I went here a couple of months ago to get a lash lift. The service was fine but when she handed me the mirror at the end there was literally no difference! I have really long lashes but the go straight down and they look they exact same except darker. The only reason I gave it two stars is because after I used my eyelash curler and mascara they stayed lifted for longer than usual but the still were deflated by the end of the day. If you're looking to get a lift and tint I'd recommend going somewhere else. read more

OUCH. Wait, that's it? It's over? Yep, that is what you can expect from Wink's waxing. I was terrified, but it's just business. Kam is very friendly and professional; she'll put you to ease and make you feel glamorous in no time. Besides waxing services, she also does eyelashes. Plan a good 2 hours if you get the individual lashes done. She's meticulous...and I'd have it no other way. The entire salon is pretty cold so if you are there for an eyelash treatment, bring layers. The studio is one room (but that is every studio in a Sola Salon) and has everything she needs to help you get whatever you need done. There are 2 chairs: one for the body waxing and one for the facial/eyelash treatments. Like other reviewers mentioned, it is very clean, well lit, and completely private from the public (thank goodness for the curtain and the little sign that says, "Waxing in session"). She does take walk-ins, but it is better to make an appointment since you can't talk with her if she is in with another client to figure out how long the wait is. Also, she takes credit cards. I got eyelash extensions!!! I was warmly greeted and informed about the eyelash extension process. The atmosphere was very serene and calming as there was soft instrumental music playing during my session. The end result was amazing! My eyelashes have never looked better. I had my best friend's wedding and a vacation, and kept receiving many compliments. Great price as well! My main complaint would be that my eyelashes were damaged few weeks later after the extensions began to shed. My natural eyelashes were much shorter and sparse, and this was incredibly disappointing. I believe that the perm/glue might have been used with a heavy hand during the application. I have had eyelash extensions before and this type of damage never occurred, so I am reluctant to revisit. read more

Went here for a Brazilian wax and eyelash extensions all in one visit. The eyelashes were applied first. They looked very nice and stayed on for at least the full three weeks, probably could have stayed on longer but I was over them at that point. As far as the wax is concerned I wasn't a fan. The esthetician used soft wax (I much prefer hard wax) and it took 30 minutes from the time the first wax strip was applied to the last one being ripped off. Not to mention she's quick and has an excellent memory! What I really love is the ability to book online quickly so I can see what spots she has available and plan my day/week accordingly. Additionally, Halle frequently runs deals and promotions for her returning customers so you'll always feel that your business is appreciated. For $35 you cannot go wrong. I found Wink Studio via the Livingsocial deal they offered about a month ago. I have never had any type of waxing service, so I was very nervous before going in. Kam was awesome. She was very professional and made me feel at ease. I was talking to her as if I had known her forever! I had a Brazilian wax and was completely finished in about 20 minutes. The prices are very fair for the service that you receive. The studio is in Sola Salon, which is very appropriate since you do want some privacy when having such a sensitive area waxed. Yay!!! I found a new place to get waxed! I miss my girl Lisa in Cary. I mean she set the bar high! HIGH!!!! I was going to another spot here in Charlotte and I pretty much settled. She's pretty popular but I don't believe it's for waxing. She's pretty good at facials I've heard, but I don't go for that service. I went to this place today for a quick lip wax, everything seemed okay at first until towards the end, my lip was really really red and when she put lotion on my face it started to completely burn. It felt like she had very little experience and not very responsive of my concern. When I went to pay, they didn't even know what to charge. Two stars since the ladies are very nice. They however are not good at making fans and use old, poor quality lashes. Owner says she's been using the same products for 10 years. The industry has evolved and the glues/ quality of lashes could be much better. I paid for a volume set and the majority of fans collapsed. I lost 3-4 natural lashes per fake one added on. I purchased a living social deal for Wink to get a Brazilian for my wedding. I ended up also having her do my brows for the big day and was pleased with both services. The space is: small but exceptionally clean. She steps out of the room while you change and extra curtains are drawn for privacy The Brazilian was: as painless as possible. She uses hard wax (better for you) and is FAST. This is by far the best part of the service. It's always going to hurt a bit, but she makes sure you are in and out. Leave your shame at the door because she really gets in there to do a good job. A had a few more strays than I would have liked higher up, but loved that I was done with two services in half an hour The eyebrow wax: was exceptional. I was a bit wary of having someone new do them ( i usually pluck) right before my wedding, but was running out of time and already in the chair. She did an excellent job taming and shaping them. I am writing this because I used to go to Qs all the type when it was owned by a mother and son and I had never had an issue with my nails and would go nowhere else but there. It is not under new management so I tried it out, and the first time I went I had two nails pop off after about 2 weeks. I went back for a refill and to have those nails put back on. They charged me 5 dollars for each nail PLUS charged me for cutting and filing the nails, which should be part of a refil. I have received the Babydoll Lash Lift in other locations and was thrilled to book it so close to home as I normally go to Ballantyne to receive services. Halle was very sweet and gentle. She did not wash her hands before beginning my service and that's of great concern considering we are talking about my eyes! She has posters on the wall for Babydoll Lash Lift but in the first 2 minutes of my procedure I could tell that what she was performing was NOTHING like the Lash Lift I have had in the past. First, there was no consent form, then no hand washing. Then.. Instead of using the silicone pads to LIFT the lashes, she actually permed them with a rod. She removed the solution too soon and REAPPLIED it without talking to me about what was going on. When she was finally done they looked exactly the same as they did when I walked in and she said "I didn't leave it on long enough, can you come back later?" as her next appointment haunted the halls waiting for her. WHEN I STOOD UP AND LOOKED AT HER CART I COULD SEE THAT SHE WAS USING OFF BRAND DINGY LOOKING BOTTLES OF GOD ONLY KNOWS WHAT AND DIRTY USED LASH PERM RODS OUT OF A FILTHY BOX OF OTHER RANDOM CRAP.
