HORROR SHOW. Purchased ten laser sessions for tattoo removal. Sorta lightened after 10 sessions and two years of treatment but... On last session technician had the machine on way too high. She kept zapping away, then pausing and looking at the machine in a confused manner like she had no idea what she was doing. She eventually missed my arm where my tattoo is and zapped me in the lap and then fearfully started exploring my lap with her hands to see where she zapped me. How do you miss a limb completely???? I quit the session immediately after only 20% or so of the coverage and complained to Laser Away. They really didn't seem to care all that much and seemed nonplussed. I did all of the post treatment instructions but my skin bubbled up so much I could turn my arm and see daylight through my blisters. I had chunks of my skin just fall off days later. Thank God I stopped her before she did the whole tattoo. THEY WOULD NOT TELL ME HOW TO ADDRESS MY COMPLAINT WITH CORPORATE! I loooovveee this place!! I currently get laser hair removal here, and it's like magic when you get a treatment and you start to notice your hair not growing back as much. I was always self conscious of having body hair, and LaserAway solves all of that. They recommend at least 10-12 sessions depending on the area, so I got the full body package. Pain level: it typically feels like rubber band snaps, but may hurt more in sensitive areas like your private areas or anywhere near the bone. The higher the intensity, the more you may feel pain, but it's worth it in the end! The staff here are incredible, and every time I come in, Melissa is always very warm and welcoming. The nurses are great and they get into every nook and cranny of your body LOL don't be shy Overall, I recommend anyone come here over other laser places. If you're considering going in, Don't hesitate any longer! The staff is so helpful and welcoming! After hearing so many good things about LazerAway, I decided to give this a shot. First off, Walking in was an experience in itself. The ladies at the front desk are so sweet and go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and educated about their services. I was interested specifically in Lazer scar removal. I have a few scars around my knee area and a few other smaller scars from bug bites. Over the years, My legs have been a huge insecurity of mine preventing me from feeling confident in the summer time or any time I need to throw a short dress on. After walking in, They have you fill out a short form (takes about 5 minutes) and not long after they take you into the back to start the evaluation. Diana was able to help me out and give me a run down of how many sessions I would need and how the Clear and Brilliant works- making sure I felt comfortable and educated on the whole process. This post is long over due but Melissa the "director" that works in the front is so fake, and pressures you to sign and do things you don't want to do. She's not very likeable or friendly. She'll squint her eyes and and do this fake smile for half a second then look at the computer and remove that smirk off her face?? I feel like a lot of people don't like her just buy looking at the reviews already. This place is way too expensive and for the results idk I felt like I could've gotten better results somewhere else. I did laser hair removal for upper body and did 8 sessions! They made me register with green sky which is like a credit card loan company ?? another thing, this place doesn't give you a price list. They estimate how much they want to charge you which I think is honestly so ridiculous and stupid lol. They definitely scammed me and they made me sign documents and pay ON MY CONSULTATION DAY! I had been doing my treatments in this location for several sessions now and so far so good. The location is clean, staff are courteous not snobby, regular people who treats regular people like me, not pretentious. The nurse that did my treatment today was thorough, her name is Milly, she took time to explain and that's calming, reassuring and great customer service. Parking is not a problem in this location. **Please read this review if you are afraid of doing laser because of the pain** For a while now I have been considering doing laser on my bikini area, however, I am VERY sensitive to pain and super scared of it. For some reason I decided it was time to do it (I have a vacation coming up). I went there and I spoke to the manager about my options. She assured me I wouldn't feel any pain (I didn't believe at first of course!!!) but I decided to give it a try. Why not? I wanted to see how painful it was before I ask for the numbing cream. I went in for my hair removal appointment and I am VERY serious right now... I DID NOT FEEL ANY PAIN!!!! The technology they have is amazing. The laser blows a cool "wind" so you really can't feel a thing. There were some parts of my Brazilian that I fell a little bit but nothing horrible (mainly on the lips) If you are considering getting laser done but you are scared of the pain you will feel, wait no longer! I had previously left a great review.. that was only a few treatments into the first full body laser hair removal package I bought. Well in short, the laser hair removal not only completely FAILED, but the hair on certain parts of my body is actually WORSE after getting the laser treatment. It's now so coarse I literally can't get a smooth shave on my legs. I spent $10,000 at LaserAway for zero results (bought 2 full-body laser hair removal packages at $5k each)--in fact my hair is worse, and I get crazy, painful ingrown hairs like never before. My self-esteem is shot, I HATE hate hate hate shaving because my legs literally burn for about 15 mins after I shave (which NEVER happened before LaserAway), and it has literally affected my personal life; just being intimate with my boyfriend is difficult because I'm so insecure about the hair. Before I continue complaining, I do have to say that the front desk customer service aspect was always great. Tish was always wonderful, sweet, & super organized. Anyway--- my frustrations actually began in the beginning, but didn't get REALLY bad until I was halfway through my 2nd FULL SERIES of laser hair removal treatments. --I was told the $5,000 package I bought (full body laser hair removal) included 10 treatments plus "touch-ups"; I later learned it only included 8. The girl who sold it to me (Brooke) was new & misinformed, but it still sucks that I thought I was paying for more. --They had told me the face should be treated every 4 weeks and the body every 6 weeks, but because I bought full-body, they said we'd just treat everything at once. Seemed weird but I just went with their advice. --While I did notice reduction in hair after a few treatments, I also noticed the "results" simply plateau. I was worried it wouldn't be successful. The first time I told the LaserAway staff that 100% of my hair grows back in the 10-14 days before each treatment, they brushed it off and said "that's just your new follicles growing in." I couldn't help but think, "Okay but WHY are there still this many follicles at 5 treatments in?" I should have demanded they look into my situation. --There is one nurse who did most of my treatments. At the end of EVERY SINGLE appointment, she would glance over my skin and EACH time say, "Looks good!" She even did her "looks good!" at the end of my 8th treatment, said "take care," and left the room. I knew the 8 treatments did nothing more than give me a 3-4 week period of very slow hair growth, and that it would all come back soon. I went to the front desk, told Tish I was certain I needed more treatments, and she suggested we speak with the nurse. When we met with the nurse moments later, the nurse said "oh yeah, you're going to need another full series of treatments." Why in the HELL would she say "looks good!" during my last treatment MINUTES EARLIER if she knew damn well it simply didn't work??!! Why did they not insist we decide on a more aggressive approach to the treatments??! I gave in and spent the second $5,000; I somehow rationalized it. --The 2nd series of 8 treatments went the same. No real results, just a temporary (3-4 week) period when my hair grew slower. --I brought up my concerns a THIRD time, and it was then that they offered to have me meet with the doctor who would take photos of my follicles. I was instructed to not shave for 5 days before my next appointment (which was a major undertaking, since my dark, coarse hair grows so fast); I was mortified, and yet determined to make sure I didn't waste my $10k. Well WHEN I SHOWED UP TO THE APPOINTMENT, THE DOCTOR WASN'T EVEN THERE. I was PISSED. Tish suggested we just go in the room with the nurse Angelea so I could show them the hair growth. I showed them my underarm and they literally GASPED. They were shocked. I'm not upset by their reaction (although it was incredibly embarrassing), I am upset by the fact that no one took me seriously until it had gone this far. Next, the nurse suggested I do the rest of my sessions during winter when my skin was lighter (....what the hell???!!!!!!); Why would I bother doing a measly 4 or 5 sessions several months down the road? They asked me a million questions (Did you change skincare? NO. Did you change your vitamins or supplements? NO.....) They also suggested I get a hormone test. Well, I got the hormone test... came out 100% normal. At the end of it all, I got a portion of my money back because I had un-used treatments. I was told I would get some treatments for free and to expect an email detailing their offer. I never got the email. My hair is more coarse than ever, I get AWFUL ingrown hairs on my thighs and butt, and this whole thing has severely, negatively impacted my love life. Self confidence? I used to professional model, and now I honestly don't even feel comfortable in bikinis anymore. If you do go to LaserAway, my advice is to be a very informed consumer. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! After hearing good things from a friend in Costa Mesa about her experience at the location there, I decided to check out the Sherman Oaks location. The staff, especially Manager Tisha, were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. I inquired about the main service I was interested in (Velashape) as well as another I'd heard about (Thermage) and was given a ton of information. At the time, they were offering a "Buy One, Get One" deal for either treatments or treatment areas. Since I was only concerned with Velashape for one area, I opted to give Thermage a try... after all, it was FREE! WRONG! At my initial consult, at which time I told I was the perfect candidate for both treatments (sales pitch), Tisha asked her Nurse if it was a problem doing Velashape over tattoos and was assured it was not. I completed the purchase and at Tisha's urging scheduled the Thermage first since it was a one time only treatment. Had it been up to me, I would have preferred to do the Velashape first but I figured "why not". Thermage is incredibly painful, long and tedious AND you apparently see no results for a minimum of 3-6 months... again nothing I would have EVER purchased on it's own or spent my hard earned money on. Velashape on the other hand was said to have excellent results that could be seen as early as just a few treatments. So after receiving my Thermage treatment and going home with red, irritated and burned skin I looked forward to what I actually went there for. Cut to my first Velashape appointment where I waited over 45 minutes before being seen. When the Nurse did come in she was scattered and came in and out of the room at least 4 times before even getting started (even after I mentioned I had limited time on my parking meter, she took her time). She asked my to undress and put on a small robe, had my lay down to prepare and then left the room again... this time only to return to tell me they actually could NOT perform the treatment over tattoos. She went to get the manage, who then came in extremely apologetic and offered me a free treatment anywhere else I'd like, which I again said "why not". The Nurse again came in and out of the room several times and even after we got started, she even left the room with me naked, barely covered and left the door WIDE OPEN! Incredibly unprofessional! After all this B.S. and two hours later, Tisha explained that she had to "see what she could do" about the charges. I again made it VERY clear that I would have NEVER opted for Thermage if it weren't free with my purchase and that if they tried to charge me I would not stand for it. 2 days and 4 unreturned phone calls later I finally heard from her only to have her inform me that the owner was only willing to credit me HALF ($1500) for the mistake! WORST Customer Service I have ever seen! As a business owner myself, you know that at some point in business you or your staff will make a mistake that will cost you money or force you to swallow the cost of your services... it's just part of business. But for them to continue to offer me pointless other "free" services yet try to charge me and exorbitant amount of money for a service I never wanted is utterly ridiculous! Don't waste your time or money or at the very least make sure you trust your instincts and don't fall for their "deals"! read more

I'm easily turned off with businesses that are NOT clean. Especially, if it's a place where people commonly strip down. The waiting room was fine until they had me fill-out a form on the computer in a room where there were empty food containers, and a bunch of other supplies lying around. It also smelled of bad korean food. In the actual laser room, they had a laundry basket overflowing of white linens or towels. As far as the service, I was a first time customer so I didn't know of what to expect... But it's been 5 days since I've gone and I don't see any change on the treated area. I am writing this with grave disappointment. I like Maria, but they replaced her. After Christmas on December 27th I came in early for an appointment solely to discuss options for buying a package, but the new receptionist Tisha K was not disability-friendly at all. While she claimed she had been with LaserAway since the beginning for over 6 years now, her customer service skills are clearly lacking. It was bad enough that she dismissed me because she was uncomfortable with the fact that I was deaf and that she needed to communicate with me differently, but I decided to try again after my appointment. This is where she was even more rude and condescending. I had questions that I wanted to ask about treatment, quotes, and the packages, but she dismissed me once again when a "friend" (client) walked in. She tended to them and kept putting me on hold while she spoke with them in the private client rooms, even though I came early and was there before her friend arrived. I could see them chatting away about personal business in the mirror. She took advantage of the fact that I was deaf to think I was dumb. I was really hurt and felt discriminated against by the customer service. I made extra efforts and accommodations so that we could communicate but she refused to give me the time of day. What's worst, I had to walk out because she left me unattended for 15 minutes and wasted my time. She truly didn't want to serve me and she made that quite clear. I think the worst part is that I shared this feedback with LaserAway, and they never followed up with me. So much for that 24-hour turnaround to client feedback. read more

I bought a Groupon for three laser hair removal treatment from LaserAway. All three visits were a disappointment. While the waiting room/lobby area is nice I don't really like spending time sitting around waiting for my appointment to start 30 minutes later than scheduled or more! They way overbook clients for the ONE room they have. They also try really hard to get you to buy more treatment packages and the prices are always changing so I'm very suspect that I'm overpaying. The sales pitches feel like a used car lot and I didn't care for it at all. Shop around, there are better places with better prices and much better customer service. read more

This place is a joke. Treatments are at the lowest. Spend thousands to get crap results. Place used to be better 3 -4 years ago Now it's a fraud spot. Botox doesn't work on me or anyone who I know comes here. It's watered down with saline. Laser levels are lowered so you think they working but hair always returns. I spent over $1600 on this place to get my bikini, underarms and lip done. after 8 sessions, i still have quite some hair left on my underarms (about 15%), bikini (25%) and lips (looks the same as before tx) and i am by no means a hairy person! for what i spent on this place you would think that they would spend time on you. all the time i went here, i was in and out in less than 15 minutes and mind you they make you wait longer than you are seen. the last person i saw, on my 8th session even said that my hair should have been a lot less than what was showing so she took a bit longer to salvage my treatments here. NEVER AGAIN will i be back at this place.
