I came in here with my mother and sister. My mother got Dysport and restylane injections in her forehead, I did Dysport for my crows feet and upper lip, and my sister did Restylane for her lips. Juliana was our injectionist and she was absolutely lovely! This was my first time getting injections while mom and sister are veterans. She made it so comfortable and made us all feel so pampered. She's extremely bright and answered all of my (tons of) questions and is so confident. I would recommend her and this establishment to anybody read more

The receptionist had her daughter at the front desk. I wouldn't have minded that so much if she had been attentive. She was more concerned with her daughters homework than checking me in. There was a wet spot on the bed when I went into the procedure room. The laser service was ok, I've had much better. The nurse was pretty casual and not very professional. Last but not least my skin was burned from the laser. If you do come to this spot make sure to double check and ask about the strength of the laser. They can turn it down a notch if it feels too hot. I had a burn mark for a couple weeks after. read more

I don't get to go that often. When I do Its always a pleasant experience. From the time I schedule the appointment to when I walk out the door Everyone is friendly, and non judgmental. I am a germaphobe and the spa is always clean and sanitary. They are up on all there skills and have the latest machines and gadgets. I have been going to Laser Hair and Skin Solutions for 15 years. Every time I leave I feel so Hot and Sexy. Karen will go beyond her call of duty to make sure everything is perfect. I highly recommend Laser Hair and Skin Solutions for all your skin care needs. I've been going to Karen and Dr. Kojian for YEARS. They have always been super professional and provided me with excellent hair removal and Botox service. I love the relaxing atmosphere of the clinic and understand that if sometimes I have a small wait in the waiting room it is worth it for the quality they provide. If you are expecting to drop by and get rushed in and out, that's not how this place works. I went to Karen about 10 years ago for laser hair removal, and she was wonderful and I loved the business and my results. I booked again and spend $4000.00 on 10 treatments, and all the hair grew back, and Karen was continually unavailable and scattered. I often had to wait 30 mins, one time 45 mins after my appointment time to get the procedure, and I could hear Karen chatting away on the phone. Sometimes they would overcharge me on the procedure, even though the price was written down on my file, and I had to argue to get them to keep to the price. One time I came for a session and Karen missed 50% off the area, and I had to come in 3 times and have 3 conversations to get any kind of accountability. Now, I am the fool for sticking around. But it was the experience 10 years ago that kept me thinking, could it really be this bad??? And the answer is yes, it is terrible and I wish Karen retired about 2 months before I came back, so I could remember this as a good place to go. Karen is absolutely amazing! I've been coming here since 2012 and originally was just getting Botox, then moved to getting Botox and fillers recently. I'm now considering getting laser hair removal from them. I paid thousands of dollars for laser hair removal at Monterey Bay Laser Aesthetics and got COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF. The staff was friendly, but Dr. Smalls was like a car salesman pushing me to buy more and more. After the thousands I spent on laser hair removal for my legs below the knees, and my Brazilian area, I now still need to have Brazilian waxes and shave my legs. Granted, my leg hair is finer and patchier now than it was before, but the laser hair removal on my Brazilian area was a complete waste of time and money. I plan on scheduling an appointment at Laser Hair and Skin Solutions for another round of laser hair removal, and will continue to support this business!! By the way, Karen is an absolute genius and I have never had a bad experience there. I ALWAYS have excellent results, and now hope to write another review after I have the laser hair removal done by them :) read more

Went here after my friend had recommended Karen (and I was becoming dis-enchanted with Monterey Bay Laser). I scheduled an appointment to have my chin and sideburns done. When I got there I was told I would need to use numbing cream so they slathered it on and sat me in the front for a little bit. She then took me into the room and proceeded to run the machine over my skin. Its a different machine (cant remember what its called) and much faster then the one MBL uses and I was pleased it worked so quickly. She also does little "extra" areas like cheeks, etc and does not charge additional. I left a satisfied customer UNTIL the next day when I noticed small burn marks all over the left side of my face. It looked exactly like little chicken feet. I called Karen very upset and was told it would fade. 2 days later It still had not faded so I went into the office to have them look at it. They were shocked at the shape of the burns and thought maybe a piece of hair got stuck in the machine causing it to burn on top of my skin every time they zapped me. My first thought was "if your a professional shouldn't you have periodically checked the machine to make sure that doesn't happen!". She gave me some very strong hydroquinine lotions to fade the marks but it was stronger than prescription strength and there was no way I was putting that on my face. She said she would give me a free underarm session for the trouble but there's no way I will ever let her touch my skin again. read more

If you're new to laser, book your appt with Karen! She is amazing and left my skin looking amazing after a couple hours. She did everything exactly how I wanted so now all my appts are with her. It was a fast and easy and she knows what she's doing so you feel more comfortable. My first time I didn't know what to expect, so I booked it with Juliana whom irritated my skin super bad, she did jobs on me that I didn't wanna get done, took her time but still messed up, and it was a lot more painful. This is my favorite place for filler and Botox. It seems to last twice as long as other places I've been and the owner Karen is smart , funny and nice. She's saved my lips ! Being 60 they look smoother but natural ,better than when I was 40 I think. And she took away my nose bridge wrinkle. I had a wonderful experience at Laser hair I had my legs and bikini laser and it was fast and the results were amazing the thought of never having to shave is again is a dream come true! I have been seeing Karen for laser hair removal for about 2 years now and let me tell you, it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. My Mom has been going to her for years and recommender her. The office is clean and professional, the front desk staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. I now live in Santa Barbara and I have been to 2 different facilities down here but nothing compares so I wait for my visits home and they are always able to squeeze me in for an appointment. I have had treatments done on my armpits, face, bikini and even a full brazilian treatment. Yes, laser hair removal can be pricy but Karen is extremely fair and will usually offer package deals if you are doing more than one area. And yes, it can be painful but since they got the new laser its much less painful. She is very personable and the sessions go by fast since we usually spend the time catching up. What's up with that ? " Karen's Magic Machine " Karen has a brand new, state of the art Laser Hair Removal Machine. The results are amazing. It has an Alexandrite Laser (yes, I asked her what the laser was) and emits a small cryogen blast with each laser pulse that makes the treatment virtually painless. She programs the machine with your skin type, hair color, etc. and gets a personalized laser power setting, just for you. Karen provides personalized care and goes the extra mile for you. I'm treating a new area now and after the first treatment, the results were incredible. A second treatment has virtually eliminated hair from the area. I'm thinking a little time for regrow of those pesky hidden follicles and one more treatment will do the trick. Great results. Awesome results. I've gone to San Jose in the past and treatments were painful, expensive and frequently unsuccessful with impersonal technicians. Don't go over the hill, go to see Karen instead !!! In case you are wondering, I am a light skinned person 'blessed' with a family hirsute gene that terrorizes about 50% of the female family tree. I showed up at my scheduled time for a consultation and waited 25 minutes to be seen. The reason i even made the appt was to research my options for dealing with sun damage. I was seen for less than 5 minutes when the nurse was pulled away (for another twenty minutes). Then she pops her head in and says, "shall we set you up for some Botox? I'll send my assistant in. I have to go see my other patient now". I wasn't even interested in Botox. I was so disappointed. What a waste of a precious hour of my life. read more

I love Karen, I have very sensitive skin and spend so much $$ on special razors and special creams to help razor burns, in grown hairs from waxing and even facial stains from bad waxing. She's always been fair with cost and personable. I have referred so many people to her and everyone has been happy with their results. We use to do electrolysis (which is much more painful, WAY longer and slightly more expensive) just to be in a safe place. Finally we were told about the Laser process and suggested to go to the one in Aptos by a local nurse. We called and immediately felt welcome and safe, the honest and professional receptionist informed me they couldn't price anything over the phone but would love to have us in for a free consultation. They had appointments open all that week. Within 10 minutes of being there we were convinced this was the best way to go, not only was the price VERY reasonable, but the time it takes to see progress sounded amazing. Then when we come to the 1st appointment It only took 10 minutes, it was super cool to watch and within an hour the skin's slight redness had gone away. I highly suggest looking into this particular business if you're curious, their knowledgeable staff always returns any messages or questions within 24 hours and seem happy to do such.
