This was my first experience using Laslie's. I had the unfortunate experience of having a collision very close to their shop. My previously like-new truck had extensive damage to the suspension and drive train, as well as some body damage. My truck was undrivable and I was afraid that it would never be the same. Laslie's did a very comprehensive repair. My truck is as good as new, both cosmetically and mechanically. I am impressed. It was an insurance claim. Although I was not exactly sure how to proceed, Laslie's is very experienced with working with insurance repairs, and they handled everything by working with my insurance company, and did not exceed the insurance payments, which was very convenient for me. The only negative is their payment terms. Written policy is that they do not accept credit/debit card payments in excess of $500, nor any personal checks. They take only cash, certified checks, bank transfers, or insurance company checks. Although this caused me a little concern, my repair ended up being paid in full by my insurance company. They may make an exception to this policy, because when I went to pick up my truck, they were going to let me put the balance ($1000+) on my credit card even though I did not ask for an exception, but I had an insurance check to cover it. That was nice of them. Be sure you understand their payment terms. I would certainly use Laslie's again in the future. PS: They have a cute shop cat named Beemer, and they prominently display a US flag display case in honor of our veterans. read more

I showed up today without notice asking if someone could take a look at my car, some minor issues, and one of the guys working there came out in less than 5 minutes. If you want to pay astronomical prices and be given the run-around on how "difficult" it's going to be to do a few panels on your vehicle (2004 infiniti g35 coupe), this is the place for you. Nowhere to park, a lot full of broken vehicles and a shop full of 20 somethings who are being paid the least amount possible. I was told the estimator would "be opening pandoras box" on my vehicle. Excuse me? Isn't this your profession or are you just tired of doing this for work? My repairs came to 5800 and A MONTH in the shop, for not even the whole car!!! Avoid this place if necessary. My daughter lost most of her braking power on Old Forest Rd yesterday . Pulled into the first repair shop she saw on Old Forest Rd. The mechanic told her she needed a power brake booster, 400.00 and possibly a master cylinder 200.00. She called me and I told her to take to Laslie and have Paul look at. He has done work on my cars before.They called this AM and said car was ready. Cost was 43.87. Cap on booster missing and replaced a line. Got hit by a drunk driver in a new truck with Only 9000 miles on it took almost one month to get truck back from Laslie. First Thing I noticed was that the the non wrecked sided that had been scratched from running out of the road, was still scratched. Then noticed bumper was touching body of truck. Carried it back. They made excuses even said that scratches wasn't on the estimate, I showed them The original estimate, it was on there. Then I dropped it off again to correct those issues noticed when I got it back the tail light was touching the body of the truck, and now the bumper had a 3" gap below gate and was crooked. Down low enough to see under the rails that hold the bed. The side that had scratches on it they buffed just the spots where the scratches were and looked terrible out of direct light. Orange peeling on the newly painted side in low light, and rattle in door. I Told them to leave it alone out of fear they would just make it look like the other side. Carried it a 3rd time and dropped it off after they made a bunch of more ridiculous excuses about the bumper and tail light. Truck now has 12000 miles on it and looks far from what I wish it did, but apparently it's the best they can do. read more

TL;DR: Brought vehicle in for a quote for engine light and oil leak, charged for work I hadn't been made aware of, vehicle breaks down next day after they "fixed it", and chalked it up to dumb luck after I had asked them for some money back. Called to see if they give free quotes on things. They responded with yes. Went to have them check the Engine light and take a look at why my vehicle wouldn't hold oil. They call me back and say it'll be 80. Apparently they charge for checking why the engine light is on and replacing things before they contact you. So they can just charge you. But they said it was fixed, so I was happy. Next day my wife's oil pressure light comes on during her hour and a half trip to work and she gets to a gas station to put some oil in it. It runs right through and the stick is dry as a bone. We get it fixed properly by a more competent establishment (after a 100 towing charge). I call them to get some money back because they did not finish what I had paid them for (oil was still leaking, obviously). They chalked it up to dumb luck that the oil was leaking and said sorry. Seems to me like they just wanted 80 bucks and to to deal with more important vehicles. I would have appreciated it more if they just told me they were too busy. read more

I walked in with a simple question & the two women who work @ the main store were very friendly. They told me however that I needed to go to their location behind Kia. I arrived @ this location & the employee said he would have to ask his manager about my request. The manger literally grunted no on my request & complained about how he generates money. I left, drove down the street & got the work done @ the Mazda service center just how I wanted for under $100 & in less than an hour. Grunting "no" & complaining about how you make your money in front of a potential customer is a great way not to generate business. read more

I tried getting an inspection here and they found a couple legitimate issues with my vehicle that needed repair, no problem. However they also hit me on at least three other issues that didnt exist such as they said my brake indicator light didnt work when the emergency brake was applied, which it does and always had. They said my horn didnt blow which it does, and said my high beam indicator light didnt work, and it does. I waited for my inspection and at no time did they call me back to show me any issues either. Most garages would look at what is wrong, show you, and try to do the repairs for you. Not these guys. They gave me a rejection sticker and parked my vehicle back in the parking lot, not even offering to fix anything or provide a list of what was wrong read more

When my car was totaled in an accident on Wards Road, I was new to the Lynchburg, VA and Forest, VA area. I didn't know who to turn to. My aunt recommended Laslie's Autobody. I took a chance and had my car taken there. What was an initially traumatic experience with the accident turned into a happy ending with Laslie's Autobody. They looked at my vehicle and tried to save it, but when it was deemed totaled, they had another car available for purchase before I could cry over the loss of my first car. I was very impressed. I still have that second car today and absolutely love it! That was back in 2010 and I had gone to Laslie's ever since then. Unfortunately, my family needed to relocate to a different part of Virginia last November. I was very sad to leave Laslie's. Stay away from Laslie's. I had our car done there through insurance. It cost over $7,000.00 for the repairs and the car was out of service for three weeks. Less than one week after picking up the car and taking it to FL the entire front of the vehicle began to fall off. We went into an auto body location in FL, the cost of repair was over $1,000.00 and the vehicle not drivable. Laslie's refused to assist or pay the FL auto location the money for the repair on the shotty work that Laslie's did. Both Doug Holmes (who handled the entire repair process) and Joe Laslie (owner) are the picture of dishonest, deceptive practices. I found out about Laslie back in November of 2013. I hit a deer and didn't know where I wanted to take my SUV cause I had never had an accident before. I did a search for reviews and asked people and found great info on them. They were very kind and informative in helping with my claim. Not only did they fix my car they informed me of some things they found wrong that I would need to get fixed, but let me know my truck was safe to drive. So in February of 2014 I got them to fix the problems and do my state inspection. They fixed all these things to perfection and replaced my wipers even gave me a coupon book that saved me on a few things I had done. I haven't had a problem yet I also took my truck to them this year for inspection. They did not find anything wrong at all and that says alot cause most places especially if your a female try to tell you something is wrong. They also cleaned the outside of my car for free to remove the salt and road chemicals from the snow and ice we have been having. They took me to work and picked me up and had my vehicle ready on time. I will be with them as long as I live in Lynchburg VA. I appreciate their customer service. Several months ago my wife had her parked Lexus backed into and sustained damage to the rear end. I took it to Laslie on Old Forest Road (near the intersection with the Expressway) and Doug and Dan, and Dan's son Joe, did a superb job repairing it (in 3 days), matched the paint beautifully and the cost was very fair. More recently, (two weeks ago) my wife backed into my car and scraped the left rear fender of her car on my Honda right rear fender. Minor damage...but she wanted it fixed. Back to Laslie. Another job well done in one day. Not only did they match the paint etc...but the technician went around the car and touched up any dings he could find! Smh. My car sat near the front door of the Kia repair department for 7 weeks. It was never touched. Calls were never answered or returned and when I finally spoke with someone, he initially said that my car wasn't even there... wow. When I showed up there, they finally admitted that they had lost the key and I had to wait a few more days for them to order me another key. It seemed that they went out of their way to provide poor (no) customer service. No response, no status update, no attempt to order the key that they lost and finally no attempt to repair my car or even let me know they weren't going to. Maybe they're a company who works best for friends and family but disregards the average, unaffiliated customer. Too bad. read more

We just recently had our Chrysler 300 repaired when a grocery cart ran into our parked car.
