I love this bath boutique! So many different scents to choose from and the shop layout is perfect. You can "scent test" pretty much all of the soaps and once you find a scent (or scents!) that you like, you can choose gel, bath bombs, body butter, or soap. I made my purchase and noticed the cashier had added quite a few sample soaps into by bag. Each one had a label so I knew what I was trying and I'm so glad they did. My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this boutique while visiting Commons Beach down the street. I'm a beauty junkie and I love seeing boutiques similar to this so I had to walk in to just "browse." Upon entering I immediately fell in love! I felt like a small child in a candy store looking at the colorful products and the wonderful smell that I still can't get out of my head. Store wise? For it being Saturday, it was slow but I don't mind. It was well organized and clean and I felt the prices to be extremely fair priced and reasonably cheap especially coming from where I live (AKA LUSH!) Everything is well packaged and decorative. I'm very keen on presentation and for these products to be hand made, it wins a A+ in my book. Service? My experience overall was great! Sue greeted us entering, gave us time to "browse" and was able to assist us. It was a pleasure talking to her and made this shopping experience exciting. I can't wait to come back and purchase more when we come back to Lake Tahoe to visit again. Even though I do have an option shopping online to replenish, I would drive here again just to see this boutique to shop. Sue was extremely knowledgeable and answered all my questions with ease. This is such a sweet shop at squaw valley. I've come here a couple of times now and try something new each time. Started with their facial foaming bar which is their best seller. Their bath bombs are fun and smell good. Just drop a bomb into the bath and stand back wow!! You can either get a bubbly or salt bomb and it makes your skin do soft. The best part is it's clean and doesn't turn your bath water into sludge. This trip I'm trying their cocoa body butter bars that you rub directly onto the skin. Beware of letting it get too hot it will melt right away. I chose the full coconut bar and it smells and feels lovely. read more

I went skiing at Squaw Valley and of course had to check out the shops at the bottom of the mountain. My roommate and I found this awesome ripoff of Lush called Lather & Fizz. All things considered, if the sales lady which was trying to sell the stuff over on me wasn't so pushy and FAST (she explained nearly all their products while toting me around the store in less than 3 minutes swear to God). Not to mention that she said the bath melts were "original to them"...hah...not. They have the usual...soap, bath bombs, and the like. I sniffed many and liked few, but the few I liked were really nice. I ended up buying one bath bomb which, thought I forgot the name, had something to do with a Frog...it had a surprise inside...and...you guessed it, it was a little plastic frog. I also got the rose soap, which I have yet to try out. My roommate also bought a few soaps, so I'll send him over here next to make a review! My main drawbacks are 1) they constantly have to mention their celebrity status by clinging to the coattails of Opera and Ellen and 2) I'm not sure how natural their products are, no where on the website is it listed whether their ingredients are vegan, organic, fresh, or whatever buzzword you are looking for. I'd rather stick to my Lush which explains in detail all the product ingredients in layman terms. read more

So pleased to have found this fine little 'feel good' shop while visiting beautiful Lake Tahoe. Personnel are friendly people who took time to provide excellent customer service. Since I have a collection of soaps, I chose to test a couple of the massage bars. They are AMAZING - and so nicely scented. The oils are excellent for helping skin be soft and smooth (especially legs) - and good for shaving. The positive experience excites me to try the in-bath treatments (buttercups and bath bombs). I placed a hefty order to stock up for myself and to share with my best friends. Order directly on-line from Lather & Fizz's on-line venue. It seems that most items can be found on Amazon.com, however, shop directly from the store. The shop provides wonderful, personal customer service offering products at the same prices with free shipping with a $35+ order. I had a question about my on-line order. The store clerk/manager promptly answered the phone on the 4th of July, pulled my order and quickly assisted me. How wonderful! We briefly chatted about the products and the best way of shipping in summer since massage bars are affected by heat. (I felt like I was in Lake Tahoe again.) They make this amazing body bar that looks like soap, but when you rub it on your skin it is a thick lotion. Dropped into this cute store last Saturday while killing time before I had to leave for a flight. I wasn't expecting to buy anything, but I wanted to take a look at the advertised bedhead pajamas. In fact, I didn't even realize before I walked in that the store sold anything other than Bed Head. I poked around at all of the different soaps and bath bombs- everything smelled so good! My friend found the cutest Japanese cards and they were a steal at $2.50. When's the last time you could find a cute non-Hallmark card for $2.50? I wasn't planning on buying anything, but ended up getting the "clay time complexion soap" and the "spotless blemish stick." I really like the soap and can see myself ordering it online. So overall, it was a pleasant surprise to pop in Lather and Fizz while on vacation. read more

This is a cute little store in Squaw Valley Resort's Village. They are a little pricey, but then again you have to look at location. The ladies there are amazing! Really nice, very knowledgeable, and their products are fun and frilly. They have a great selection of stuff for men also, so don't feel bad if you have to drag your male counterpart along. My favorite is the massage bar; it actually turns into lotion as you rub it on your skin. Very cool and I haven't seen it anywhere else. I come to this little shop every time I get up to Tahoe to ride at Squaw Valley... guess they opened up shop at Northstar now too, but i really do love this store. they have tons of great soap(by tons I mean it comes in HUGE blocks!) and lots of other body stuff. I was kind of amazed the first time, because for once I didn't get nauseated by the smell of bath products- the owner said it's because they use oils instead of perfumes. yay! Great place to buy gifts- from a big basket to just a stocking stuffer. I personally love love love the pajamas- kind of expensive, but rad and well-made. I have a couple pairs already(oopsies! haha) you can pretty much roll in, tell them what you're looking for and they'll put it together for you- complete with a cute bag. Love it. Every time I go to Tahoe I stop here! They have amazing products! I just got introduced to the lotion turned powder silky bliss they call Liquid Underwear! It's the best stuff ever. Smooth going on and dries instantly leaving a dry but gorgeous finish! This stuff is heaven! I wandered into this shop while killing time at Northstar. At first glance, this place seems like a lot of other lotion and potion stores. But, it's not. They carry some amazing things! There is something about the cold mountain air which just zaps any moisture. My skin is so dry! But! I found these massage bars at Lather & Fizz and my problem is solved. These bars are shaped like soap but are pure butter. They come in some delicious scents. All you do is rub it on your body and it melts onto you skin. You rub it in like lotion and it is just magic. WONDERFUL! They have bath bombs, coco butter "bombs" and all kinds of lotions and soaps. The scents are fabulous. If you're a PJ kinda girl (or night gown, night shirt, etc.) this is you go-to location for BedHead Pajamas! I can't vouch for the staff or the quality of the physical store since I have never been there. Lather and Fizz replaced a GREAT website/product brand I used to order from, called Splash Bath. For YEARS i touted this brand, and specifically, was OBSESSED with the claytime complexion face soap. This product was unlike any I ever used. I would recommend it to anyone I came across and gave it as gifts any chance I got. I used to be able to acquire this soap at a store locally in San Diego. Once Lather and Fizz took over the brand, I began ordering online from them. Although the price was the same, every order I received the bars got smaller and smaller and smaller. They went from about 5oz bars to less than 2oz for the same price (I weighed them to make sure) Their website used to say that all bars were approximately 4oz. Since I've complained, this disclaimer has been removed from the website. I called to complain about this and got some schpiel about how the price of essential oils went up etc. I explained I had been loyal to this product for over 6 years and felt as though the amount of soap I was receiving was NOT worth the money they were charging. They seemed indifferent and in turn, lost my business. I have since switched to using an Origins brand face soap which is a GIANT bar, all natural and uses essential oils. Its double the price but I get 3 times as much. I found it very off putting that as a small business, they seemed to not care about the long standing customers. I would not recommend buying from this business but if you can find the claytime complexion face soap anywhere else (at least a 4oz bar for $5) then I would recommend that product read more

I usually stop in during our annual trip to Squaw. I like their exotic east soap and the bath bombs make a nice after snow workout treat. I would say prices are comparable to LUSH--definitely on the higher end, but what do you expect from Squaw village. Minus stars for varying levels of service--some days they are friendly, others, they couldn't care less if you were there. One time I purchased products as a gift for a friend they just put stickers over the price--no tissue paper or bag. read more

They make your bath water soft, without turning into a greasy slick pad(like lush, yuck!) their soaps all smell yummy and are great for the skin. After a day in the mountains my friend and I were both eager to try out our bath bombs later--the next day we were smelling damn good! I used the milk & honey scent & would definitely recommend it.
