    Side House Salad
    Michelle B.

Celebrated today with my family for my birthday. The waiter honestly wasn't that impressive. He was a younger gentlemen that was not consistent with getting drinks what so ever. I went my entire meal without a refill. Overall I felt like he picked and chose who he was actually going to help. The feel of the restaurant is the same as it opened. It is an old school Italian restaurant feel. I had the chicken piccata which was a huge portion of a pasta. I really enjoyed the house salad with great dressing on it. I'd have more of it if possible.

The restaurant experience during my first visit created a positive impression. The restaurant provides a peaceful and charming environment which creates an ideal space to enjoy a casual dining experience. The food quality impressed me more than the service which maintained a neutral level of quality. I chose to eat meatballs with meat sauce and melted mozzarella as well as sausage with peppers and a pepperoni and cheese pizza. The delicious preparation of each dish made the dining experience truly satisfying. The food quality at this establishment earned an 8 out of 10 rating from me.

Awesome place! Great Italian food and ambiance is fitting and comforting. Francisco was a great waiter. It was also all great for the price! I recommend it if you're in the area and have a taste for Italian.

Great side salad. Very good house Italian.

Fairly expensive but it is so worth it. We used to go here often enough when we lived in Houston. We visited recently and it has that same old world type charm to it. Such attention to detail in regards to the food. Cooked al dente my pasta and sauce. Same with the veal and eggplant parm. Such a polite and courteous server as well. Very good and will probably go again next time we visit.

We stumbled upon this spot & although the food isn't the best, the service makes up for it. Once we entered, the server greeted us right away. I'm not sure what her name was, but she was a sweetheart. Making sure our drinks were filled and we never ran out of complimentary garlic breads. The clientele seems to be on the older side and it looks like they've been regulars for a long time. We were the youngest people there and mind you we ain't spring chickens ourselves. But I'm happy to see George's has a lot of loyal customers. While the portions are huge and more than enough to take home, the prices are a bit steep for my liking & it doesn't match the quality either. The food is decent but not worth 25-30 dollars with those dishes. My date ordered the chicken Parmesan with pasta and I got my basic spaghetti with extra meat sauce. Both dishes were generous especially mine. They were not playing around on my dish. It was so much meat sauce that you couldn't even see any pasta. I thought his chicken Parmesan and my spaghetti was very strong in the tomato sauce department maybe a little too much. I like mine to have other seasonings to balance the acidity from the tomato sauce. Overall it was not a bad meal, it was so much food I had enough for lunch the next morning. The free garlic bread came out hot and fresh, fluffy on the inside and flaky on the outside. The service is warm and welcoming & even the owner came by to check in on us. Will I come back? Yes.

This is not a place to eat pasta, it is a place to buy pasta you can prepare at home. It is located in a small and nondescript retail strip center on Campbell Road just north of I-10. Inside this tiny little shop you will find a place to get a cup of Italian Coffee and some pastries. You will also find some outstanding and very authentic Italian sandwiches. They generally have three or four to chose from for lunch. Seating is limited to a table or two inside and a table or two out front. (Yes it is that small.) Taking pride of place is the pasta kitchen, where the fresh pasta and sauces are made. Casetta is owned and run by a husband and wife team. The husband is from Italy and brings his passion for food with him. The available pastas, sauces and sausages are on display in two large refrigerators. Generally, I stop by for a sandwich and get some of the pasta and sauces for later in the week. There about 10 pastas and ravioli to chose from. Since Italians have very firm opinions on what sauces go with each pasta I always ask! For example I select a pasta or two.....then let them select the sauce to go with it. Give it a try. I don't think that you will be disappointed.

They have fresh authentic Italian Ingredients! They have frozen Italian delicacy's you can buy like pastas, Mac n cheese, sauces, Italian sausages and more. They also make their own Italian pasta in house! They have a small coffee section, bread section and authentic Italian imported drink section. I opted in for their fresh sandwiches on focaccia bread I got the prosciutto sandwich and my wife got the caprese. My sandwich consisted of fresh arugula, (I forgot the cheese), prosciutto, balsamic vinaigrette on focaccia bread. The sandwich simply took me back to my time in Florence! The food delivered is ok; nothing that will scream gourmet but the way they do their eggplant parmesan and the pork chop (the favorite entrees of my girlfriend and her mother) with mashed potatoes and broccoli sides somehow always have them ordering from here more than once. Personally, I always told them not to order me anything cause I had negative bias towards most chain places. Well my opinion changed one day on Christmas Eve as we were heading to Katy and looking for a place to have dinner before our lights event at the Katy Mills mall. Every restaurant we went to was closed; except for this one. And I figured since my girlfriend and her mother would love this place, might as well give it a shot. Now I'm on board the Carrabba's train. I give props to the hostess and service staff as this place operated like it was on steriods considering how many people popped in here (since it was one of the very few establishments open for dining on Christmas Eve). Service was very attentive as our server Jessica gave us some good wine recommendations and told us about the BOGO options for entrees (although tempting, we declined it since we had plenty of eats at home for the holidays). Caesar salads served had balanced amounts of dressing and parmesan. The complimentary bread has the olive oil and parm topping to dip in which kept us over while we waited for entrees. Being my first time here, I decided on the chicken trio with a side of penne w/ marinara. Pretty tasty dish as you get chicken breast three ways (marsala, tuscan, and some other one I can't remember). The penne is basic penne w/ tomato sauce that tasted like it was store-bought but the star of course is the chicken which is solid. My girlfriend got the eggplant parmesan (her go-to) while her mother decided on the salmon instead of the pork chop due to a dental issue. The salmon was tender and she enjoyed it. Chain restaurants are hit or miss; depends on the location and who's managing it. Looks like this one is managed well as we enjoyed our dining experience here and I'm proud I popped my Carrabba's cherry at this location.

We met for what we thought would be dinner earlier this week. I brought a small Bota Box of wine. We were finally greeted about 20 minutes after being seated. The person who sat us was the same person to come back and ask if we wanted wanted water or food. The problem with this was her English was very poor. We sat for a minute to figure out if we wanted to stay. My friend ran to the store to get a bottle of wine for herself and we figured we would settle in there for the night. I saw 3 people who worked there that night. The same 3 people were exceptionally busy, very little English, and I honestly felt bad for them. We drank our wine and thought about the meal, but at this point it was already 7:50 PM and we were told they closed at 8:00 PM. I was very confused because a couple walked in right after we were told they were closing and that couple was seated and started their ordering process. I think it all adds up to a communication issue due to language barrier, but it's going to be tough to go back after such a strange night of confusion. The decor is nice and it seems like it has potential, but they need to get that liquor license stat! A little tip: There is one bathroom downstairs. The hallway to the bathroom is very dark. The light switch inside the women's one person bathroom is upside down. I was a little out of sorts with how dark it was and then I had trouble turning on the light. Thought I would mention it to help others. One good thing, they do have nice toilet paper. I'm really trying to give this place some credit! After receiving a comment on my review from the owner, I have a couple of updates to address. We were not there to take advantage of a free drinking venue. My friend and I enjoy trying new restaurants, and this was on our list. The first turn off was not being able to get answers about the menu from our waitress. I understand there was an English barrier, but I don't understand how someone can be an order taker without having the ability to communicate the menu. We were offered three different times to eat, but in between those times we were told the restaurant was closing and due to the first issue, I wasn't sure what to eat. Lastly, I am a great tipper and my friend is an exceptional tipper. I almost always do 20% and my friend is more of a 25% tipper. I wasn't sure how to tip when there wasn't much service. Neither one of us had cash on us, and we discussed that fact, so if we would've had a bill that came after our MEAL, there would've definitely been a tip. Appreciating the time I took to write the review, does not warrant everything we experienced at your restaurant. Not only was I excited to try any new restaurant, but it is also conveniently located to my home. I was hopeful this was going to be a new place to try multiple times. I am happy to give it another try now that I know what I know, and I'll even update my review accordingly. Please have your staff available to answer questions. How do you expect your customers to communicate if the staff can't communicate with the customers?
