Lasagna House is a beloved local institution! I grew up on the west side of town and have been enjoying LH since before they even moved to the current location on Eldridge. Throughout my 20 year career at a nearby Energy Corridor based Fortune 100 company, colleagues have continued to enjoy the consistent and affordable fare. The garlic bread is always the perfect combination of crispy exterior and chewy interior. Love, LOVE their salad with house made Gorgonzola dressing. (I've known multiple women who craved this salad during pregnancy!) We have served pans of lasagna, bread and salad at numerous holiday and family events over the past three decades. Always been greeted by helpful and pleasant servers, who even maintain their friendly composure during the crazy Christmas Eve rush when the pick-up line is 30 people deep and extends out onto the sidewalk. Pizza is great, too. If you are new to the area, check them out. Or, if it has been a while since your last visit, it is time to go back for Italian food that feels like a warm hug! I've been passing by this place for a while and finally stopped in for lunch to give it a try. The service was excellent, my server was genuinely kind and attentive. The bread was addictive and really good, and the salad was decent with a generous portion. Unfortunately, the lasagna was a letdown. It reminded me of Chef Boyardee. Not fresh or authentic, and lacking flavor overall. This was especially disappointing since lasagna is in the restaurant's name and is supposed to be their specialty. I ordered the five-cheese lasagna, and I have to say it was delicious. I also got the lunch special, which included a small salad and garlic bread. Everything tasted very good, and the portion was satisfying. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. I found this restaurant through Google, and one of the reasons I chose it was because the lunch prices appeared to be a great value. However, when I arrived to pick up my order, the cashier informed me that the Google prices were incorrect. If management is aware that the prices are wrong, they should update them. Advertising one price online and charging another is misleading and frustrating for customers. I was also surprised to learn that the lunch portion was only about a dollar less than the dinner portion, which was different from what was advertised online. What disappointed me most was how this information was communicated. The cashier was not particularly kind or customer-focused, and another employee giggled during the interaction, which felt unprofessional and dismissive. While the food was good, customer service is an important part of the dining experience. Because of this experience, I won't be returning. Celebrated today with my family for my birthday. The waiter honestly wasn't that impressive. He was a younger gentlemen that was not consistent with getting drinks what so ever. I went my entire meal without a refill. Overall I felt like he picked and chose who he was actually going to help. The feel of the restaurant is the same as it opened. It is an old school Italian restaurant feel. I had the chicken piccata which was a huge portion of a pasta. I really enjoyed the house salad with great dressing on it. EVERYTHING WAS HORRIBLE! The first thing I noticed was the waiter only had about 3 teeth (gross) he first asked if we knew what we wanted or wanted to see a menu. We (my brother and I) don't assume everyone is a couple. We both ordered the lasagna- considering that is what the company's name is, I expected that it would be good- I don't know what they brought us, it was a mound of something drowned in spaghetti sauce. As we were finishing, we couldn't get rid of the waiter, I told him, "thank you, okay" several times and he wouldn't leave, he even walked us to the door. The food quality impressed me more than the service which maintained a neutral level of quality. Fairly expensive but it is so worth it. We used to go here often enough when we lived in Houston. We visited recently and it has that same old world type charm to it. Such attention to detail in regards to the food. Cooked al dente my pasta and sauce. Same with the veal and eggplant parm. Such a polite and courteous server as well. I was in the mood for lasagna and heard about Lasagna House, so I decided to give it a try. The location was easy to find, but upon entering, I felt like I had stepped into a time warp. The restaurant's decor was severely outdated and in need of a thorough cleaning and some design revamping; the space felt cluttered. The service was good but make sure you check your food before you leave. I ordered the Meatlover Lasagna, The Godfather Lasagna, meatballs, and mozzarella sticks. While the lasagna was decent, the sauce had an unpleasant canned flavor, which was quite off-putting, and the meat lacked seasoning, making it rather bland. I would recommend this place if you're not expecting a truly authentic homemade sauce or season meat. read more

I asked for now sauce on my noodles because I always feel like it's too much sauce but that's my personal opinion. It was delicious! The eggplant was cooked very nicely. Perfect ratio of sauce and cheese. The sauce had a very good flavor and I was very happy with my choice of no extra sauce on the noodles. I just added Parmesan to the noodles and ate it with bites of the Parmesan. So good. A few of my family got the traditional lasagna and meat lovers lasagna. They all cleaned their plates. My wife and I droped in for lunch due to the good reviews. We went with fried calamari for appetizer. Wife had chicken Picata and for me, chicken Primavera. The calamari was excellent. The seasoned coating was light and not oily. The calamari was not chewy. My pasta was cooked perfectly. However, I found the veggies were just a tab under cooked. Also there was just a little too much olive oil for my liking. My wife said her chicken Picata was perfect. The garlic bread that came with our meal was the bomb, best we ever had in years. Pretty solid place for Italian food. I have to say the standout dish here was the carbonara, which my friend ordered. I fell in love at first bite. So creamy and delicious... but not too heavy at the same time. Loved the use of pancetta here. Calamari was crispy and seasoned well. The cutlet for the parmigiana was breaded well and had good texture. (I believe I had veal). The pasta and red sauce was a bit underwhelming though. The service is superb and the atmosphere is classy/causal. I've come here a few times over the years and the food, the portion size, and the service keeps me coming back. This particular night hubby and I came in with a few friends on a Saturday night and the place was surprisingly empty. We ordered stuffed mushrooms with crawfish, but I didn't see or taste crawfish. They still were very tasty. My salad was just ok because the house Italian dressing had very little flavor. When it came to dinner everyone enjoyed their meals except my husband. His chicken masala, was not what he expected and it had no flavor, I mean no seasoning! Aside from those two things everything else was excellent. read more

Italian American food is growing on me. I usually get my fix from my Mum who makes the best spaghetti, homemade meatballs, and lasagna. However, I've been ordering spaghetti and meat sauce from a chain restaurant but looking at other restaurants made me come across this restaurant. I remember coming here before 4 years ago with my date at the time. He really loved this place and the saving sizes. The staff was very friendly and professional with a steady flow of customers who seemed like regulars. This restaurant has a cozy feel to it. It is in an unassuming establishment in a quiet strip mall. I remember ordering the lasagna and I think he got the Alfredo. I'm sure we finished our entrees because we got the absolute delicious cheesecake! That cheesecake was so good I hated to share it. The food was delicious too. If it's still around: The place has a great following or it's good....or it can be both. In this case...both. I got it delivered for I wanted to stay warm and watch football. I went here for the 3rd time ever and ordered my favorite dish from Lasagna House being the Meat-lover Lasagna. The complimentary appetizer salad was very good, fresh and tasty with garlic and tanginess. My meat lasagna was very delicious, hearty, rich, moist and flavorful in numerous ways. The pasta layers were very fresh and soft. The red sauce was not only abundant, but very tasty, loose and had a great tomato base combined with holding an ideal blend of sweetness n tartness. The cheese was thick and very tasty. The ground meat was very tasty, really savory with a bold prep, well-seasoned and juicy. Every bite had differences in ingredients that came together so nicely. This establishment has one of the best lasagnas in TX imo. I also need to try the Gnocchi here next since I love good gnocchi and save room for dessert next time too, js. What a great, dependable Italian restaurant. I had the Meat Lovers Lasagna and it was perfect. The red sauce is a perfect balance of sweet and tangy. Their tomato sauce is probably my favorite in the city. I always love their endless bread service. I asked for olive oil to dip it in, which they brought, and it's top-shelf. Their house salad with house balsamic is perfection. It's tart and herby. I've recently been to a few "5 star" Italian places where the prices are twice as high as LH III, and I will say the choice is clearly in LH III's favor. read more

Reccomend this ovef pene pasta or linguini with one or two added meatballs. Enough food for two meals. So funny - a blast from the past for me, I came to this place fairly often as a kid with my family and their friends for the weekend meals out. It has not changed a bit, and I mean that in a good way. Staff still treats you like family, so friendly and accommodating. The ambiance is familiar and antiquated, like a step back in time. The food menu contains all of your Italian standards for super fair prices, something I think is quite difficult to find in most Italian places throughout the city that charge an arm and a leg for flour and egg. This place is no frills, so come for good, comforting Italian food in a place where you will feel instantly welcomed to enjoy the meal and hang out a while. read more

If you know what Italian food should taste like don't bother eating here. The restaurant had old style decor. In need of an update. At the very least, the bathrooms were clean. From the fried ravioli appetizer (which on another day I would absolutely get by itself for lunch) to the garlic bread & salad, to the lasagnas and shrimp scampi, it was all delicious. Table service was welcoming and it was comfortable enough seating, although the tables could use a little more spacing as I'm not a big person but was tapping elbows with the guy seated at the table near me. I'm not a salad eater, (my mom commented that she didn't know when the last time was that she's seen me eating a salad) but I gave the salad with the house vinaigrette a try, and I'm not at all upset that I did. I enjoyed the salad dressing especially, and would gladly purchase a bottle of that to take home. After battling with my Godfather that we would NOT be going to a certain big chain "Italian Restaurant" that I won't name here, he had The Godfather. He enjoyed it, and his plate showed it. My dad had the Sausage Lasagna, which he mentioned had sausage in every bite (which is of high importance). The lasagnas had plenty of cheese and sauce, not dry like the restaurant we avoided. If you like a good "cheese pull" the lasagnas here have it. But let's talk about this shrimp scampi because that's what I and my mom had. She said hers was really good, and that everything tastes homemade. This is true. The shrimp were cooked to perfection and the dish itself was seasoned well. The scampi sauce... *chefs kiss*; I ordered extra on mine but honestly, it didn't need it. I don't like dry pasta and this was not that, even without the extra sauce ! Food was very flavorful. All dishes I posted pics of were delicious. But I wish the chicken parm was a little thicker. They were cutlets. The cream/fettuccine sauce wasn't as flavorful as In the past. But it was still good. So was the gluten free pasta. All other dishes eaten were delicious. I didn't get pics of the never ending salad and garlic bread. YUM. Only reason I'm giving 4 stars was the service. It wasn't that crowded but could have been short handed. Who knows. It was slow.
