OMG! Kim is awesome! She did my cat eye today and everything looks perfect. First, to get to her space, enter the front door and tell the doorman that you are there to see Kim. He will buzz you through the elevators (to your right). Take to the 55th floor and then up a flight of stairs to the business level. I was confused as there is a lash studio on the first floor that is never open. Kim's space has a crazy view of Chicago from the 56th floor! I almost didn't want to close my eyes so she could do my lashes! It's a very private space and Kim is so welcoming and personable. We chatted for about the first 15 minutes or so, and then I took a lash nap. I'm not sure what happened for the next two hours, but I awoke with gorgeous cat eye lashes! I went to get my lashes lifted for the first time and saw Kim's amazing work on Instagram so I had to check her out. The cost is $60 for this service and it's money well spent. I work at a dental office where I'm constantly dealing with water and steam from wearing a mask and protective eyewear. I noticed that even with the protective gear and waterproof mascara...my lashes wouldn't stay curled. I deserve to look good at work and getting my lashes lifted made me feel fabulous. The process took about 2 hours and I went on my day off. Kim made it so relaxing that I took a nap while she did her thing. It's suppose to last about 3 weeks depending on the growth of your lashes and how you take care of them. No hot water, eye makeup or rubbing at them for the first 2 days just to be safe! I made an 10am appointment for a volume lashes. I received a text at 7:30am to confirm which I confirmed. I arrived at 9:50am to find the salon closed with the lights out and plastic covering the chairs and tables. Seeing as I arrived early, I went and grabbed a coffee. At 9:57am, I sent a text to say I was there. I thought maybe the salon had moved or I was at the wrong entrance. I received a text back that she would be about 10 mins. At 10:13 I get a text saying that she was still looking for parking because of the snow. Now I understand inclement weather....this is Chicago. I have a personal rule that I do not wait for appointments that are more than 15 mins late. If salons, doctors and other service providers don't want to wait then why should I? I'm paying for this service. It's not a favor. So I text back I don't wait beyond 15 mins. She tells me it's my choice to leave but she can't help the weather. This is a cop out. Instead of apologizing for not leaving in a timely manner, being set up and ready to receive a customer.....this is all the weathers fault. She didn't offer a discount for the delay or apologize for being late. She just excuse herself from all accountability because snow in Chicago. The same snow I made it through to be ready for my appointment on time. Also, I'm sorry you feel that way is not an apology. It's shifting the blame to me for being on time and not wanting to wait an additional 30 to 40 mins to pay $225 before tip to someone that clearly does not or cannot appreciate a new customer. read more

I didn't know what to get the first time around since every place more or less categorizes their style differently. I told her to "surprise me," and she gave me the most flattering set! I have been going to Kim for services for at least 10 years. I started out with her when she was with another business in Lakeview. I could tell, by how frequently Kim asked me to wait a moment to respond to this customer, and by the other post from today's date, that the customer was Megan S. I have been a customer of Kim's for many many years, and I have always known her to be a consummate professional who always does her best to be flexible with her schedule and accommodate her customers. Whenever I text her to confirm an appointment, I always wait for a confirmation text rather than assume that the appointment is still available. Very unprofessional. I had an appointment for a Sunday which I had to make prior arrangements to get to the city to receive a text msg in the morning she won't be able to make it. I understand people might not feel well sometimes. This was understandable. She rescheduled me two weeks later, on a Sunday as well. So I go ahead and text her to confirm the appointment, and guess what... she had the nerve to tell me she can't make it because she has arrangements with her family. If I didn't text to confirm I would have made another trip to the city to get cancelled on again?!?! Very bad scheduling. Unprofessional. Rude.
