    Manhattan clam chowder
    Bill B.

BYOB Good service The salads are very nice The soup was very good. It was different as it wasn't like a traditional manhattan clam chowder. It was thicker like a bisque didn't really have much potato or veggies and was a little bit sweet. It did have more clams than I have ever seen in any other soup. The risotto was good as usual from other locations in this restaurant group. Lastly was the truffle seafood stuffed pasta special. It was a cheese and truffle stuffed pasta pillow. In a pink cream sauce. With lobster and scallops. It was good. I think by the end of the meal the truffle was a little too rich. The sauce and the seafood were very good and everything paired very nice The dessert was only ok The lemon cello flight was pretty basic The chocolate cake was dry and covered with a heavy layer of frosting. Go for the food skip the desert

Highly recommend if you're looking for incredible authentic Italian food!! I love that it's BYOB and how accommodating they are with whatever you bring. My friend lived in Italy for a few years and said this is one of the most authentic places she's found in the area. The fresh bread is great but the olive oil to go with it was amazing. It was dark green and one of the best olive oils I've ever had. This was the best gnocchi I've ever had. I'm usually hesitant to order gnocchi because they tend to be little balls of hard dough. These gnocchi were the exact opposite. They were fluffy and melt in your mouth. The cream sauce was delicious without being too rich. The Caesar salad was good but had a bit of a smoky flavor to it. The artichoke appetizer was good but we had it without the prosciutto for the vegetarian at the table. The sauce was creamy but a little bitter and the balsamic didn't cut it enough. The artichoke has a good charred flavor. It was good but I'm sure it would be even better with the prosciutto. Wasn't a fan of the chocolate caramel cake. It was a bit powdery and chalky. Only downsides of the place- it's al a cart so no sides come with the entree and you need to order all at once; not course by course orders

I remember when Otto by Polpo opened a few years ago and wanting to find a time to go. After hearing good things about this place from friends, I decided to go with some for Thanksgiving dinner. Upon coming in, they seated us in the corner of the restaurant, despite there being plenty of open seats. The hostess accommodated our move, but I thought it was odd that they would try to sit us there in the first place. For my appetizer, I ordered the Gamberi, which is grilled shrimp, and for my appetizer, I went with the Thanksgiving special turkey. I would say they both pretty average, at best. There were only four medium-sized pieces of shrimp and they were fine flavor wise, but I thought there could have been more pieces of shrimp for a $16 appetizer. I was pretty disappointed in the Thanksgiving dinner special for my entree, which just was just not much of a Thanksgiving turkey meal. The turkey was not sliced pieces, but rather dark meat served on a bone. More like the turkey thighs you would get at DisneyWorld and not Thanksgiving. I did not like the sides very much. The mashed potatoes were fine, but the only side offered was broccoli rob, which is not really a Thanksgiving food. They should have offerings of stuffing, cranberry sauce or green beans. I called when making this reservation and they said they would have a Thanksgiving menu and options, but they were very limited. They should have been more specific on the phone. I spoke to another person in my group, who had the octopus and salmon. They said the octopus was quite underwhelming, especially for a place that specializes in that, and while the salmon was hot, the capers made it salty. For dessert, I was disappointed they did not have any Thanksgiving options such as pumpkin pie. Why say you have Thanksgiving options, if you won't even have pumpkin pie? I had the chocolate cake for dessert, which was too small and tasted like the type of cake you'd get at a supermarket. Altogether, this restaurant is overpriced and the food is nothing spectacular. I doubt that I will be back.

Fantastic food! We got the frito misto and seafood linguine. Wait staff was slow and there was a large gap between seating and ordering. Loved BYOB. Ambience is a little miss, could have been designed better inside.

I have been to all of their restaurants down at the Jersey shore, but this was a first time at Otto in Bryn Mawr. It was an amazing meal! We had the pleasure of sitting on the side enclosed patio which was a nice little addition to the restaurant. We were told when the weather gets nice, the windows and ceiling retract, giving the guests a nice fresh air atmosphere. Right off the septa train tracks, so very easy for my family to hop on in malvern for a quick ride right to the front door of the restaurant! I always enjoy a BYOB. I get to bring my own wine and not have to worry about racking up a big bill because I want to indulge on a Saturday evening! We started off sharing the bacon wrapped artichoke as well as the Brussels sprouts. They were packed with flavor and the perfect starter before our entrees. Our table ordered the Veal Picatta, chicken Milanese, chicken Marsala, and the xxx. I had the pleasure of tasting all of the dishes and they were all magnificent. Each dish had its own delicious sauce that complimented the perfectly cooked meat/chicken. Packed with flavor and savory to the very last bite. The service was amazing, the atmosphere was great. Can't wait to come back soon (especially when it's warm and we can enjoy the outdoor seating!).

    Metal in food

We order from Otto almost once a week. Tonight our appetizer had a metal staple in it, which my husband only noticed once he had bitten into it. I called the restaurant and let them know the situation. The man who answered the phone seemed irritated that I was calling to inform them. He proceeded to give me attitude and tell me this happens sometimes (really? Is this acceptable?) but that he would refund me for the appetizer. I suggested he comp the meal given the situation to which he quickly replied that wasn't an option. Candidly I wasn't calling for a refund - as I could have gotten this through the app. I assumed the restaurant would want to know what happened and try and circumvent it from happening to anyone else. Such a disappointment from an establishment we enjoyed supporting. Unfortunately we won't be back.

Located in Bryn Mawr on Conestoga Rd, there is a private lot and street parking available. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. We were greeted by a friendly server before we even stepped inside. The host station is right inside and we were welcomed warmly once again. They offered us our choice of inside/outside seating. Being our first time there we wanted to see the interior. I mentioned this and they gave us a great table upstairs overlooking the restaurant. The store is decorated with a lot of Italian transportation...small cars and Vespas. I loved the high ceilings, and the upper level seating. They also have a huge TV on the wall, and decorated for the 2026 World Cup, despite Italy not qualifying! Our server, Alex, was very personable despite being busy with a large bday gathering and several other tables. He made us feel welcome as he went over the specials and took our orders. I got the chicken Parmesan which is my goto litmus test, while my date got the beet salad with grilled chicken. The food arrived promptly and looked and tasted delicious. My chicken parm was yummy, crispy chicken with melted cheese over delicious spaghetti! The beet salad was also well received. We saw several tables getting some delicious bread and asked for a basket. I thought it may be complimentary however it was 8$ a basket. They make it in house and drizzle it with olive oil. Served with some fresh rosemary and soft butter, it was delicious and well worth the price, just don't fill up on it! We were pressed for time so turned down their house made gelato, however we passed the gelato station on the way out and regretted this decision, it looked amazing! I mentioned to Alex that my entree was delicious but what set the restaurant apart was the service and atmosphere. It was warm, welcoming, and friendly. Some Italian places can be a bit on the cool/formal side so this was a nice change. Stop in and check it out, save some room for that bread and the gelato!

My parents come here periodically, and I'd been trying to join them on one of my visits back home,…read morebut on a couple occasions we couldn't get reservations, and then the third time, we got one but it turned out they were going to be closed that week for a post New Year's vacation. Fast forward to this latest visit home. I finally secured a reservation...but then late yesterday afternoon my mom's knee started acting up to the point where she could barely stand on it. Fortunately, ice, Advil and rest overnight--and my mom really, really wanting to come here--kept us on track, and tonight I finally made it. It's a cozy spot, and I can see it making an excellent date night, especially since the BYOB setup allows you to bring the wine of your choice (and save some $$). We were seated promptly--this Sunday was relatively mellow--and the servers were super accommodating about removing a chair so that my mom's walker could occupy the unused space on our four-top. The menu is what I call right-sized. It may seem smallish, but there is a strategic assortment of salads and apps, pastas and mains (and, of course, desserts) that is sure to accommodate everyone. Dean, the young man who would go on to do an outstanding job taking care of us for the night (with the other two servers chipping in seamlessly as needed), went through the specials. My mom was particularly intrigued by a squid-ink fettucine with lobster and shrimp (and cherry tomatoes) in a saffron cream sauce. Could we split it as an app, we asked? Would it be too much food? On Dean's advice, we went ahead, while my dad got the mussels. All three of us ordered the pork chop, which my parents have been raving about for a couple years now. How could I not try it? Ordering finished, bread and olive oil (with a bit of balsamic) arrived at the table. Knowing I had a pasta coming and that the pork chop was a good-sized portion, I didn't want to overdo it, which I think was ultimately a good choice. The bread took the edge off, and then the pasta arrived. It was just the right amount for two people to share as an app, and we both enjoyed it, while my dad loved his mussels (and then dunked lots of his bread in it). Then came the main event. The pork chop lived up to (and frankly, exceeded) the hype. It was tender and perfectly cooked and oh-so-flavorful. Definitely one of the best I've ever eaten, and this isn't my first pork-chop rodeo. It was accompanied by asparagus and yummy baby Yukon Gold potatoes; I left a view of the latter, not because they weren't yummy but rather because the pork chop was huge and I was not skipping dessert. For dessert, I went with the house-made cannoli, which was a lovely, sweet (but not oversweet) ending to an excellent meal. I'd be happy to come back to Burrata anytime.

We were amazed at how good our food was and why we hadn't dine here before. We split a mixed greens salad which was also delicious with apples. Topped it off with Strawberry Gelato and Limoncello cake. We had a great date night and can't wait to go back. Very reasonably priced and also a BYOB. So grab your friends or family, some adult beverages and have a wonderful dining experience. Burrata we will be back and sooner then later.

Service: each person with whom we interacted (hosts, manager, food runners and especially our server...she was fantastic). Food: For the table, we got Calamari: very light and crispy, but the meat was nice and tender Pepperoni and soppressata pizza: excellent, with an amazing sauce, sausage and crispy outside tender inside crust. Dinner: The kids both got the Rigatoni Vodka. This is what I had the first time we visited. It was just as delicious. Packed with flavor and the sausage was perfect. Tender, and just a touch of heat. My wife got the Gemelli. A pistachio pesto - this was probably the best pesto I've ever tasted. Creamy, fill of flavor and a touch of acid that brightened it up nicely. Incredible. I got the Bucatini Amatriciana. Pomodoro sauce with guanciale. Blew me away. The pomodoro was unbelievably well balanced. Exact amount of sweetness, slightly acidic and the guanciale brought the salty note, in the form of crispy crunchy bacon flavor, but surprisingly tender. Blown away. We had to try dessert. Tiramisu: it was as good as expected. Very well made Vanilla Panna Cotta: this was exceptional (like pretty much the rest of the meal) delicate and creamy, and a huckleberry compote (?) that was insanely good. A touch of salt was in there to make it positively sing. I could not more highly recommend giving this place a try. Absolutely the whole package. Loved it and will be back!

Telling me there was a table, then taking it back and saying there were no tables for the night, then saying nevermind and making me a reservation for two (which I would have done if not discouraged by the website) for half an hour later. At this point I already had a very bad taste in my mouth from the level of chaos. I waited outside for my table. When I got to my table I will say my server was very nice until a strange comment came up at dessert. Once I ordered my dessert, he left and came back with two spoons, saying "I brought two spoons for us." It almost seemed implied he'd join me. I dine a lot alone, voluntarily. Most of the time it's after work and I really don't want, let alone need, company. His comment gave me anxiety as I wondered how I would politely tell this man I wanted to dine alone. When he brought the dessert he did not join me but made sure to say "I'll be back for a few bites." Maybe it was a joke but to me it was very odd and made me pretty uncomfortable. I gave three stars just for the Cacio e Pepe. It was very good. I did (without giving tmi) have a very sick stomach after the meal and the morning after so I wouldn't return just incase that was the cause. Like a said... a weird experience.

I thought it was very average; likely a one-shot deal for us. BUT, the restaurant appears to be popular, so you may think it's great." I hate assessing Core de Roma as less than wonderful. The owner is so gracious and wants everyone to be happy. But the reality is, with so many Italian restaurants in and around Philadelphia, you've got to be on top of your game. They start you off with warm Italian bread and a plate of tasty cannelloni beans in olive oil. We ordered calamari as an appetizer, described as being served on a "bed of greens." Had we known the "bed" was two meager leaves of lettuce, we would have ordered a salad as well. The calamari should be crisper and include tentacles in addition to rings. My husband's chicken Francese was pretty much indistinguishable from my saltimbocca. I like when the breasts are pounded thin, but these were sliced overly thin, and the portion, somewhat skimpy. One piece of T's was lemony, the other not. I did taste sage on my saltimbocca, but had I not known that the chicken was topped with prosciutto, I wouldn't have guessed it was there. I read that some restaurants don't serve angel hair pasta because it's easy to over-cook. You guessed it. Boiled to the point of being almost mushy, with sauce that literally had no taste. When we split a small piece of limoncello cake, T said "this is the most flavorful thing we've eaten." And sadly, I agreed. The restaurant is BYOB with a reasonable $5 corkage fee. The staff is young and efficient. There's a parking lot down the hill in the back. Ambience is okay -- despite some other Yelpers' complaints. The only thing needing improvement: the food.
