I love this place! I love this whole chain. Definitely get the cheese honey spread with bread... it's super delicious and unique. Service is amazing. Super casual setting but if you want to make it more like a nicer dining place you could. Food are large portions so definitely enough to share. I would come back and go to other chains in a heartbeat. Oh and not to mention price is super reasonable. Ok if you haven't tried this place; do it! This location is right next to Villanova university but I think they have quite a few locations across PA. read more

Great menu, good food, pricing, and service but terrible ambiance at dinner time with very loud aweful rock music at the bar which spills over into the dining area. Difficult to hear people at the table. Few diners the night I was there and I could see why. Very offputting so wont be back for dinner. We were warned about the too loud environment beforehand but decided to check it out for ourselves. Weird choice to favor a bar scene over diners on management's part. Will only do takeout and lunch in the future. As for the food, we liked the burrata board. Lots of burrata but the prosciutto quality could be a bit better. The LaScala fries with cheese and crab was delicious. The gnocchi were light and delicious, and crab and angel hair was good. The pizza and veal picatta were decent. They were out of cabernet which was odd so I got the Super Tuscan which is always good. read more

Large Italian restaurant in Villanova with generous portion sizes and your standard selection of pastas, pizzas, and meat / fish entrees. Came here for dinner with a large group (~30-40) and sat inside. Good to know they have spaces for larger groups. Atmosphere: Personally found the space to be a bit loud, but I was a part of a larger group and we were seated indoors closer to other tables. Servers were very friendly and responsive throughout. Food: Ordered the fig and prosciutto pizza, and they allowed me to substitute the gorgonzola with goat cheese, which I appreciated! Personally have had better fig pizzas (this one had too much cheese, and not enough prosciutto), but the portion size was large. The tiramisu was your standard tiramisu, though quite large and doused with chocolate syrup on the plate. Overall: 4/5 - thought the food was generally above average and had great portion sizes! Just didn't "wow" me in any way - still, was a solid option for Italian food in the area. read more

We came for lunch on a Saturday after a tour at Villanova. Good pizza, yummy paninis, good fries. Getting our food was a SLOW process, but everything was very good. Our dining experience was more than a month ago and it still rankles. The restaurant is filled with big screens; they're inescapable. A Cindy Crawford informercial played the entire time we were there, between 45 minutes and an hour...although it seems interminable. Food was fantastic. Server worked hard and did a fine job with a party of 7. Issue came at the very beginning. The hostess was on the phone for well over 5 minutes and wouldn't even make eye contact with us or acknowledge us. She could have put the call on hold or at least greet us. When she hung up she came off as if we interrupted her. We didn't we stood patiently. Once we were finished eating we all ordered desserts. After waiting several minutes we were told the kitchen closed at 9p and the desserts will not be served. Its was 905p at this point. That was 7 desserts off the bill. The kitchen closing and how it was handled was poor. The server was very apologetic but a manager should have addressed the issue. Overall experience was disappointing due to these issues unfortunately since the apps and entrees were good. read more

Best pizza that I got in Phili so far. It is not the traditional pizza, super thin and some different sauces.

Sadly this location is as bad at the one in Center City. The food is so basic and nowhere close to authentic or fresh Italian food. My mom ordered a pasta dish that was so bland we had to throw it out after 2 bites (pasta and peas). I ordered a salad with tuna and the server could not tell me what kind of tuna was served on the salad (luckily it was Ahi!) but I was astounded that she did not offer to find out. The salad was mostly cheese with the tiniest bit of arugula (very odd as it should be the opposite). The dressing made me sick almost instantly. The pizza was gross and we didn't even save half as leftovers. This was an all around bad experience and I hope I save you from having the same experience I did. read more

First time here for lunch and was very impressed with the all white - open floor design and relaxing vibe when you walk in the door. Tall ceiling, brick oven pizza making station and large bar. Our waiter greeted us right away and welcomed us. Started out with mussels in gravy. Gravy was fabulous, I mussels cooked just right. Next time I'd probably try another appetizer that was more exciting. But it was good. So many choices to eat as my main entree , being lunch I opted something lighter so I went with the basic magherita pizza for my entree . Sauce and cheese was good- fresh basil - bit disappointed with the crust as it pretty flat ( see the other pictures on Yelp)- expected it to be more airy - was very bread like but tasty. My friend ordered the meat ball pasta with ricotta and he said the ricotta was out of this world and the meatballs were tender and delicious My other companion ordered the prosciutto mozzarella panini and was enormous and fresh cut fries . I took a bite and the fresh bread , high quality prosciutto and fresh mozzarella and arugula was delicious. Will def be back to try the signature entrees and apps customers have raved about. 4 stars as I think pizza could be more crusty but it could be the style they make. Great service, fresh ingredients. Placed our order through Grubhub at 6 pm on a Friday for 1 pasta dish and 1 pizza. Estimated 45-50 min wait time. After 45 mins, got a notice that they accidentally gave our order to someone else. Mistakes happen. But it took another 50 minutes for them to remake and deliver our order. Disappointing that we didn't get our order prioritized (shouldn't take 50 mins to make 1 pizza and 1 pasta dish and deliver it 7 minutes away). When I called to ask about the long wait and check on my order (1.5 hours after I placed my order), I was told they only had 2 hostesses instead of 3 working that night. While it did sound busy in the restaurant, it shouldn't take 3 hostesses to ensure the right orders are picked up, nor do hostesses make the actual food or prioritize the orders. When then food did arrive, the pizza was cold and lacking in flavor. The pasta was warm but also lacking in overall flavor. Order local (Bar Sera, Bar Luca, Pepperoncini's in Conshy or Pietro's in Radnor) for better service and quality. Management needs to step up the game if they want their chain to compete with other options in the area with food that is as good or better and with better service. This could be the outlier but we won't be ordering again. read more

My sister and I had last minute plans to go to dinner on Valentine's Day so I browsed for a few restaurants and we decided on this one. I have no complaints, the service was prompt and the food was delicious. We did have reservations so I don't know how quick they are for walk-ins. Let's get to the good part--the food! My sister and I shared an appetizer of calamari which is our go to at most restaurants, but this calamari was amazing would definitely recommend. It had a lot of flavor without being overwhelming. I had 2 glasses of the gambino Prosecco and it was great to go along with the veal parmigiana. The veal parmigiana was decent. My sister had the chicken Marsala and she ate most of it which is an indication that she enjoyed it. She also had the lemon cocktail(I can't remember the name) and she enjoyed it as well. It was nice to be able to park close to the restaurant as opposed to the city where you would have to park far or pay for valet. Overall nice atmosphere and great servers, I'd come back. read more

I went here for dinner for the first time since LaScala's opened. The way the redid the interior of the place is fantastic and the restaurant looks very classy. Our server was nice and gave good recommendations. She also was attentive to dietary restrictions and made good suggestions surrounding them. Everyone in my group enjoyed their meal. First, from the moment we walked into the restaurant the hostesses were very welcoming! Our waiter & other staff were excellent. We especially appreciated the waiter acknowledging there's a fee added to our bill if we don't pay in cash. We've been to other local restaurants that have added that to our bill, even though we paid cash! Always pay attention to your bill. They'll remove the charge, but if you don't ask they'll sometimes leave it on!!! We ordered a cheese board, that was delicious. We really enjoyed it with our cocktails. Next came our entrees, which were simply awful. We were surprised & incredibly disappointed in our meals. My husband had a pasta meal with chicken & seafood. The chicken was so dried it got caught in his throat with his first bite! He needed to excuse himself & go to the restroom to literally cough it up. I ordered the cranberry & feta salad with salmon. The salad itself was fine, but the salmon was dried out. Not sure if it was just overcooked like my husband's chicken, or if it sat under a heating lamp way too long. We couldn't even eat the meals. The restaurant was busy, but even with that we did appreciate the great service from the wait staff. Sadly, we both decided we won't be heading back here again. The meal was over a $100 and it was an overall disappointment. Fortunately there are plenty of other restaurants in the area with meals that never disappoint. read more

Nice Italian food here. The place gets quite busy so a reservation is needed. All dishes that were ordered were delicious and large portions. The food is brought out as it's done in an "open kitchen" style. The wait staff was friendly and fast. My only gripe was that the Brussels sprouts have meat in them which we didn't realize at first so we had to literally spit food out of our mouths after the first bite because we are vegetarian. But the thing that annoyed me to no end is that they charge a 2.9% fee if you use a credit card (which they did not tell us when we booked the reservation). The food isn't cheap, so I'm not sure why they charge a surcharge when lower cost options (think fast food) don't. That being said, LaScala's Fire, taking the spot where Main & Vine left off, is looking very promising for my future Main Line hangouts. I met a very attractive, hot blonde friend for happy hour last week. The beautiful bar and excellent service attached was the perfect place to do so. The atmosphere was similar to M&V, however I think the bar food was better. Half price apps on the happy hour menu, yummmm...loved the garlic white pizza and the fire wings, they were both a solid 4-star. 85% of our tab was on martinis, beer and wine, and only a mere 15% on food. There were happy hour cocktails, beers and wines available but we skipped over them for better selection. A very good start to returning to normalcy. read more

The food is very good, maybe a little heavy handed on the sauces, but done nicely. The prices are fair, especially the happy hour menu. Service is fast and attentive. The problem that we haven't run into at any LaScala restaurant until now, was flies. Little tiny gnat like flies. They were on the wall and around the food. Very mediocre. I had the sweet and hot wings and they were borderline flavorless, they had the mildest flavor I've experienced in a while. Chicken quality was fine. I also ordered the MEDITERRANEAN salad which had shrimp, calamari, and crab meat. Again, the ingredients were fine, but it lacked flavor. Maybe if they charr grilled the calamari and shrimp and added some/ any seasonings it would be worth it. I probably won't come back unless it's to try a pizza from the city location since I've heard great things about that location. If you are in the Wayne/ Villanova area save your tastebuds and just go to Anthony's or Teresa's for high quality ingredients and expansive flavors. Other people in my party had the pasta with beans 7/10 and the lasagna 5/10 which was pretty salty.
