Do yourself a favor and go out for something different. Haitian cuisine. You can score some good cookin' right here my friend. I came here with my family & the kids were a little put off. You know how sometimes the kids want PB & J or Pizza or...? This was one of those times. The way we deal with that is-fine, don't order anything, no problem. One of my kids ordered...French Fries. My wife and I ordered our meals and I had possibly the juiciest, most succulent shrimp I have had for quite awhile-perfectly cooked. The sauce was a delicious tomato based affair with onions and peppers, with brown rice & beans and Bean Sauce on the side, some fried plantains...we were in good shape. At least we were in good shape until the kids got a whiff of our dinners and started with a tentative, "Can I smell that?" Sniffs the sauce. "Can I taste that?" This led pretty quickly to my oldest chowing on most of my shrimp-but that's ok, I was lovin' the Rice & Beans and the portions here are very generous. Check out the pictures. That's my shrimp dish...about 1/2 eaten already. On a Friday night around 7 there were only a couple tables in use, but there was a constant stream of locals picking up take out orders...always a good sign. As we were leaving the chef popped his head out of the kitchen to see how we enjoyed our meal. I'm not sure why it's called Las Vegas Seafood, but this is definitely a case of "Don't judge a book by it's cover." 3.5 Stars

Fried chicken and brown rice. $5 special

I ordered the $5 special of fried chicken and brown rice. The chicken is very dry. Rice is good.

The meat is too dry. They fried the meat too much, and the fritay was too salty. They did not follow the instructions.

Best Haitian place in town. Hands down, the closest thing to grandma's cooking you will find.

If you're looking for authentic Haitian food, this is the place! Service could be a little better, but the food makes up for any of that

For sides, we got Black Rice, Sweet Plantains, Green Plantains, Rice & Beans. Wow, what a superb meal. Everything was delicious. They also go a little light in the salt which I loved. There wasn't a single dish in there that I didn't like. The chicken was tender, the stew and legumes were flavorful, the rice was well cooked, the tostones were crispy, and the sweet plantains were truly ripe. I honestly wish they had a combo where they could do three mains and six sides cuz I would be into that! And a special shout out to the compostable packaging. Loved it.

Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. While the staff was friendly and welcoming, there was a little lack of coordination in the service but not so much that it detracted from the overall service. I decided to order the fried chicken, hoping for a flavorful experience, that Creole food is typical of, but I was sorely disappointed to find that it was completely devoid of seasoning--absolutely none! The taste was bland, and I found myself unable to enjoy it at all. After a few bites, I realized I couldn't force myself to eat it, so I ended up tossing it in the trash. Given that I was already some distance away from the restaurant at my next stop, returning it wasn't an option. I did take the time to call the restaurant and voice my concerns, but they l didn't offer any form of credit or compensation for the issue, so it only reinforced my decision not to return, as I couldn't see myself taking another chance on a meal that fell so flat. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, especially considering the hype surrounding this place.
