I had been staying at the Hotel Motel Holiday Inn in National City and when walking my dog in my new neighborhood I stumbled across Las Uvas. I had walked by it so many times I finally went in and man, I was hooked. I ordered a strawberry raspado and a chorizo torta. They were really nice and let me wait inside with my Kodiak. The raspado is huge and was so delicious, it hadn't been warm but it was definitely the best sweet little treat after a rough work day also that chorizo torta is so flavorful, the jalapenos inside add a nice crunch but gives some acidity and heat. I'm back home now and looking at these photos makes me want to take a drive after work just to get another raspado and torta! This place is a hidden gem for all things yummy snacks. If you like Mexican desserts and snacks I recommend this place.
