First time in this restaurant, the service was great. Very friendly. The ambience was nice, not too busy on a Sunday afternoon. The food was mid, I ordered three different dishes because I was so excited to try this place. The oxtail ok it was not amazing like I thought it would be, the taste was bland and it was not spicy at all. I have to say the oxtail was very soft and well cooked but it was missing flavor. I also ordered the reggae crab because I love seafood, this dish was not worth the money! It was only legs of dungeon crab, no claws no body just a couple of crab legs in sauce! After we entered this big, handsome place, we were surprised that we were the only customers - true, it was early in the day, and maybe we should come back at night. We ordered only 4 plates of patties (2 on each plate) , mac and cheese, and callaloo, and a Red Stripe that came in a chilled mug. Went back here today because I was craving good food. Customer service was great again, and the owner remembered me. I ordered the chicken platta with: Curry chicken (wish it had more potatoes) Jerk chicken (so good) Bbq jerk chicken (my favorite) & fried plantains, they weren't anything special. I ordered a side of oxtails & for the price I would've expected a little more, but things are going up these days. Also, it may have been smarter if I ordered a dinner with the oxtails and I would've had more rice for everything. The boneless snapper was really good, and had a lot of flavor! The cabbage my cousin really enjoyed. The only thing I would change is adding another scoop of rice to go with all of the meats that come with the platta. Its nice to see a nice size sit down Jamaican restaurant. Upon entering i was greeted by about 3 employees. The hostess took our temperature as well as our phone numbers for contact tracing to be safe. The staff was all very friendly and the waiexplained the different meals on the menu. I started with Oxtail spring rolls (yes yes yes)($9.99 for 3), dumplings($3 for 4) and shrimp plantain cups($5.99 for 3). The cups had a little spice and very flavorful. The cashier/takeout young woman is horrible! Idk what's her problem but she's very rude and I've spent over $150 in the last 3orders plus tip. I will call Mr & Mrs Thompson to complain about her because her customer skills need help. Curry chicken wasn't fully cooked (lots of pink), beef Pattie was microwaved (look at the microwave directly behind the mean cashier girl).
