I can only say wonderful things about my experience with LaserAway UES. My first visit was for laser removal of my underarm - to which I completed and decided to do my bikini area. Fast forward through Covid I had never finished my sessions and asked if I can use those sessions towards another service- thinking that wasn't going to be possible I was pleasantly surprised how the whole situation was handled. Tina was so lovely as to breakdown what I would be able to transfer to another service of my choice so I decided to use it toward Botox and so happy that i did! First of let me say, I've only had a professional facial once and it was a terrible experience so I was very hesitant to get another one. I was recommended to LaserAway by my sis and the moment I came in I was greeted by the nicest receptionist Connor, and he walked me through every single thing I was going to experience. I have to say my experience with LaserAway has been great, specifically on the Upper East side. I've been doing laser hair removal for underarm, legs and Brazilian and the results are great. The best moment to write a review is when something went wrong and it was remediated. My first and second sessions for the legs went terribly wrong because it got folliculitis. It has nothing to do with the procedure but with my skin. The other 2 areas had not reaction, but the important think here is the post treatment. The head nurse had a pristine follow up, even with prescriptions; I even got reimbursed for those. I would say that LaserAway is on the more expensive side of the spectrum in regards to laser removal places but its the after care that matters. I felt confident to go back and review options after the mishap with the legs. This service is what mattered most for me to continue. I took a personal decision of not doing the legs any more, everything got well again, but I didn't enjoy it but I got credit for other services. Nurse Melissa is one of their best - thorough, knowledgeable, detail oriented and with such great personality that makes the session fly by. My others 2 laser removal areas a doing great and I'm almost done. I went ahead and booked myself other services which I will be eager to review soon. Connor and Tina at the front desk are amazing, super friendly and every time I've been there they remember me, have great energy, are super helpful with information and scheduling my next sessions. Response to Jason (owner) on original complaint! Jason, Brian Dickerson did call my daughter back after not responding for several weeks. Unfortunately he was hostile again. He told her that laser machine settings don't exist and she didn't know what she was talking about. Well that is not true. Higher settings (joules) are more effective with hair removal but sometimes cannot be tolerated so it is a fine balance. Anyone who knows how laser works can attest to this. My daughter was able to tolerate the last setting she received on the final eight leg session - increased by YOUR clinician and this should have been tested sooner for better results. Furthermore Brian told my daughter she would not be allowed to finish the sessions paid for because I came to UES location to follow up on the lack of response from LaserAway. Not true at all - Connor is the one who was rude and asked me to leave, which I'm sure your cameras can prove. Finally Brian ended the call with my daughter by saying he would 'allow' her to finish her sessions and do nothing more. Have you listened to the conversation? My follow up on minimal results is about accountability which is reasonable after paying $3600, and yet your staff has been trained to block my requests to speak to Brian's supervisor or management (bad business practice). You still owe 2 sessions on Brazilian and 1 on underarm. I have all the dates that were provided by Connor himself over the phone on 11/7/22, who runs front desk for you and I'm sure you have a recording of this conversation too. However now that I am claiming a refund with Ally, you are stating that all sessions have been completed which is not true and in direct contradiction with what Connor told me and Brian told my daughter. It is clear to me that you are not willing to address our concerns, and with the hostility from Brian and Connor, I'm sure you understand I don't feel comfortable sending my daughter to LaserAway again. This is about good business ethics and values, and humane customer service which you clearly lack as a company. Interestingly the female employees are silent or have been silenced? Brandi the woman who sold me the package, and Emma the clinician who evaluated my daughter and agreed the results are not as expected, have not responded to me. Jason the right thing to do is address our concerns and failing that, reimburse for the unused sessions and if you would like to do that you know where to find me as does anyone reading these reviews. I've only ever done Clear + Brilliant with LaserAway, so I can't speak to their other services. I paid a significant amount of money for seven sessions of C+B and unfortunately, there really was no improvement with my hyperpigmentation spots. I felt like I never really knew how I would walk out of these appointments feeling. There are some nurses who seem really knowledgeable and used to the equipment, while it's clear that others are new. With that being said, there were two sessions where the nurse had a hard time operating the machine, so it was skipping sections on my skin. The bathroom situation was also really uncomfortable; C+B is a pretty intense facial layering treatment so you need to have your skin cleaned, then numbed for thirty minutes, wash it off, and then they are able to start the treatment. With that being said, there are no sinks in any of the treatment rooms, so you have to use the one bathroom that this location has and will need to move back and forth between there and your treatment room. It was really uncomfortable though (especially during Covid-times) because there was never anywhere to cleanly set down a towel, you had to use their own face wash products which didn't have pump dispensers, and there were never hand towels available in the bathroom either. While Laser Away from Clear + Brilliant over $2,000 for the package of sessions, it's still much much cheaper than going to a dermatologists office or a more upscale med spa. However, I honestly regret choosing the cheap route for something like this because my skin showed no improvements in the end. Tl;dr consider LaswerAway for their laser hair removal, which is what they're known for, and don't go there for Clear + Brilliant. read more

However, as an African American with deeper caramel-brown skin, I have come across some wild misinformation that warned me that this treatment is damaging for darker skin tones. Because I am prone to ingrown hairs in embarrassing places that I HAD to get fixed, I dove a bit deeper and found the truth! LaserAway uses the exact laser that my dermatologist informed me would be the safest and most effective for my brown skin. My first appointment with Sharissa was truly above and beyond what I imagined! For one, Sharissa is also black- which surprised and instantly comforted me. She also has hair removal treatments regularly herself (so I trusted her). I was at ease as she lasered the hair on my legs, happy trail and even my Brazilian area! I want to be able to write a better review of this place but I can't. The service is SO hit or miss and they don't let you request nurses. Some nurses take their time and are thorough whereas others rush. My last laser treatment with a wonderful nurse took about 55 minutes and today's took around 40. My body size has not changed but it was 15 minutes faster? I would highly consider going somewhere else especially given how expensive and sensitive this type of work is. Or, laser away should allow clients to request which would naturally weed out nurses who aren't great. read more

After being removed from the situation, I thought it was time to write my thoughts on LaserAway. I did not render services from LaserAway and this is why: 1. Upon consultation I was taken through a process of what I misunderstood would be an in-house payment plan (without a 3rd party institution). This turned out to be a personal loan granted through Ally Banking. I did not want to partake in a financing option like this. 2. I reached out to cancel the payment type and asked about other payment options. I was informed I could just pay the loan in full and was unable to rescind the loan which ended up being a lie.  3. Pamela was in charge of my consultation and instead of being concerned about my misunderstanding of the terms of agreement; she was more concerned about her 20+ career in customer service and very much took this situation personally. I felt completely taken aback by her micro-aggressive nature.  4. Pamela told me the "financing option" provided to me was in consideration of people who may not have the funds upfront to afford the services. Not once during our consultation did she ask me what payment options I was considering. We jumped right into this loan. It is also extremely micro-aggressive for her to have assumed my finances based on my identity. 5. I eventually did my research on the company. Look up LaserAway on the Better Business Bureau website: https://www.bbb.org/us/ny/new-york/profile/laser-cosmetic-services/laseraway-0121-177614  There are plenty of open complaints about this company. Many people felt swindled into taking out a loan. Predatory lending much? 6. Pamela tried to tell me that LaserAway only cancels services for medical reasons. Upon pushing for the cancellation of services she tried to offer me other services as a way to stay on with this payment plan.  These people are very much about the bottom dollar and I question their business practices.  I was only able to cancel services and received a full refund because I was persistent in my resolve. I also contacted Ally Banking directly to dispute the loan and inform them of who they are partnering with. I've gotten several sessions and rounds of CoolSculpting here. I would not recommend undergoing this treatment at LaserAway and would explore the other options available in NYC. The treatment made a difference, albeit subtly, in one treatment area, but absolutely none in another, where I had 4 applications (1 round, 4 places continuously). Given the expense of each round I was very disappointed and spoke to their customer service. All they do is pay extensive lip service to the point that "everyone has different results, you probably need another round, we didn't promise anything." Noted. But if a customer sees no result whatsoever, and that's described as a rare result online as far as I've seen, a well run services company should seek to remediate ... such as by offering to redo. From what I've seen researching online, a negligible result (as evidenced by before/after pictures they themselves took) may be because the person doing the application was inadequately trained. I wish I'd gone somewhere else for this. An extra star since the people who administered the treatments were good friendly people. The person at the desk doing payment didn't know basic math and tried to overcharge me when applying a seasonal discount but that was not on purpose. For context, I'm someone who gyms frequently, eats healthily, and am overall happy with my weight, but wanted to target some problem areas. Therefore the results should have been easy to see, since there isn't much fat there to begin with. read more

I really like this location and the staff. They are all professional, and very friendly, super knowledgeable, and able to answer questions. I am receiving hair removal services for full arms, full legs under arms and full bikini. I have completed 7 of 8 sessions and am pleased with the progress so far. I do still have some hair regrowth so I will need to purchase maintenance sessions. I also received a service for a glow laser facial, which I liked. There are many locations so it's convenient to find a spot near you. The cost is more expensive than some other companies I've heard from people who received the same services I booked through LaserAway. I do like how they offer discounts and deals. I was under the impression that 8 sessions would remove all hair, which it didn't, but it has reduced a lot of the hair / made the remaining hair a lot finer/lighter. Emma was such a great esthetician (she may be a nurse, apologies if I'm wrong!). The treatment appointment was very quick and she was extremely friendly. Emma knew exactly what she was doing in terms of LHR and the technology, and was very patient with my ridiculously low pain tolerance (really, it's embarrassing). My appointment went perfectly smoothly with minimal wait time (in and out in 20 mins) but my only issue was with having to do a consult beforehand (about a month earlier) despite having done LHR many times over the years. I showed up in person not knowing virtual was an option, and was left alone in the treatment room for 30+ minutes after the consult waiting for someone to come in and was never told that I was free to leave. I thought that the consult and first session could be done in the same appointment window and I think that could have been more clear. Despite having to jump through a few hoops (phone calls, scheduling, consult), I would still recommend this place because their equipment is top of the line, the place is spotless, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I did cool-sculpting on three areas in February and I have to say the process was horrible. The salesperson who sold me the package definitely oversold the procedure completely. I was sent pictures that showed results after one session. I was not told how severely swollen and uncomfortable I would feel afterwards. I was not really prepared for what I was about to experience. The day of the treatment I felt so much discomfort during the procedure. The room was way too small and I felt the straps that were used were really old. The technician was wonderful so I do not blame them. After so many hours at this place I left and had to take a taxi home. The days that followed were horrible and I was so uncomfortable. I was bloated and numb in all the areas and could not go into work. It is now over two months and I have no results in any of the areas I paid for. In fact the areas now feel different but not in a good way. As hopeful as I was I unfortunately will have to chalk this up to a massive mistake. Please, please don't be fooled and do this to yourself. I wish someone would have told me that. I have tried to contact Laseraway and no one has emailed me back. They take your money and make you sign so many papers but a follow up phone call would have been nice. Just make sure you are educated when you are deciding to do this procedure.
