Other dishes that received good reviews from the table included a cheese platter, the cactus dessert (mojito mousse and lemon sorbet), the fish of the day (which was cod), and the mushroom risotto. We also ordered a bottle of Cava Montjuic, which tasted similar to many other sparkling white wines. One problem to note was that we were not alerted that the fish of the day had clams atop it, which posed a problem for the recipient of the dish who has a shellfish allergy. After thirteen hours of touring, I needed a good meal. When I'm traveling, I always save the biggest meal for dinner. I read the reviews of Dune and saw some great photos of various meals. I was in the mood for tapas and salad and some vino. I stepped inside and was greeted warmly. I was offered bar seating or table. I chose a table and my waiter was cheerful and handed me the menu in English. I saw this tapa reviewed on Yelp: Bomba de salmon: a croquette shaped like a ball stuffed with salmon and cheese. I didn't see it on the menu so I decided to still eat like a Catalan and ordered the Paella special with sangria and mozzarella/ tomato salad drizzled with oil and oregano. After he took my order, my waiter served me iced water and amuse bouche: Spanish olives with red peppers. The olives were delicious. My salad was dynamite: every morsel had a great combo of cherry tomatoes with cubed bites of mozzarella and oregano. My paella came out in a cazuel dish: I asked him to replace mussels with more shrimp. The shrimps were sitting on a hot bed of yellow rice. I had to peel the skin into a bowl. The shrimps were meaty however the rice portion tasted a wee bit fishy. I've had many versions of paella and never had a fishy taste. Maybe the mussels are cooked with rice and that's why there was a fishy taste? Not sure... the portion was very filling. ?The Red sangria that accompanied the meal was sweet and delicious. I then decided to try the flan de la casa but they were out. My waiter recommended this glass of tiramisu ice cream with caramel drizzle. Out of this world! He then asked me if I wanted a flavored liquor in the house. I chose the coffee flavored: tasted like sambucca. After an unexpected jaw workout of the toughest octopus possibly possible, we gave up after eating just half of it.
