowledge you. I waited for a long time and then they called the order that was after me before me, I was like"hey what happened? I was before" and then the cashier pretends like she doesn't know and starts making fun of me because I was wondering about my food being after than the customers after me. When I got home my food was super cold and the carne asada fries were more fries than anything, plus they were cold as if they were sitting out for a while. Total disappointment, they lost a customer with me for sure.

Matcha was nothing mind-blowing but I do think they use a good quality matcha for their matcha latte drinks. We got the iced matcha latte and it was a refreshing afternoon drink to go along with the cornet pie. We also bought a bag of sliced bread and it was very good quality and taste. Prices are meh, kind of on the same price range one would expect for a barkery similar to 85°C. Overall, not a bad place to go to for a sweet tooth's needs and afternoon pick-me-up beverage. I would love to try out their cake flavors next time, namely the Earl Grey cake, if we are ever in the same area again!

Customer was horrible. Lady's that work there didn't even take the time to greet my family and I as we walked in. They took forever with our order. When I asked one of the lady's how much longer for our order she didn't even understand me. So we waited about a total of 30 mins for a fruit salad and 4 raspados. The prices are not accurate so when they ring you up its whole different price. The owner should really get more help and hopefully that understand English. She also needs to invest in something to keep all the fruit flys away. I rather drive a couple blocks down and get better service and food read more
