She was extremely nice and accommodating over text, informing me of her available time slots, services, and prices. On the morning of my appointment, she texted me asking if I could come at an earlier time. I said yes. Unfortunately, I was running late, so I let her know over text. She called me and very brashly asked if I was on my way. I reassured her that I was close by, but she sounded very annoyed and repeated several times that it was "15 minutes past my appointment time." I apologized and drove as fast as I could to the location. Upon arrival, I parked in the back of the building and called her again to make sure I was in the right place and did not need to pay for parking. She ignored my question and told me to RUN up the stairs because she had a client coming in 20 minutes and she was "not sure what she could do for me" because I was, again, "WAY past my appointment time." She said to hurry because I also had to sign waiver forms. My assumption is that Mika had booked clients back to back that day because if she had a client coming in 20 minutes, that meant that my entire appointment was only 40 minutes long (which, in my opinion, is too short to give proper care and attention anyway). I had trouble finding the stairs to go up to the salon so called her one more time, only for Mika to say, "You know what, I can't take you anymore, there's not enough time." I said sorry again for being so late and asked if I could just get my old appointment slot back (later that day). She said no, she had already filled it so I had to figure something else out. TL;DR: I was super late to my lash lift appointment and it ended up getting cancelled. Therefore, I cannot speak to Mika's skills as a lash tech or quality of service. However, I am leaving this review to inform everyone of the unprofessional correspondence I had with her. Maybe she was just under a lot of stress today, I don't know. Regardless, there is no need to speak to anyone so rude and condescendingly, especially not a potential paying client. I apologize for wasting her time, but still feel like the bad attitude she gave me was uncalled for. I have made an appointment at a different salon where I hope to be respected as a customer instead of talked down on like a child.

Gyoungsil works out of a small, functional room inside LEEKAJA Hair Bis, the hair salon in the Madang plaza on Wilshire and Western. I've gone to her (and her old partner Lucy, per my previous review) a few times over the years, in two or three different spots, but she seems to have settled here, or has been here, in any case, since before COVID. It's a good spot, and easy to access for customers. The plaza has plentiful garage parking, and I think it's usually free with validation. The entrance is a little confusing, though. I believe it's on Manhattan, and it might only have signs for H Mart. My eyebrows are naturally thin and light, so without significant help, I kind of might as well not have them. Microblading has been a blessing since I first started getting it done in my twenties, and Gyoungsil is my preferred practitioner. I don't know enough about eyebrows to tell her what to do, but every time, she manages to make my brows look just the way I want. She's also great at making the process comfortable and relatively painless, which is not nothing when you're dealing with topical numbing cream and innumerable cuts from a small knife. I probably wouldn't do this if it were a once-a-month thing--it costs $300 before tip (payable through VenMo) and again, it involves a knife on your face--but microblading makes my eyebrows look good for well over a year (and last time, I didn't even bother with the touch-up a month later). I'm grateful that this service exists, and unless my brows stop being sad and wispy, I will remain a loyal Beautyholic customer.
