Beware of This Office's Shady Practices I am extremely disappointed with the way this office handles patient deposits and customer service. I was scheduled for surgery and came in two weeks prior to sign the required paperwork, which included a policy stating cancellations must be made within a month to get a refund. The very next day, my insurance denied coverage, and I found out I would need to pay $12,000 out of pocket for the procedure. I immediately called the office to cancel the surgery, thinking the timing and circumstances would be understood. Despite the fact that this was less than 24 hours after learning about the insurance denial and well before the surgery date, the office refused to return my deposit. I still had my lap band removal done on the scheduled day but couldn't proceed with the sleeve surgery due to the financial burden. The lack of flexibility and empathy from this office is appalling. They are quick to take your money but unwilling to work with you in good faith when unexpected circumstances arise. I feel taken advantage of and would caution anyone considering this office to be very wary of their policies and how they treat their patients. Save yourself the stress and find a medical provider who actually cares about their patients, not just their bottom line. read more

The communication here needs a serious upgrade. I received a bill in the mail and had to call them 10 TIMES to get a hold of someone simply just to pay my bill. I left voicemails and well as messages with an answering service on almost all of the 10 calls. Meanwhile, you know if that bill goes unpaid, they will have NO problem sending me to collections. I finally get a hold of someone and pay my bill. Over 6 weeks later, I get the same bill in the mail. I call and leave two voicemails, one requesting a CALL BACK from the manager. Then next day, I get a text message that said they "forgot to post my receipt to my account." Highly unprofessional and a little ridiculous that you have to basically harass them to PAY THEM. read more

Surgery didn't take, my husband wonders if they even did anything. I had no problems afterwards. I wasn't sore or anything, so I wondered too. I went to an appointment where I paid $36 as a co-pay then I was there two minutes and they said that my test results hadn't come in yet, so there's nothing to go over and that she will call me, she being the nutritionist. Eventually, after bugging and bugging and bugging, I called there. Talked to Tyra and she eventually called me back and went over the results. The next thing I know, I'm getting another bill for $36. There's no way to get a hold of anyone. I called Billing and they never return my calls. I called the office they don't return my call. Try calling them. They won't answer the phone I have to do everything online. They are not personable at all! go to someone else because you're after Care isn't care at all. They don't care once they get your money and they'll bill you for every little thing even if you're only there for two minutes and didn't get what i came for. they need to learn to answer their phone they need to care about their people they need to Step up and do their jobs that they're not doing it. again find somebody else the aftercare is terrible!!! read more

What an amazing process these last 9 months have been. From my own research to my first call to my surgery 2 weeks ago, this group has been amazing. They answered all my questions, helped me make the best decision for me, provided recommendations for a nutrionist and therapist. All this was so beneficial as I don't live in Las Vegas and no one in Lake Havasu, AZ does the surgery. Dr Pomeranz was easy to work with, spends as much time as needed to answer questions and doesn't "sell" you on any specific vitamins or companies. But the real "gem" is Rosa A., their manager. She answers and responds to every call and text, even helping me on a Saturday. Her "what can I do to help" attitude is appreciated and makes me feel like I've found a diamond. My surgeon is Dr. Patel and I love her. I had my initial consultation last April/May, she explained everything and didn't make me feel bad for the position I was in. I had had another consultation elsewhere and the doctor almost shamed me for it. I know I'm overweight, I've tried on my own to take control and I wasn't able to. That is why I went to get help. So my primary care doctor referred me to Las Vegas Bariatrics and I am SO happy he did. Everyone was kind, everything was clearly explained to me. My recovery was super easy and It's been so amazing to see the results in myself. So from consultation to surgery I lost 20 pounds and since surgery I've lost an additional 70, so 90 in total (so far)!! I'm active in the gym and hike now. Physical activity is no longer daunting. Dr. Hanna has the best "bedside" manner per se ... The staff is really nice and considerate of your time. They are friendly and chatty if you are with them. Dr. Hanna takes the time to speak in detail with his patients to answer any questions they might have about the procedures they are considering. I have already had Gastric Bypass surgery and have been looking to get back on track with things since having moved to Las Vegas and been dislocated from my original physician. They have support groups that have meetings at the facility (which makes it very convenient to attend) as well as monthly walks to get people out there and socializing. These people are so twisted, inconsiderate, and misleading! I went in there and was gonna get the sleeve through my insurance. I did everything they told me to do, seen all the doctors and so on. At that point I was at the perfect weight to have the surgery without having to lose but I was 30 with no other medical problems besides obesity.Then they told me I was I was at a certain weight where they weren't sure if I would get approved by my insurance because I did not have any other medical problems at the time besides being obese and I had to gain at least 50 lbs in order to get the surgery for sure. Well, I gained exactly 50 lbs like I was told and without even submitting to insurance, they told me I had to lose 50 lbs USING MOSTLY THEIR NASTY PRODUCTS like expensive supplements, shakes, vitamins etc.The same 50 lbs they told me to gain they wanted me to lose and I know why those crooks did it. If I had lost 50 lbs initially, I might be less likely to opt for surgery so they had me gain to become more dependent on them while they steadily pushed their products and their services and could keep me coming back for years to come. I gave up with them because they are cold hearted and greedy individuals, making a fortune off of the misfortune and hopelessness of others. I wish I could remember the exact names of the exact staff members I dealt with but this happened a few years ago but if you want to save yourselves hassle and heartache don't ever step foot into this office. Blossom Bariatrics is much better and they sincerely try to assist you there. And if by chance you do see yourself in that office being seen by their unprofessional staff, if they ever instruct you to do something sketchy, remember this review and get tf out of there! They are not interested in helping you! You are strictly a source of income for them! They will say whatever they have to to you to bleed you dry. Sad this was once a pristine practice from the door to all the ladies in all his departments. Today the front office has changed dramatically and not for the better. I still believe Doctor Bernie Hanna is one of the best on the planet! I just wish the front office mirrored his commitment to patients and their overall satisfaction not just their surgeries. I started at 9:45 this morning trying to get an appointment have had to call back 5 times only to be met with sarcasm as if I'm the ignorant 1. Liz asked me to have my doctor to fax the referral since now they can't Make an appointment over the phone if you have not faxed your referral over or had it faxed by your doctor. I complied the request called my doctor and asked them to fax referral. They did at 10:40 a.m. it was received by doctor Hanna's office at 10:46 a.m. unfortunately it no one called me back and at 2:30 p.m. I called back enquiring did they get the facts Liz told me at that time they got partial facts I said well did you call to tell them what you were missing she said no I said why she said I don't know why we didn't call.. After 3 times the young lady keeps telling me referral is not there So I drove 45 minutes back to my primary care physician to have them send again along withfront and back of my ID card. I sat and waited for it to go through I call back with the transmission in my hand and the young lady Liz tells me a we don't have it yet. I I mention that the email address that I was given was incorrect I even tried to send it from the doctor's office computers kept getting rejected she swears that are e-mail so I use the info@lasvegasberryaddress.com and it went through with no problem. I Mention that I have the email security receipt that tells me that at 3:31 PM it was set in at 3:36 PM it was received on their end. She got sassy. I cut her off and just asked her would you prefer I find another doctor or go back to AZ a to my original doctor since I'm the one having complications not you because it seems that this is bothering you all to try to help me see the doctor that I need in order to find out what's going on she had no come back no snappy remark for that I hope and pray I get to see doctor Hanna, not betting on it will update later. read more

I came in ON FEB 14 2019 I thought this was a dream i thought this was a dream I was going through i met DR.HANNA AND HIS STAFF they are down to earth and made me feel so loved i knew i was going to change my lifestyle for the better.They weighed me told me the process i prayed about this.i woke up on my birthday July 10th 2019 it was the blessing and best news the nurse at DR.HANNA OFFICE called me told me i was approved for the surgery i got chills I started crying i received a letter as well in the mail... i went in a week before to do my preop to get ready i knew i was ready to change for the better all i wanted was to have energy to go to park play with my neices n nephew slide and play soccer with them be a kid again my goal one day soon will be will is run a marathon i now can walk 4 miles non stop go up and down my stairs from my apt without stopping i go to the park chase my sisters kids around go the mountains Without being out of breath I am 5 months post op and I have lost 65 pounds my seizures i used to have 27 seizures a nights there under control my neoropathy was out of control blood pressure was horrible that is normal Cholesterol is normal as well I can sleep 5 to 6 hours and I am backup at 5 o'clock in the morning ready to get up and clean that is all I do all day long I don't know what doctor Hannah has done to me but he is a God he is a miracle worker and I am thankful for him and his staff I would recommend him to anybody to get this weight loss surgery i dont crave soda crackers junk food all i want is veggies fruit and protein shakes HE IS A BLESSING I THANK HIM AND THE STAFF FOR SAVING MY LIFE FOR THE BETTER... read more

I can not say enough good things about this place. Having bariatric surgery has a lot of steps and I feel like they held my hand and made everything easy for me. Especially Mariah!!! I love her so much she's so pleasant and friendly and knowledgeable, just like the rest of the staff. I don't know if it's my body but the surgery felt like a piece of cake. After the first two days at the hospital ( I deal really badly with anesthesia) I came home and started living my lifee as if nothing had happened. Maybe I'm ignorant, but I feel like because Dr. Hanna is so knowledgeable and experienced that because of it I haven't experienced heartburn or even nausea???? I'm not sure hahaha but I feel like I couldn't have picked a betTer doctor. Thank goodness my insurance covered him!!!!! The only thing I regret was buying the post op products from there because they were super overpriced, like liquacel and bipro can be bought online for way cheaper and the same thing. But the vitamins are the same price as online. Anyway I feel like everyone should give this place a chance if you're considering surgery. If only for dr. Hanna himself :) read more

I should've known when they lost my paperwork from the start. I physically handed it to someone in their administrative suite in a red folder. Hello HIPAA!! Had to do it all over again. For one of my appointments, I was there for about 3 hours. I was the last person in the building besides the doctor and a staff member (way after 5pm). Appointments are not very comprehensive and take about 15 minutes. They make you feel like just a number ushering you in and out. The customer service is severely lacking all the way around. I never once met Dr. Hanna. I didn't even know he wouldn't be the one performing my surgery until much later down the road. Oh surgery...I was left on 24/7 oxygen and no one can tell me why. I was discharged the day after surgery. I was asked if I was ready to go home. I said NO. I was discharged anyway. Home health sent me right back to the hospital the next day in an ambulance. Almost had to have a blood transfusion. I have to wait weeks to see a lung doctor (surgeon can't help) to find out what is going on. No one cares. Surgeon literally said to me, "but, you're stable on oxygen so it's not an emergency." Maybe not to you...but it is to me. I'm supposed to return to work in a few days. I will be taking the oxygen with me. Had a scheduled telehealth appointment for today. I called 30 minutes prior. I was told, "you'll get a link." Nope. I called the office and they said my appointment was "in person." That is not what I was told when they made the appointment, confirmed the appointment last week and when I called today. I'm tired of being nice. I'm a patient and a customer. Had I had known any of this, I would've 100% gone somewhere else. The office staff need to be trained in customer service and phone etiquette. They just blind transfer or put you on hold. 99% of the time, they transfer you to a voicemail. I've been transferred and hung up on several times. I was even left on hold for so long one time, the office closed and my call was not taken that day. When you're in the lobby, the receptionists are busy chatting with each other. Almost no accountability. There might be one or two people that are actually nice and have apologized. But, it's too many of their staff. One or two out of ??? They say to call anytime but they don't put their money (my money/my insurance money) where their mouth is. The way I look at it, they have an obligation for post op care. They way they look at it? We got that money! I have to constantly call and check up on them when it really should be the other way around. I am so dissatisfied and unhappy. I was referred to Dr. Hanna for a hernia repair. Let me first say that the girl that answered the phone that made my first initial appointment was so nice! She was really trying to help fit me in based on my work schedule. The girls at the desk were very friendly & helpful. When my husband and I went for the consultation we arrived early to fill out the usual paperwork. Then right when my appointment was scheduled they called me back. Wow! A Dr. that is on time (or even close) is unusual. Lol! When Dr. Hanna walked in with that big smile he just put me at ease. He's a real Dr. that you can talk to and that listens without trying to rush you out like he has to move on. Gary & I really like him. He answered all my husbands questions and then all my silly question and answers at a second follow-up appointment. I amazingly only have 2 tiny little 1/4" scars that are fading out of a total of 7 laparoscopic incisions. Yes, he's that Good!! I scar terribly & wish he was a plastic surgeon I could keep him busy for awhile. haha! I can't say enough about the staff they all were super nice when I was there or called. Especially Angela when I called to make an appointment I had been very sick & had several questions for Dr. Hanna.Angela was so sweet she took the time to listen & answer all of them that she could then scheduled me the first available appointment when Dr. Hanna was available. Office was nice. Great atmosphere. Front office people were super friendly. Nurses were great. The doctor is experienced and friendly. He gives good advice. I didn't like the fact that he did not want to help me discontinue a medication my last prescribed. He told me to call them. The doctor is in another state and he referred me to this doctor. I'm on a weight loss pill and can't just abruptly stop. The reason for 4 stars, is because the exit desk lady was not friendly at all. Which was strange because I've dealt with her through email and she seemed nice. Maybe she was having a bad day. Also didn't like the fact that I now have to make 1 appointment for blood draw at their new office and then another for results. I didn't understand why it couldn't be done that day.
