I usually cab to the airport or take the el during high traffic times, but my fiance and I decided we needed another plan when flying out on Thanksgiving morning. There's nothing quite like stressing over finding a cab at 5 am on Thanksgiving morning- no thank you. So our plan was LaSalle Limousine (thanks to Ang & Misse's wonderful reviews). They usually charge $49 for a ride to o'hare, but due to the holiday it was $59. More expensive than a cab & much more expensive than the el...but worth it in my opinion. Our very nice driver (I consider anyone to be very nice who works at 5 am on Thanksgiving Day) was waiting for us when my sleepy fiance and I made our way downstairs. And we were at the airport within 20 minutes. Definitely something I'd look into again if I was worried about finding a cab. read more

TERRIBLE. We booked a limo bus for our wedding to drive the entire wedding party downtown for pictures, and it NEVER SHOWED UP. Not only did they NOT show up, but they didn't even call. I booked Lasalle Limousine to take my bridesmaids and I to my wedding ceremony. The driver arrived on time and overall, had a friendly demeanor. As we were getting in the limo, the driver told me that he did not know how to get to the church. This was very irritating to me, considering his profession. Why do limo companies ask for the start and end destination addresses if they don't even bother looking up directions? After about 15 seconds in the limo, we realized that the AC was broken. Our drive took about 50 minutes and it was about 94 degrees outside that day in August. Did I mention this was my wedding day? Instead of kicking back in the limo drinking champagne, I was sweating like a pig with my eyes glued to the road to make sure we got the the ceremony. read more

This is my go to company for a ride. Why? Lets see... I used to travel weekly for work- at least one trip. They were ALWAYS on time- even when I had 6 am flights out of Ohare. i could depend on them- even if I overslept. Pack the night before, they would call when they got to my house, wake me up, I would jump up, throw on clothes, brush my teeth grab my suitcase and run out the door. I had a favorite driver at this time... he would often arrive with coffee for me- GOD what a man!! Now that things have changed and I travel less (2-3 times per month) I still use them! I don't think my driver is still here, but they are still on time, courteous, and the price is great!! I have to say- they do treat their customers well! I needed a car service for a trip across town-and due to the date- it was gonna be really bad traffic. I called, they quoted me a great price for pick up and drop off, I can make my tests, not worry about random tourists walking where I cannot see them, and get where I need to go and back. I have also used them to drive me to and from the milwaukee airport- great rates there too! More than just airport service- I do recommend them! Sad that I've not reviewed these guys yet. My experience with LaSalle Limo service is limited to only the two following types of vehicles: Sedan and the shortest of the Limo's. I've yet to had a negative experience with them: Punctuality: 10 of out 5. They've never been late. Ever. Not when I was an undergrad at NU, not when I lived in Streeterville, not when I lived in Bridgeport, not when my parents needed them, and get this, not even when I lived as an "urban pioneer" on the west side. If anything, I've peeked out my window 10 minutes before ride time, and there they are waiting. At around 5 minutes before ride time, I'll see the driver dial his cell phone and a few seconds later mine will ring. Cleanliness of Cars: 4 out of 5. I've only had one instance where the little minibar area in one of the standard limos had like...saltine crumbs it in or something. All the other times the cars have been immaculate inside. The exteriors are always very clean too with one exception that I'm not docking points for. I had a flight in February out of O'Hare, and the car that pulled up was slightly dirty. But guess what? There was snow on the ground. And salt. He had probably just had the car washed the night before too. Poor guy. Oh, also - there is one older Lincoln Towncar that has purple tints on the windows. They look like the type you buy yourself and stick on. I'd consider upgrading those if I were the company/driver. Pricing: 5 out of 5. For what it is (a limo service), the pricing is competitive with any other companies. Frequently you can find 5 dollar off coupons either on their website or in little magazines. Friendliness of Drivers: 5 out of 5. Can't complain here. Always courteous, always try to make conversation with me and my traveling companions. A big plus at 5 in the morning. Knowledge of Locations: 4 out of 5. With relying on GPS comes a few downsides: in the instances where the waypoint on the GPS is slightly off, the driver may have to circle around if he isn't familiar with the area. This happened only once, and that was when I was going to the Peggy N. Nature Museum for a formal event. I mean, getting to the airports isn't really an issue because there's only so many ways you can get to the terminals. And the number of ways is usually...one. Overall: 5 out of 5. read more

I recently moved up to Lincoln Square and was concerned about trying to find a cab to take me to Midway at 5:00 in the morning. A co-worker recommended Lasalle Limo and at first I balked at the idea of hiring a car as it seemed pretty pretentious. But my fear of being late to the airport won out and I gave them a call. The driver showed up 5 minutes early, the car was immaculately clean, and the driver was very friendly. The price was comparable to a cab ride as well. Had to wow my folks.. just had 2 hours to plan and book a limo.. Called multiple Limo services just to be told I need to give them at least 24 hours notice.. Dialed Lasalle Limo at 6:00 PM and Viola! I had a Limo pull up exactly at 8:00 PM as I was promised. The driver with long hair (forget his name now) was courteous and made us feel comfortable throughout the ride. Adjusted the air conditioning as couple of times on request. He even gladly offered to take our pictures at a particular stop. We changed our route a couple of times and he was friendly enough to accommodate all our requests. The limo was clean, was stocked with water and beverages as we had requested. The ride was very smooth and my family thoroughly enjoyed their experience. It was pretty impressive overall. I will definitely call them the next time I am in need of a Limo service. There's nothing really spectacular about them, but they definitely did the job! We're going to use them again the next time we have an early flight (February). We thought for our honeymoon we might as well get a car to take us to the airport. I wasn't about to take the Blue Line all the way from the S. Loop when our flight left at 8am. Since there was little traffic early, we got to Ohare in about 25 minutes for about the same price as a cab, except with a friendly driver who was on time and in a much nicer car! read more

They have the best rates I've found in the city and their service is top notch. I always get fast responses via email or phone. I've taken a few limos in my time but La Salle has been the best so far. Being picked up in a stretched white limo just to go to the airport was a bit much but kind of funny at the same time. The diver was on time and quick to get our bags. What was most impressive was that he already knew which terminal to drop us off at (considering we had the wrong on, it was much appreciated) (note to others not all international flights are out of terminal 5). Of the way back, I called and they knew who I was right away. They said a car was already sent and should be there by the time I get to baggage, as if they were tracking my flight. I am checking out car services from downtown Chicago to O'Hare. Home James, Chase, Echo, and LaSalle have similar rates EXCEPT ........ LaSalle charges an additional $4.00 airport tax for GOING TO O'HARE. I know for a fact that the tax is only for airport pickups and told the agent this several times, yet he kept insisting that the tax is charged both for coming from and going to the airport. My husband called over a week before I did, and was told the same thing after telling the agent that it is only a one way tax. They have a $4.00 discount if you mention their YELP ad, but not everyone comes here first. I guess that discount would eliminate the wrongful $4.00 charge - but that doesn't make up for them over-changing to begin with. This is a dishonest, cheap rip off and I am crossing them off of my list. $4.00 isn't anything, but I hate being lied to and taken advantage of. read more

We used LaSalle Limousine to transport us to O'Hare for our very early morning flight. They arrived early, were professional and courteous, and the cars were very clean. The one drawback? Price. A car service is pricey, I know this. But by the time we got hit with a holiday fee, and an early morning pickup fee, we were looking at a bill more than twice that of taking a regular cab. The driver was 20 minutes late to pick me up for my own wedding! We called 3 times and the dispatcher kept promising that the the driver was down the street. We finally decided to ditch the limo, and right when we had hailed a few cabs to accommodate everyone, we saw the limo down the street. In the middle of a high profile corner, the driver attempts to do a three point turn to pick us up on the other side of the street. He was backing up and about to hit cars in the middle of Oak street, when several drivers start honking at him to stop. He was about 1 inch away from hitting the cars. We finally piled in to the limo, and as we approach the venue, the driver gets lost! We had to give him directions the last few blocks. If you want a reliable limo company to transport you and your wedding party, I urge you to use another limo company. As a side note, when I made the reservation, the dispatcher told me that for every minutes we kept the driver waiting, we would be charged $10. However, there was no discourse when the driver was 20 minutes late driving the bride, groom, and wedding party to the wedding. A holes..... read more

I booked them for a ride to O'hare and home from a return flight. If I was rating them based on the ride TO the airport I'd give them 5 stars as the driver was not only prompt, but 10 minutes early for a 5am pick up. He was personable, a good driver and got us there promptly. The return ride was another story. It was difficult to coordinate the pick up. When the driver finally came, he was not very friendly. He took a wrong turn (they don't appear to use GPS). When we got to our place the driver expected to be paid in cash, even though I used a credit card on the first trip and was assured by the person who booked the trip that I could use a credit card. Not having $60.00 cash the driver scrambled for a credit card slip for about 10 minutes while I stood outside in the freezing cold. He couldn't find one and so scribbled my cc # on a piece of scratch paper and had me sign that. It's been a week and the charge hasn't shown up on my statement. So while I may have gotten a free ride, it wasn't worth it. It was "creepy". Would not use this company again. Next time, back to good old Chicago cabs. read more

Despite my explicit request at the time of the reservation, "whatever you do, please don't send a stretch Hummer!" Guess what pulled up 30 minutes late to take my bride -to-be to the church? That's right, a pimped-out stretch Hummer. Oh it gets better, in addition to being late to the church. The ass-clown driver decided to have words with the Priest about being late! I couldn't believe it. I'm not the most religious guy in the world, but I think it is universally understood that nobody (including atheists) should call priests, rabbis, and mullahs liars. After the ceremony, we get into two limos. Limo One was supposed to take the out-of-town guests back to the hotel and then his shift was done. Limo Two was supposed to take the wedding party to various spots in the city for pictures. So, I am in Limo Two and we go to get pictures taken downtown. About a half hour into the photo session, I notice an empty Limo One pulls up next to a parked Limo Two. Assuming he was just waiting for the other driver, I didn't think much of it. About ten minutes later, both drivers want to talk to me (when I am supposed to be taking pictures with my bride and wedding party). They need to get paid and here is when the shakedown begins: Limo One driver tells me he needs to be paid $1,000 IN CASH. Which is odd, because when I made the reservation, I was told that it could be handled via credit card. So here is our conversation: Drv: I am supposed to be paid $1,000 in cash. Me: Well, that's not going to happen. Drv: But, I was told I am going to be paid $932 in cash at the final drop off. (Note: two things- the price dropped and we weren't at the final drop off.) Me: Well, I am not a pimp and I don't carry around a wad of cash, so you are going to have to take a credit card. When I made the reservation, I was told this wasn't going to be a problem. Drv: I need to get paid in cash! Me: not gonna happen. Can you take a credit card? Drv: Well.....yes...but... Me: (interrupting) now that's the spirit! Meanwhile, the driver of Limo Two chimes in: Drv2: I am running over, you need to pay me extra for running over. Me: I'm confused, you guys were late and according my schedule we haven't gone over. Not to mention, your shift was over when you dropped everyone off at the hotel. Drv2: I'm on the clock until I get paid. Anywho, I finally paid these cockgoblins and we got dropped off at the Hotel. I really didn't want to rent limos for my wedding. I wanted the bridal party to travel via cabs especially since we had a complicated travel system and cabs can take much longer. However, I was concerned that I might get into a cab that was dirty and it would stain my dress. (Bloody wedding nightmares!) We hired Lasalle Limo for our July 2010 wedding through a recommendation of a friend. They were very easy to deal with and had a great rate. The driver showed up on time and didn't complain when we were running a little later than planned due to a hold up----the flower girl forgot her undergarments and we needed to find some for her at the hotel. But she's 4. ;) Our ride to the ceremony was fine and the driver pulled some fantastic moves driving us around the city for photos between the ceremony and reception. I was pretty impressed we made it to as many locations as we did and I credit him for that. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was due to a little sloppy braking that would occasionally knock one of my bridesmaids out of her sideways seat. Recently booked a 24 passenger hummer for a bachelorette party. Was quite weary of booking a limo for a large group but was pleased with the service I received. The booking process was easy and even confirmed the day before. The limo arrived promptly at 7pm and our driver, Carlos, was incredibly accommodating, driving us all over the city on our bar crawl. He had even stocked the limo with some pop and beer prior to picking us up and did not complain once despite having 20 drunk loud girls in the limo. One start removed because while gratuity was claimed to be included in the initial price, it was made quite clear by Carlos that we should provide him with an additional tip at the end of the night. The price was reasonable and they did not charge me the typical "Wedding Tax" although there were just 3 of us being transported in a town car. The driver was prompt, professional, and clean! I have used their services for birthday celebrations, nights on the town, NYE celebrations, concert events, trips to Bears games, and trips to and from the airport. Basically, anytime I do not want to deal with traffic or I simply do not want to ask someone to pick me up or take me to the airport. They have friendly telephone staff and responsible drivers. The sign said NO SMOKING there were ashes that were in the shot glasses that they never cleaned out, the garbage was full. IT SMELT SO BAD! When we asked the driver they said oh I don't know... I assure you I am not a comedian. These are the actual events I dealt with from this company. 1. I had to call 3 times for an email confirmation. Once reservation was rcvd incorrect vehicle and price, Rep told my husband one price over the phone for the inconvenience but emailed me with a higher price. We called and got the situation resolved. 2. The driver pulls up to the house unbeknownst to us because he did not knock on the door? We have limited views to the front of the house so 15 minutes later we called the company to find out what the delay was and found out the driver was just sitting outside in the car? 3. I gathered my 3 and 2 year old kids and we made our way out to the car where the driver did not open the door and was waiting for my husband to load the luggage! And Oh by the way when the driver did help he put suitcases inside of the vehicle with me and my family. I have been told by 2 separate Limo companies that this is illegal. The driver could have put the bags in the front seat 4. The vehicle had a long scratch down the driver's side and reeked of cigarettes. We had to ride from Indiana to Midway in 40* temperatures with the windows cracked so my toddlers would not have to breath in or smell like we just smoked a pack of cigarettes in 45 minutes. Options Breathe or Freeze! 5. The television did not work, there were wires hanging in the back window where the telephone for the passenger/driver should have been and refreshments that were suppose to be included were non existent ( I would not have drank anything from that car anyway!) 6. We arrive at the airport and the driver stopped the vehicle @ least 12 ft away from baggage check in and merely sat the luggage on the sidewalk. My husband and I had to maneuver with 2 toddlers, 4 suitcases, and 3 bags!! 7. This guy had the audacity to tell us the rate had increased because he had to wait outside of our house!!!!! I wish this were an untrue story. I spent months planning our first family vacation. I did not bargain shop for a limo. I saw one of LaSalle's Limos @ Swissotel Chicago and asked that particular driver for a business card. Once on vacation I had to spend 8 hours of my well planned vacation looking for arrival transportation from midway back to our house due to our return date being prom night for NW Indiana and Chicago. I am waiting on a response on how Management @ LaSalle plans on making this situation right. If this situation is not resolved within the next 2 days I will continue to post reviews of my experience and report LaSalle Limo to the BBB and Italian American chamber of Commerce and whoever else that will listen. read more

MUST READ Planned a bachlorette night and needed a limo for 3 Hours. 1) They showed up about 15-20 minutes late... 2) Didn't provide the ice and sodas we were told would come with the limo so the driver had to stop for that which wasted more time at a local Walgreens 3) On our way to our drop off location he stops off an exit 5 min before the 3 hour mark I guess I had... and says we cant take you until you pay an extra 150 plus gratuity . I had to arrange a ride for me and my friend at the last moment, and I called a couple places and this turned out to be fabulous. I started by arranging my friend to be picked up at Skokie, pick me up in the city and be driven to the Hawks game. I talked to a really nice young lady named Monica to arrange all of this. It was a little difficult, because there were times involved and some last minute changes. I was somewhat frazzled, but Monica handled it professionally. I was worried that about everything working out and getting to the game on time. Well, I was so happy that everything ran smoothly that evening. My friend was picked up at the precise, predetermined time and so was I. All my worries were gone once we were being driven to the United Center. It was stressful and frustrating, but this company managed to make everything happen. They sure made my life easier that day. I think Monica was patient and kind, and it's nice to talk with someone who wants to help you. I will definitely use this service again, because I know they're reliable. Their rates were fare, which also made me go with them. First time using a car / limo service and I think I totally lucked out. It could of turned out to be a really bad night, but thank God LaSalle Limo Service made it so much more comfortable. I recommend this place to everybody and have no problem using them again. I used their shuttle bus for my wedding a few weeks back and they were on time, the driver was professional, their staff constantly reached out to ensure my driver was in the right place. The bus was pretty old and the air conditioner could have been stronger on that hot day, but the bus was clean and the shuttle bus pricing was the most competitive I'd come across. They got us where we needed to go and dropped us back without any problems and was big enough to carry the entire bridal party from point A to B and back.
