I went to get a manicure and pedicure first thing this morning. There were just three customers; soon, the number swelled to an additional 5 or 6 customers. They did not have enough technicians, so the young woman who was giving me a manicure rushed to finish. In doing so, the job that she did was in no other words, "terrible". Cuticles were left undone, the color is uneven, and it spreads past the nail onto the skin. The polish was so thick on a couple of the nails that it didn't dry for well over an hour. I've never cried in any kind of beauty, nail, lash, facial, hair appointment - until now. I have to be honest, the hour and a half I spent here was miserable. I asked for a full set of acrylics and a pedicure. Fine. Did I want gel? No. Why not gel? I don't like it - regular polish. Dip? No just acrylics with regular polish. My manicurist then proceeds to start with the powder for the acrylics before gluing the acrylics. I ask her about this and she mutters something affirmative behind her mask. Ok... She continues and by now I'm worried but don't want to be rude - I've asked her once and maybe she does things differently. She's the expert not me. But I'm worried; I see no sign of acrylic nails so I show her a picture of acrylics with the length I'm after. She proceeds to throw down her brush and get angry with me. "I ask you if you wanted tips?" Me: "really? I asked for acrylics?" She tells me I'm lying. She says again she asked me if I wanted "tips". I politely offer up that maybe there was some language miscommunication between us. (Could the dip nails have been "tips"? Although in the 20 years I've had acrylics, no one has ever asked me if I wanted tips - they've just gone and stuck the acrylics on, cut them and filled them with powder. Never an issue). By now she's super mad and muttering under her breath, so to diffuse the tense atmosphere I tell her not to worry about it, it's fine. I don't need acrylics. But she grabs my hands and starts filling off all the dried powder. The machine burns and I'm wincing. I tell her it burns but she doesn't care. I'm not a pansy but my eye start tearing up. Why? Because it's been months since I've treated myself to a manicure and pedicure. It's been a long hot summer keeping my cool with two small children and I'm looking for an hour or so of rest and relaxation, with some good looking nails thrown in. I don't want to be berated and infantilized. I always make an effort to listen carefully and make an effort in spite of masks and language barriers but im getting blamed. My nails end up looking beautiful but im there for 20 minutes waiting for them to dry. They're odd and spongy but eventually she lets me go. Within an hour of getting home, I notice the tips are weird and flappy. The acrylic is almost too thin and by now they're turning upwards despite being very careful with them. I've had acrylics on and off for 20 years and I know how firm they're meant to be. This "acrylic" is bizarrely thin and bendy, almost peeling off at the ends. And so I will be hiring a babysitter and finding time to get them all replaced, which just feels "meh". Sure, first world problems but I don't get that much time alone to treat myself to a spa service. These two stars are for the man who did my pedicure - he was very gentle, sweet and my feet look neat and polished. Thank you. read more

Went in a few days ago with a picture of what i wanted. Was told they could do it, so i made an appointment. Day comes and they were unable to do so. That's not what makes the experience. I was there for 2 hours and left wirh poor quality nails. I wanted marble and after multiple tries there was no success. Finally i settled with chrome. You can see the white come through, chrome is peeling and it hasn't even been 2 hours since i left. There are so many layers of paint my nails are not bulky. I went for mani-pedis with my mom and a friend, and the experience had pros and cons. The pros: The salon is clean and visually appealing. It does not feel like a strip mall nail salon. The employees are nice and helpful (but... see below). They offer free drinks, including wine, which is a nice touch. They do quality work. The cons: They are pretty pricey to start, but they also work hard on the upsell. I was talked into getting an SNS manicure, and the tactics included some outright false information. After expressing concern about how gel always damages my nails, I was told that SNS is "healthy" for the nails and will improve their quality. This was not the case. I found out too late (meaning after I had my nails done) that SNS is no gentler, and the process to remove them is in fact harsher than gel. My nails were worse after removal than they have ever been, even with gel. There was no reason to assure me how "natural" and "healthy" SNS is when it was not a true statement. read more

They look great, she follows your directions/ input or photos of what you want- attention to detail and most importantly I don't lose 1/2 of them the 1st week! I go for a fill every 3-4 weeks! This nail salon has tremendously gone down hill in the last year. I paid for the $52 supreme manicure today and didn't even get a hand massage. She threw some lotion and scrub on just the top of my forearms then violently wiped it off with a dirty towel. My gel polish wasn't dried properly and one was peeling before I even left the salon...she tried to redo it, but it's still rippled and not dried. I was a walk in and was seated immediately for a manicure and pedicure. There was a wide variety of polish colors to choose from. They did my gel manicure at the same time as my regular polish pedicure. It was very convenient, however as a result the manicure was lacking. I'm a few days in and my manicure is already chipped, the nails look crooked, and she didn't get the polish that close to the cuticles, so they look like I've had them for a week already. Soon enough the girl then started the massage on my legs and I really enjoyed that the most and then she was very friendly telling me what else I would enjoy for my Toes. The girl who was doing my nails I asked her if I could have the coffin shaped nails which I love. She did exactly what I asked and was very very good at doing what I requested. For most this area is pretty well known by many of the locals so it's usually busy. It's right off of 6 tueni area Lakeway. I hardly ever come to this area but when I do it's been very positive. There is no problem parking it's an open space. So I will definitely return and enjoy all I can with this petty cure and having my nails done so reason why I give a 5 star rating. read more

Absolutely unprofessional and RUDE. I scheduled an appointment and when I arrived 5 minutes early a very rude man looked at me waiting to check in and looked past me to greet the woman that had just walked in behind me. He then looks at me and tells me to go wash my hands. Didn't ask me how he could help me just you need to go wash your hands. I wouldn't have taken such easy offense but when I asked him about my appointment he started arguing with me that I was wrong about the time and that I needed to go wash my hands. Well given I am an Asian American with a very high level professional career that I can assure you has clean hands, the only thing I can do is wash my hands of such rude people. Asians are getting enough bad treatment. It's so tragic when other Asians are rude to each other for no reason. Please don't support this behavior. read more

This new salon is pretty great. It's clean and huge. They have around 18 pedicure stations! They also have 4 large mounted TVs to watch if you want (with subtitles so it's not noisy). They carry mostly Zoya and Essie which I love because Zoya is my all-time favorite brand with no harsh chemicals. Tom was my technician today and he did a good job. This was my first experience with this place, it will be my last. I was cut 4 times with the drill and no apologies when it happened. My nails came out alright, some people would say they look good. I don't think they were that great but decent. All they did was a fill so not that much work. I got gel on my toes and she used about 6 layer which wasn't necessary. The finished look was bumpy of course since she used so many layers. The technicians were not that friendly. The prices were average and the place look nice inside. I won't be returning because they were not friendly, they did poor job on my toes and my nails are ok, plus the cut me with the drill. Even though I need to wait 2 weeks to redo my nails, I don't think I can wait because I hate them so much. I did tip 24% even though I was disappointed. 20-25% is minimum tip for me. If I get good service I will tip above 27%. read more

Be aware that when they change your gel polish they only use the dremel file. My nails are paper thin just after one service. Go to a salon that does proper removal with acetone and scraping.
