First they have representatives that will not only quote your move but also check in and stay as your point of contact throughout the entire process. My rep was excellent in following up and responding to all of my questions and requests. He went out of his way to make my requested dates and times work, and that in itself already makes the costs come close to being worth it. But the movers themselves make it a no-brainer. They were courteous, polite, and professional. They also took a lot of time and care into helping prepare my items to go into storage and take the trip across a couple states. I thought I did well packing but they really improved on my work, rearranging and wrapping items that seemed loose or wobbly. I felt everything was super safe and taken care of when they were done. Good people throughout the company and good practices made my move super easy and convenient and the personal interactions make it completely worth the cost. My parents lived on the 3rd floor of our family building and held years worth of items including a book and album collection as well as some antique furniture items. I worked with the sales team all the way up until the day of the move and made adjustments based on time and necessity. The move time was pushed back several times, which I remained flexible on. The driver (Mike) called me to let me know they were running late, I said no problem. I could tell in that conversation, (Mike) did not sound pleasant at all. When Mike and Alex arrived, it was confirmed, he was not interested in the job at all. The other mover (Alex) was friendlier. I began to show them the items that needed to be packed and I showed them around the property. Mike said we had more than what was listed on the quote. I advised the quote had be revised several times and we decided to not take some of the larger pieces. There was (1) item located on the first floor (that I sent pictures of) and some items in the basement. After showing both movers what needed to be done, I asked if they would rather park their truck in the alley. They agreed and said they would pull around back. THEY NEVER CAME BACK!!! I called Mike several times and did not get an answer...then the calls went to voicemail. I then attempted to call my sales person Matthew and realized the phone number listed does not allow you to enter an extension number. I then tried the representative who called me to confirm the move. I had to leave VM with both and wait for a call back. They were very surprised and apologetic but could not tell me why the drivers left with no notice. I was eventually told they could not "Accommodate" our needs! I completely understand how overwhelming that task may have appeared to someone walking into a large apartment, that wasn't the most organized or tidy, but isn't that what that $4,000+ quote was paying for. What if we had to be out of the property within days? To leave the job and make me wait for 30 minutes in the alley is completely unprofessional. Moving in general is extremely stressful, now imagine being a couple of senior citizens, one of which is a disable veteran battling cancer and being told their movers left without notice!

It was minus 11 degrees outside and snowing, and the driver was there on time as promised... Impressive. Overall, this was an very smooth and painless transaction. Eagle Storage emailed me a quote right away after I described what I needed; no phone call required. I arranged a pick-up the week after and the person showed up on time in a big truck, took my boxes and off they went to the storage. I didn't have to do anything. All of this was priced very reasonably considering this was for storage AND transportation AND labor. No hidden fees or anything. Ten days later I decided to contact them to make the move. I told them all I had was the verbal quote and never received the email from Jeff. They said Jeff was the only one who could confirm the quote. That took several more days. When Jeff called he quoted a price about 1/3 of the original verbal price and I knew he had the wrong customer. He was certain he remembered but then later admitted that he had apparently lost the notes on my job. They asked to come out again to review it. A couple days later they sent another estimator, but from another company working on their behalf. That quote was over double the quote that Jeff gave me. (This estimator walked in with no mask on and attempted to shake me hand - COVID Time). On top of this, they only occasionally answer their phone during their published business hours. Maybe they would have done an okay job with the move, but they are very unprofessional, disorganized, and unresponsive. I asked for a call from the owner, but it's been days with no call. They apparently don't care . No problem, there are others in the area and I would recommend going elsewhere if you value your time.

I scheduled a small studio move that should have taken two hours, which is their minimum. The day before my move, Jae sent a text and email alerting me that my move had been rescheduled. There was no call or conversation asking if this change was okay. This should have been the first red flag. The movers arrived on time and I initially thought this was a good sign because of the whole rescheduling situation they were trying to pull. I quickly realized they showed up completely unprepared. They did not bring any of the materials I paid extra for or the moving materials Borz included at no extra cost. They were not upfront about this and only admitted it after I confronted them. Because of this, packing was delayed and took much longer than necessary. After packing, my new apartment was less than ten minutes away and literally impossible to get lost. You drive out of my building and go straight down the same street. Despite this, the movers took an hour to arrive. I have photo proof that Mark sent me showing he was parked at an address that was not the designated location for over 30 minutes, which was clearly a stalling tactic. Despite having clear instructions from my building, the driver chose not to follow them and wasted another 30 minutes circling the building. He eventually parked and told me he had been to this address before. If that were true, there is no explanation for why it took an hour to travel a five-minute distance. From about 1:50pm to 2:45, Borz wasted an hour on travel time alone, adding an unnecessary hour to my move. Once unloading was nearly finished, they paused to discuss payment before completing the job. I had to repeatedly ask Mark to bring in my mattress. How are you calling operations when the job isn't finished? This felt like another attempt to stall and push the time more, especially after already running up the clock unnecessarily. Jae later tried to frame my paying a lower amount than the estimate as a big "discount" and implied I should be grateful. Not charging me for materials that were never provided is not a discount. I should have actually received a discount for the movers arriving unprepared with the expected materials and for taking an hour to drive between two locations that does not even take an hour to walk between. The issues here was the lack of honesty, poor communication, and disorganization that caused the move to take much longer than it should have. When I asked to speak with a manager, Jae refused and hung up on me but not before arguing with me about my experience that she was not present for. Overall, this company shows a lack of accountability and professionalism. I will not be using Borz again and would not recommend them to anyone even if they were they only moving company on earth.

LDM is not an all inclusive moving company. They are a company that unabashedly lies about being…read moresuch, and offering services that they could offer if they were such, because they know that's the product you want to buy. Making the sale is more important than having the thing to sell. I was taken in by it, paid a rate there is no way I would have otherwise paid, to companies I would never have knowingly dealt with, thinking I was buying peace of mind, and ended up wrecking my peace of mind during the move, as well as a few rather liked possessions. If you think you've finally found a lower risk moving company, you haven't. Maybe at least try to go with a more up front and honest one. On communication: My move sales person was actually fairly available, and quick to update my inventory sheet. But his odd hours and indeterminate accent bring into question how in house even he was, which I likely would have taken as a stronger warning sign without a variety of moving stressors on my back. However, I bought into his assurance "We don't use any brokers or third-party providers. Everything is owned and done by our company" to believe him when he said he could mark specific items as to be treated with special care by the movers. This meant I did not provide as adequate protection for some items as I would have had I known it was a flat out lie and that line of communication did not exist. He also kept not giving me a straight answer on how crating of some of my items would be performed, in retrospect being a question dodge, with me not finally being given a straight response from *another* move coordinator that crating would happen *after* my things were vanned to another facility, not in any way on the spot, or prepared for pre-pickup, again barring me an opportunity I might have otherwise used to further protect my belongings. I am now corresponding in relation to settlement on the service I received and damage to my items which has also not been blocked, but at current time is not resolved. On the move: Actually performed by (see proof picture): LDI Moving Inc Trico Long Distance Transportation My move window wasn't given a full confirmation until two days prior, which again kept raising my anxiety and really brought into question how a company that did everything in house couldn't confirm I was on the docket, and what exactly had I paid for. On the day of, my movers show up with matching t-shirts that do NOT say LDM, confirming that I have indeed been scammed into the sale, but still hoping things work out because my schedule is absolutely locked in at that point. I have purchased, not exactly cheap, full service pack as well since I have been told I cannot insure my items for full value unless I did so. And it also admittedly takes some stress off me before hand thinking my things will be professionally packed as well as save me the time of doing so. The crew that does the packing is not professional. I will become an unstable wreck through the next week as I first wait to take stock of the damage on arrival, then come to terms with it afterwards. When packing they throw things in boxes, often one on top of the other, without rhyme or reason, and often without any added protection. They're annoyed, and in one case straight up laugh at me, when I try to interject to protect my things. I have to try to communicate via signaling since most of the crew does not speak English. At one point I catch one of them getting a box down the stairs by somersaulting it. 'This side up's are ignored (which can't be the result of a language barrier) and several more boxes will show signs of flipping during the move later. They seem to have very little care for appropriate stacking of box weights. Due to what I witness I have to throw out all but the most basic of my prepaid 'unpacking' service on the other side since I know I need to unpack things myself for probably much needed proof for insurance claims. On the note of insurance, my bill of lading at the conclusion of packing requires I sign that I have waived full value replacement insurance (very much not the case). Some calls back and forward tell me that's just how third party insurance works and I have to sign as is to get things to move. No one ever explains why, if it is separate, do I have to sign a sheet waiving coverage that includes the full price I paid *including* that third party insurance. This also makes me exceedingly uncomfortable and stressed as well. I'll check on my insurance confirmation again after signing, and only at this point spot that even the insurance is noted as being purchased by yet another company and not LDM. As for timeliness, most of my items actually do arrive in a week, though a few thousand dollars worth of games are delayed an extra three weeks leaving me to think they're lost, but to my relief do actually show up with fairly minimal damage. At last inventory, only one framed poster vanished altogether
