I see this company has very high ratings on Google reviews and Yelp. That's why I booked with them for a ride to Midway. It's the first time I booked a car service without talking to a live person, but decided to pull the trigger. They send automated texts and emails, including the name and phone of your driver. I tried calling and texting them the day before just to be sure everything was set up, but they never called or texted me back. Of course, the next morning the driver is nowhere to be found, so I call him and he says "I told Grid yesterday I couldn't pick you up". I call the service and they start scrambling to figure out what went wrong. They call me frantically with some BS story that the driver went to the wrong address. The. They said they had someone on the way (20 mins away). I told them to cancel it and I just ordered an Uber, which arrived in 10 minutes so we could make our flight on time. I'm clearly in the minority here, given their ratings, but you don't get more than 1 chance to let me down for something like this. They still have not emailed or called to acknowledge cancellation of the return pickup or to apologize for totally screwing this up. All these guys seem capable of doing is sending automated emails and texts. We're never using these guys again. read more

Very good communication This was the first time we used Grid. We booked in Miami via phone/text for Chicago O'Hare pick up the next day. We got communication from the owner and the driver. Turns out our three hour flight turned into an eight and half hour flight with a diversion to Indianapolis due to weather. Really, though, they just want to make sure you have a good time. Tony gets a special mention (our drive this weekend) because he did a phenomenal job making us all feel like tailored-to special guests. Just used Grid for the first time and absolutely loved it. I made a reservation for a roundtrip to the airport from downtown. For pickup, my driver was early, very helpful with my baggage and very nice. Upon my return, I lost my phone so was worried I was not going to be able to find my driver. I emailed Grid and the team updated my reservation quickly to have the driver meet me inside. As soon as I got down to baggage claim, the driver was waiting for me to help with my luggage. I've used Grid twice now and both experiences were perfect. Eight of us rented a party van to go from the NW suburbs to the United Center for a concert. The van was comfortable, clean, and a lot of fun. Our driver could not have been nicer - she took great care of us! My wife and I then used Grid for an airport pickup and had another great experience. The driver was waiting for us as soon as we exited the airport. The car was quite luxurious and very comfortable. We booked 2 rides with this service. Our ride from the airport to our hotel went perfectly! The communication and transportation was exceptional! But our 2nd booking was a disaster. We were to be picked up at the ballpark, stop by our hotel and then taken to the airport. Our pick up was to be 4:30pm. As the weather was a bit rainy, we did call to see if the driver could come earlier. We were informed that he was on another call, but would come after. He could be there slightly before but definitely by our scheduled time. And then it went down hill from there. We received GPS notification which allowed us to see who and where our driver was. By that indicator, it showed him arriving late. I called dispatch 2 times only to be told he would definitely be there. When the time grew later for his arrival I called back, the dispatcher could no longer reach the driver and it appeared he turned his GPS and phone off. Several calls with dispatch and then a call 10minutes after the pick up time from the driver saying he was 20 minutes away, we were stranded. We took an Uber to our hotel. On the way, I called the Car Service back. I was told they would have the driver meet us now at the hotel, that they would call ahead and have our luggage pulled and ready to go and they would not charge us for the trip. I was guaranteed the driver would be there when we arrived. Not only was the driver not there, but no one called the hotel to have the luggage ready either as promised (I could have and would have done it if they had not assured me it would be taken care of). So now we are scrambling again to get an Uber big enough for the family and our luggage to get to the airport. And we are now late. After getting in our Uber, I called the car service back and told them that the driver again did not show up. The dispatch girl could have cared less. No apologies, nothing! Meanwhile, 50 minutes later I get a text notification while at the airport already that the driver had just shown up at the hotel. Never again. read more

We got the Mercedes Benz Sprinter for a prom group. They gave us a very fair quote which was much lower than any other well-rated limousine service in the area, but this did not detract from the professionalism of the service AT ALL. The luxury sprinter was clean and really professional-- good speakers and lighting. Our drivers were super kind and patient (our group can get a little stressed and hectic when going to events, etc) and were willing to help us set up the AUX, slightly modify or bring in input on the drive and location, etc. I had some last minute changes about 2 hours beforehand and they were so incredibly nice and helpful in helping implement those. Fast quotes and super quick to pick up calls, reply, notify you of the driver's position, anything. Even got us there quickly and on time during some Saturday traffic. I used Grid Transportation Service a couple years ago and had a wonderful experience. The man picked us up on time in Millennium Park area and the car was perfectly clean inside. That was a five star service for me for that event. My second experience with them (which is why I gave lower stars) is because I'm disappointed with their recent customer service to date in December of 2018. Just booked a sedan with Grid since they sent me a holiday email with a free one way ride promotion that expires on 1/1/19. I booked my driver online with the promo code and received the confirmation. An hour later someone from the company called me saying I can't use that promotion because it's only for drives to and from the airport. Unfortunately it didn't say that in their email at all and their website doesn't say you have to use this promo to and from the airport ONLY. Even though it was their mistake they still wouldn't keep my reservation. The drive was going to be literally 5 minutes (from one neighborhood to the next) and they couldn't help me out. I'm disappointed how they handled this and will not use them anymore or give out any referrals. Very rude of them to just take something away after it has been approved.
