My skin looks brilliant, radiant, refreshed, and healthier than it has in a long time (early 40s takes its toll!) One of the biggest wins was that she was able to remove a ton of stubborn blackheads that had been bothering me, and my skin feels so much smoother because of it. She also gave me thoughtful, personalized recommendations for my skincare routine going forward without ever making me feel pressured to buy products. The space itself is clean, modern, calming, and with a beautiful view overlooking Balboa Park, which made the entire experience feel even more relaxing. I live in Bankers Hill and I saw there was a sugaring studio called La Di Da Sugaring. I made an appointment to give it a shot and I absolutely loved it and would never go back to any other kind of wax. I used to get ingrown hair with regular waxing and since starting sugaring, I have never had any ingrown hairs or red bumps. I now recommend sugaring to everyone. This review is for Isabella. Isabella is detailed-oriented, super kind, and I love our chats when I visit. Thank you, Isabella, for making my visits comfortable and welcoming. No complaints about this studio. The only thing I would mention is that parking is hard to find, so if you live close by you should walk there.

I've treated two previous areas and I'm currently working on my 3rd. I've always had consistent, thorough treatments, until last night. My most recent session with Lyssa was the complete opposite and honestly was a complete waste of money. I had gotten off work at 4 from north county and traffic was bad so I was about 10 minutes late for a 5:15 appointment. However, the clinic was not busy and I didn't see anyone after me so there was absolutely no reason for the session to be so rude and rushed the way it was. The first thing Lyssa said/asked upon us meeting for the first time was if I was there to treat my lower-face treatment. I told her I had never done that before and that maybe she was looking at another Jessica's chart since my name is so common it happens often. When Lyssa starts the laser, she asks if it was painful and I say yes, so she asks if I want to turn it down and I say no, just turn the air up higher. She said it was already at the max setting which it wasn't (I know exactly what that setting feels like after multiple past sessions), but she insisted it was without checking. The entire treatment took under TWO minutes, and she did not go over any area twice, which is the standard every other technician here has followed. That's a $70 per MINUTE session. She asked if I needed aloe and then left the room. Cold. Abrupt. Dismissive. Such a disgusting attitude. I walked out feeling like I she ripped me off and treated me like trash. I should not have to pay full price for a session that was rushed, incomplete, and performed with dismissive attitude and zero care. Instead, she gave me a horrible experience. In my way to the receptionist, I see Lyssa in the hall and she quickly turns into an EMPTY room then closes the door behind her. When I get to the receptionist, I ask for the managers info, which I only do in extreme cases. The receptionist asks me, did you not get the treatment? And I said, "Exactly... That's how short it was!" If the clinic wants to maintain its reputation, there needs to be consistency in training and expectations. What I experienced with Lyssa was unprofessional and below the standard of this location. Sometimes employees get an entitled and rude attitude when they've been somewhere for a while. The manager was supposed to call me back today and has not done so yet.

Afsana has done my henna brows and is consistently amazing - they always turn out beautifully. Dahlal is also fantastic with threading. She is exactly the kind of person you want as the face of a salon. But then I won a laser treatment at Avalon's Christmas party, which is how I started seeing Raiza--and I'm so glad I did. What I love about Raiza is that she really listens. She's never pushy or trying to sell you treatments you don't need. She's incredibly knowledgeable and takes the time to understand what you're looking for. At 53, less is definitely more for me. I want to look like the best version of myself, not like I've had work done, and she completely gets that. She's given me the best Botox I've ever had using the fewest units, and recently she did my lips. I was nervous because I wanted them to look natural, and she absolutely nailed it. The difference is subtle, but it brought so much balance to my face. I've gotten so many compliments, and no one can quite put their finger on what's different--which, to me, is exactly how great aesthetic work should be. I also have to say that everyone at Avalon Laser is kind, welcoming, and professional. I got my very first lash lift and tint ever. She was so sweet and the results came out fantastic. I was so pleased that around the 5 week mark I wanted to come back and get my lashes lifted again, the day before leaving for a vacation. Unfortunately I was not able to book with Amy again. I booked a few days in advance with the provider Desiree on Mother's day at 9am so I could get this done early and spend the rest of the day with my mom. On the day of my appointment, my provider texted me at 5 am (4 hours before the appointment) cancelling on me and asking to reschedule. I understand people get sick and things come up, but that's when you need to find a replacement when it's that short of notice. Whether her being sick was the truth or not, cancelling on Mothers day just give the impression you didn't want to come in on the holiday. I texted back and asked if there was anyone else who could do it because I am leaving the next day and I didn't hear anything back from her. I then had to scramble and spend double the amount I was going to in order to find a place that was 1. even open on Sundays and 2. had an appointment sometime during the day. It honestly ruined my whole schedule for the day and interrupted my time spent with my mom. Under normal circumstances and I wasn't leaving for a trip the next day this wouldn't be a really big deal to reschedule. It was just incredibly frustrating. After looking over several other reviews for this place it seems like attendance and being punctual from many employees is not this place's strong suit. If somewhere is charging cancellation fees for clients for last minute cancelling, the providers shouldn't be able to do it 4 hours before the appointment, or if they can't make it, find someone who can step in. I'm very disappointed and do not plan to return to this place even though I loved having Amy work on me my first visit.

I am a Groupon girl and I've had several services from there including other microneedling and this was the worst. First, I was on my way and ensured I was 10 minutes and on my way Melissa texts me that she will be 15 MINUTES LATE. So I get there and I'm waiting, debating if I should leave but I'm already here so whatever I guess. Second, there is very minimal talk and she didn't seem to want to be there, simply "having to work Saturdays and every other Sunday soon because she needs money". Third, there is INSANE road closures and noise with the windows open, there is ZERO chance of relaxing. The service was 45min, yet it took 20 min to numb me and then 5-ish minutes of microneedling itself. The needle depth was set way too high. I should be on 0.5mm it seemed higher based on feeling so much when I was numbed already. The gliding and pressure was too much and yet, I'm almost 2 weeks in and I don't see much of a difference. Lastly, she was rushing through the service I'd assume because someone was late which delayed other services. The movement of the facial, needling and moving stuff around was obvious she was stressed, rushing and not attending to clients. Unfortunately, I will never return, and I'll wait for my microneedling person instead.

Dominika at Bare Electrolysis has truly been a blessing. Bare Electrolysis has multiple employees, I've had a few appointments with one of them, but Dominika has been the one I've seen consistently. I came to her desperate after a year of actively trying to get rid of my hairs to no avail. Not only was she the only electrolysis business to accept me as a new client, but she was so eager to get me started as soon as possible and set me up for an appointment in the same week I first contacted her. I've read reviews about how she's a perfectionist before I first contacted her, and I was not disappointed. She truly is a master electrolysis. She is very kind, flexible, understanding, has great communication with clients, and made me feel comfortable showing her my embarrassing hairs. Dominika is the BEST you'll find! She is super sweet, personable, and has a big heart. I've seen her for six treatments and already see incredible results. She is extremely knowledgeable about the process and will make you feel instantly comfortable. She truly loves what she does and wants to help women and men feel more confident. Her salon is super homey and is extremely clean. She gives you a mask to put over your face and plays relaxing spa music. Her equipment is top notch and has multiple settings that cater to sensitivity and hair thickness. She checks in with you throughout the treatment to make sure you're doing ok, and when you come back each time she checks to see how your skin was post-treatment in case she needs to make any adjustments. I have a high pain tolerance, so the treatments don't hurt for me. However, if you are more sensitive, she has numbing cream that works great and you won't feel a thing. I have been getting electrolysis done on my face for a few months now and have Sandra to thank for the awesome progress! I tried a few different electrologists to find the best one in San Diego and Sandra blew me away. She is quick while also providing high quality service. As you can imagine scarring on the face can be a fear from something like this, but my chin continues to heal nicely after each of our sessions. Bare Electrolysis is such a game changer!! I have been shaving and plucking my chin for probably 20 years, including after failed laser treatments. After only ONE session with Dominika my chin hair issues AND adult acne were practically cleared!! Huge difference in my life. Dom is so knowledgeable and informative about the process and also just great bedside manner, makes the whole appointment a breeze. She also explained maybe I didn't have acne, maybe I had folliculitis. What a shock! As for the pain, it is way less than laser and sometimes I find myself almost falling asleep on the table because it's practically relaxing to be in there with her. I really love the service here, both Sandra and Dominka really care about their customers. Sandra does an awesome job of getting rid of my facial hair and i no longer feel embarrassed to go to work and hope that i shaved all my facial hair off. I've only been going to Sandra for less than a month and already most of the hair is not growing back. I know Electrolysis is an expensive treatment; but, it's worth it when it comes down to it. Instead of paying all your money on razora and waxing, you can use it for electrolysis and the hair won't ever grow back. As someone who has sensitive skin, I had issues trying to get electrolysis done before. The pain management advice provided by my previous electrologist wasn't really satisfactory, so I tried Laser and got rid of a lot of hair before trying out this place. I am heading back for my 3rd visit to capture a few returning facial hairs. I am very happy to see that most appear to be gone for good after my 2nd session. I struggled with discomfort on my 2nd session, and she applied numbing cream which made a huge difference. She went after every hair possible, thank you! FYI: DO NOT book electrolysis in the same week as a special event. For a day or so you may have pink bumps where the hairs were zapped. Let that heal, don't touch except for usual end of day skin care. You may be hairless but a little rough and reddish/pink for a couple of days. Mine took 3 to disappear.

She is super chill and laid back, it made me feel comfortable. I really like her office setup. When you go there you'll see why. Parking was fast and easy to find and I appreciate that it's free as many places you have to pay these days. What I'm most excited about is that electrolysis is permanent hair removal so unlike traditional laser hair removal, electrolysis permanently remove targeted individual hairs that is stubborn get rid of so I won't have to pluck or tweeze my eyebrows every morning when I wake up! My goal is ultimately have my eyebrows be as low maintenance as possible. Another big plus Is the price. I find the cost to be less expensive than going back to Laser Away for maintenance which makes it worthwhile. Electrolysis does involve treating the hair follicle with a controlled electrical current, so there will be some discomfort and temporary redness but don't let that scare you it's totally worth it for long term results. I already booked my next appointment to get rid of my stubborn unwanted hair on my legs and underarms that laser away didn't completely remove. I like that she accepts cash in person after the first appointment which is very convenient. I highly recommend booking appointment with Trish.

After…read morehaving laser hair removal done on my upper lip and chin, I was not happy with the results (in fact I felt like my hair was growing in darker)... so I moved towards electrolysis and wish I had started here to begin with! My first treatment was the longest, 60 minutes, Nov 2023 but seriously after that so many of my coarse long chin hairs never grew back AS thick or AS coarse. I've been going back ever since, 14 appointments later (mostly 15 minutes but one or two were 30 minutes) and I BARELY think about my facial hair anymore. I used to be SO concerned with it and had razors in every bag, or in my car, just in case I had to tend to them before meeting up with people... I don't even think about that anymore. I'll continue going until I don't have to anymore, totally worth it! Plus Trisha is great, she's highly skilled, genuine, professional and fun. The office is cute, warm, relaxing, and clean. I chose this place originally because they accepted credit cards, had amazing reasonable prices and said tipping was not accepted, and I have no regrets. Wish I started sooner!!

Hanna was very friendly & made me feel like one of her regulars. She was very thorough during the session, making sure to get every hair. I loved that she applied a cooling gel & massage it in with a cold, metal device. I have a problem of getting red & puffy after my typical sessions, even for days afterwards, & this definitely helped cool it down. Also, it helped minimize my breakouts to almost zero during the following days which was awesome!

The gratuity is already included, you get a complimentary enhancement every month, and seeing the same therapist regularly just makes sense if you're serious about feeling better. I also asked about using my HSA.
