My experience with LaserAway was extremely disappointing. The sales process felt much more like dealing with a used-car salesperson than a medical aesthetics business. Don't assume the first price they give you is their best price. There always a better deal available if you push back. In fact, their overall prices are not competitive at all. The part they DONT tell you is that even if you have $0.01 left over from your balance 1 day after 2 years "promo period", that you'll be charged 20% interest on your entire INITIAL principal AKA the full amount of your initial purchase. I emailed to ask for further clarification after seeing the extra interest on my account and this person Candi Vastlik emailed back with no empathy, implying that it was my fault when this fact was not disclosed to me when I signed the paperwork (and it definitely was NOT disclosed to me), and copping an attitude the whole way. Either way, maybe try a different location, they only care about selling you packages and trying to lock you in to large payment plans over here. I've been being treated for Laser Hair Removal at the Hillcrest location since January (appointments are scheduled 6 weeks apart. I scheduled an appointment for today before leaving after my last appointment and specifically asked to be booked with Karoline. Each appointment I have had a different nurse and at my last appointment I was most comfortable with Karoline so I wanted to continue my remaining appointments with her. Every single staff member at this location has exceeded my expectations in customer service, polite, knowledgeable and accommodating UNTIL today's appointment. I arrived 3 minutes past my appointment time and checked in with a new face at the front desk by the name of Davis. He confirmed the service my appointment was booked for and I wanted to confirm Karoline would be treating me. He told me Karoline wasn't even there today and I explained I had specifically requested her when I booked my next appointment after my last visit. His response was "We don't even have our schedule 6 weeks in advance". I let him know whomever the girl was who made my next appointment told me she had the schedule for 6 weeks in advance and she scheduled me with Karoline today. He kept telling me it wasn't possible and I was in good hands with another nurse. I explained to him (several times) it wasn't a matter of competence but rather who I was most comfortable with. Davis wanted to have the last word and kept saying I was in good hands. I said I don't want to argue with you twice after telling him it was a matter of whom I was most comfortable with. He kept smirking telling me I was in good hands to which I responded over and over it's who I'm most comfortable with. There was another client in the lobby listening to our interaction and heard me say I don't want to argue with you. So I went and sat down waiting to be called back. Austin came out to the front and acknowledged my presence and asked how I was....so I got up and politely told him I wanted to reschedule my appointment and the reason why. I let him know while Davis was sitting right there my experience on this appointment was negative with Davis. I reiterated the information Davis gave me about not even having a calendar 6 weeks in advance and Austin's response was that is not always true (obviously it was not true when the girl from 6 weeks prior made my appointment). Then Austin told me Karoline had been on the schedule for today but was taken off! I explained again to him I was the most comfortable with her of any of the other nurses who have treated me. Austin told me he "got that" so I turned to Davis and asked him if he got it. Of course no apology from him only his little smirk. I am writing a very lengthy review here only because of how insensitive and unwilling Davis was to accept that he was wrong in his assumption of me being the one who was mistaken. The fact that he wasn't going to give up telling me I was in good hands when I kept explaining it was a comfort issue to me was insane. He was more concerned with having the last word, . It was extremely rude of him to not just say "I'm sorry Karoline is not here....would you like to reschedule or do you want to keep this appointment?" That is the kind of customer service every other member of the Hillcrest staff has and what I have come to expect. Your sales rep won't explain this to you, so you need to make sure you are informed. If I bought a $100 Groupon, do you think I'd want to spend $700 for more laser that isn't working? The front desk girls always had attitude as well. This LaserAway is in Hillcrest, it's located across the street from Hash House A Go Go. I used to go to the LaserAway location in La Jolla a few years ago. I saw they had a groupon deal so I thought I'd give them a call to see if they had any appointments available soon, luckily they had an opening for that evening that I called in. The lady I spoke with on the phone said I didn't need to buy the groupon online and that they'd just honor the price for me. The place is nice and spacious. I told the nurse I had a new medication and she took the extra steps to make sure it wouldn't react with the laser treatment so she did a test spot on me. I like that she took extra precaution which made me feel reassured. The lasers they use here have a cooling fan which some other medspas I've been to don't have. I asked if I could use an ice pack before my laser treatment which I highly suggest if you're sensitive to pain. Overall a good location, I look forward to my follow up appointments. read more

It's giving8g8g SCAM! If LaserAway makes an error on your account it is going to be a nightmare trying to get it corrected because apparently there are no supervisors at the LaserAway locations and they refuse to transfer you to the people who can actually correct issues. A LaserAway rep contacted me and got me all squared away with a promotional quote. I purchased 8 CoolSculpting applications but only 4 applications were loaded to my account. I noticed this a few months after I used 4 applications. I called on 4/16/2025 to get this corrected. It took much longer than it should have because the receipt erroneously showed only 4 applications which did NOT match my quote. On 4/16 | called in to the LaserAway Hillcrest location and the receptionist there told me that she saw the misalignment and that it would be taken care of next business day. A month later, I see that it's still not taken care of. On 5/22/2025 | called in again because the 4 applications were not showing on my account. Here's where it gets wild - I called the Hillcrest location, they passed me off to the La Mesa location. The La Mesa receptionist tells me that she can't fix it and she can't transfer me to someone who can fix it. She says that I can call ANY other location to get help. I call the Hillcrest location back and she legitimately tells me "the rep who quoted you this price is the only one who can fix it and she's on leave so you can call back in 2 months." Then she has the AUDACITY to offer another promotion to purchase 8 more applications LIKE WHAT!?!? After I have a good laugh she says that she can have the "directors" call me back tomorrow (5/23). Surprise, Surprise it's 6/02 and no call back or email reply from anyone. I did get a very unhelpful, empty Yelp message from yet another LaserAway employee who can have zero effect on my issue. read more

Update: 3rd session: Hurted the most so far, not sure why but it was too the point where I was even considering numbing cream for next session. But if you opt for numbing cream, they can only apply a little bit at a time so it would extend your amount of sessions. So instead of 1 session for underarms, brazilian and legs, it'd be 3 sessions. After receiving Botox and fillers from Laseraway for about 10 years, one of the nurses made a huge mistake. The injection was too close to my forehead. The Botox migrated down into my eye and after 3 days it started drooping. After a week it was completely closed. My eyelid is slowly lifting after 12 weeks. I had to wear sunglasses to work. I own my business and am the only employee so calling in sick was not an option. My eyelid is still sitting on the optic nerve which makes my visibility distorted. I shouldn't be driving and watching tv or reading a book is out too. I have run over 200 miles to help metabolize more quickly. Fast forward to the help I got from corporate. Zero. None. They apologized and offered a prescription eye drops that lifts your lid about a millimeter. Apraonidine to be exact. I'm always in need of a refill but now they won't return my calls. Ashley, the trainer for the nurses, is in charge of this case and she has ghosted me. My lawyers will be in touch. read more

Back again a year later to continue raving about LaserAway Hillcrest. The staff is so incredible, and I've really enjoyed every treatment I've gotten here. On top of the laser hair removal and hydra facials, I've now also done the clear + brilliant facial, which had stunning results, and just tried xeomin today! I can't wait to see the results once everything settles. The Laser Love premium membership is an excellent deal, if you're a regular customer I would highly recommend it. Unsure if it was just this location, however i received minimal results from an entire 8 sessions. Had someone been able to reach out after my concerns to the front desk to explain why/resolve the issue, I would have been more understanding. They were also unwilling to share the levels of laser used on me each session and ignored when I stated the laser was no longer being felt on my skin by the fourth session. I've been coming to this LaserAway location since 2020. I purchased a tattoo removal package and the process has been great, every time I go I receive the best treatment and the ladies are always so nice! I recently purchased another package for their Valentines Day promo which included one syringe of juvederm. That was my first time trying filler in my lip area (and in general) and I although I was aware of the possible side affects, I didn't know how MY reaction was going to be. I immediately returned back that same day after the procedure to make sure I wasn't haven't a harmful reaction and ended up getting a hematoma with MAJOR swelling. (Photo attached***) Couple of months later and the swelling has gone down significantly, lips are nice except I noticed they are bit asymmetrical which is why I decided to try the filler to begin with, asymmetry. Nobody told me about a 2 week follow after the initial procedure, just that if I experiencing ongoing swelling and bruising to call if I had any concerns. I was also under the impression they used the entire syringe. I called about my concern for asymmetry since the swelling and bruising subsided, still nothing about a follow up. I went in for a different service recently and mentioned my concern with the lip filler, the lady who assisted was very sweet and communicated with her manager to see if they were able to help me out. According to her manager, they weren't able to do anything at that point since I missed my "30 day post follow up" and that I'd have to purchase a new syringe. For all the money I've spent/ spending the least she could've done was honor me that and fix my damn lip! Not to mention the fact that when the receptionist was helping me that day I noticed the manager sitting right next to her and she didn't acknowledge me not once. I'm disappointed. The rest of the staff has been very nice so far. I just wish they could've helped me out for this one error that was made. I just had my fourth treatment at the Hillcrest LaserAway location. Being a medium complexion black man, I did a lot of research before trusting LaserAway with my treatments. So far, I couldn't be happier with my decision. I had been waxing my chest and back for many, many years, and after just a couple of treatments, I no longer had to shave between the treatments. (I still shave the day of my laser appointments as recommended.) The treatments were going so well, I also decided to do the front of my neck below where I grow my beard. I have seen 4 different nurses during my visits there, and everyone has been friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I would like to specifically call out Keirsten as she went above and beyond during my last visit. Long Long L O N G overdue review but after being stalked AGAIN via text messages, phone calls & emails I figure nows a good time to let potential customers know what their in for. This chain of business is only in it to get your money, make their commission and be done with it. After you've received your treatment there is ZERO follow up on their behalf. *********BUYER BEWARE********** This is incredibly important & I wish the sales rep would have told me this while she was pitching the package but she was so hyped up & it happened so fast that in the end I really regretted the whole transaction. I'm a care credit card holder & while we were discussing pricing & making the appointment she ran my card for $750 for 3 Diamond Glow Facials. I was shocked because she didn't state, "In order to book your appointment your not only committing to purchasing this package but you will be charged $750 today". There was no warning whatsoever just questions about my personal information including my address which I found peculiar but this is how they find your account & charge you. I was shook. I said "but I didn't commit to this what if I don't want to do it". She said "No refunds but we can transfer that payment into another treatment". First treatment I felt all the love from the moment I walked in to leaving. The 2 gals up front were friendly and complimentary. My esthetician was knowledgeable about my colitis which was surprising because even some nutritionists aren't familiar with it so I felt like I was in good hands. The treatment went great and she talked through it telling me her every move. When I was finished she gave me a take home mask that I used a few days later. Something I wasn't aware of was after you do the diamond glow you shouldn't be out in the sun or wear makeup for awhile and of course I did both within a few days. My skin and glow was incredible. I was really happy with the results After the appointment I made the next 2 to follow within a few weeks of one another. That was something I also didn't know which is this isn't a once a month gig. They should be done within a few weeks of each other. I returned about 10 days later and when I arrived the 2 gals up front could care less. I was running about 6 mins late because parking is really rough & when I needed to use the restroom I could tell the esthetician was a little peeved. Mind you I have an autoimmune disease that's unpredictable and causes me to have flare ups and use the ladies room The treatment went quickly and when I asked about my free mask she said "I'm sorry we're all out but you can buy the package of 3 & we'll have 2 for you when you come back". I was told the same thing when I came back for my final diamond glow so I just settled on the pack I bought because I didn't want to spend anymore $ Now this is really where they fell short. After my last treatment there was zero follow up. That is bad business because how else are you gonna have returning customers? From my experience the laser hair removal nurses at this LaserAway location are far too conservative with the laser settings. They wouldn't even tell me what Wave Length, Fluence, Pulse Width, or Rep Rate they used last time on me. The staff there are more interested in protecting themselves, opposed to administering an effective treatment, at the expense of your paid sessions going to waste. Initially I purchased a Groupon for Laseraway and when I came in I was enticed to purchased a package. At this point, I've purchased several packages. The Receptionist are all really nice. They are very knowledgeable about any of the services. However, one thing that has happened to me on several occasions is they are not always clear on how many treatments I have left in my packages. That is concerning. My recommendation is that you track your treatments. The nurses are always really nice and understanding about the pain (because it is painful ) but the results are amazing. A tip, if you are like me and the pain is unbearable purchase the numbing cream it helps a great deal. I use both numbing cream and ice packs during my treatment. Another recommendation for the company, when clients purchase packages a nice small gift would be ideal, just a thought. Overall, the place is super cute. I signed up for laser treatment at LaserAway after doing some research and reading positive reviews. However, I soon realized that good reviews do not always guarantee a good experience. Since June, I have been experiencing poor service from the LaserAway branch at Avocado. On multiple occasions, they have scheduled appointments for me, which required me to take time off from work, only to cancel or reschedule at the last minute. My most recent appointment was on September 6th at 12 PM. I received a confirmation text, to which I replied "yes," and I even arranged time off from work. Later that night, I received another text saying they had to reschedule my appointment due to a different nurse being scheduled. I called them to confirm and to inquire about canceling my plan entirely. The receptionist told me she would check and call me back, but I never received a call. The next day, on the date of my appointment, I called again to check if it was still on or if I could get a refund. The receptionist pretended the call was disconnected and then ignored my subsequent calls. When I called from a different phone number, she answered immediately. I am not typically someone who complains, but I feel it is important for other customers to be aware of this situation. I don't know if this is an issue only at the Avocado branch or if it's a wider problem. It almost feels like they prioritize certain "VIP" customers over others. When I asked to speak with a manager or someone in charge, the receptionist bluntly told me there was nothing she could do and that she would let the director know. I hope whoever manages this place gives me a call because they need to know how their staff is treating customers. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the service and lack of professionalism at this branch. I hope this feedback reaches the right people so they can make necessary improvements. read more
