I wanted to share my experience with an incredible tailor/seamstress/alterations. I had the perfect dress ordered. Covered head to toe in beads. When it arrived it was going to require about $2000 plus in alterations (even though it was a custom dress). I just sat down and cried. Here we are going through a pandemic, my fiance has a heart attack and it leads to a triple heart bypass, my wedding will more than likely be delayed and my $4000 plus dress does not fit. I didn't have the kind of money to basically have my dress altered to actually fit me and started to believe I would just need to give up and find some cheapie dress that actually fit. And then I was connect with Wong Long. She cut me some discounts knowing what I was going through. My beaded head to toe dress needed to have most of the beads taken off, be taken in at least 4 inches on each side and in the shoulders (which are also all beads) and be hemmed to fit my 5 foot tall self. I just got home from my first fitting after she did the alterations on the sides of the dress. SHE IS AMAZING. Shes done all this work for a beyond fair price and has made the entire experience a one on one thing rather than me feeling like a number coming in and getting adjusted. She wears a mask, took my temperature and she has a whole back showroom with wall to wall mirrors so you can see every angle of your dress and if something should be changed or moved. If you need alterations..... PLEASE go to her. Shes a one woman team who has more years experience than I have been alive (and Im 39). I couldnt be happier with her help and I promise you will NOT be disappointed. PLEASE tell her I sent you. Im forever grateful to her. (she only deals in cash and checks so no extra charges incur). After my wedding I will share a picture of before and after of my dress.

She lied to my face by saying she tried to clean it but said it wouldn't come out and then had the nerve to say it didnt matter because no one would notice...yeah! A giant orange stain on my butt!! It took my mother 2 minutes of scrubbing to get out the stain, so it's clear she didn't even try!! Was never told until pickup how much just a hem would be to alter- 300 bucks!? Also told me at my final fitting that I had gained weight about 20 times and would NOT stop saying it despite my fiance and dad sitting in the next room (note I've lost 12 lbs between 1st and final fittings) ... Who tells any bride 4 days before their wedding that they've gained weight!? SO RUDE. Such a mess... avoid!!!!

I think some brides get confused with her…read morework ethic though; she will not do a job for you until closer to your wedding date (in terms of her having less liability for a bride loosing or gaining weight). She worked with me on what I planned on doing my wedding day, so that the dress could work around me. Also, she was genuinely interested in my future husband, how things were going, what my family was feeling... the whole deal. It was nice to talk with such a veteran of the field. However, with this experience I also got to hear her frustrations about other clients. I felt that I was put in awkward situation listening them. That's not to say that the quality of her alterations is lacking. She did a great job and I love my dress. It was a little pricey, but I still believe it was worth it. So here are my recommendations on working with Lupee: 1. Be respectful. The woman knows what she's doing, and you are also in her home. 2. Do not expect to get your dress fitted until 2 months or less before the wedding. 3. When in doubt, ask! She gives honest opinions. 4. And don't bring your family to the fittings. You are wearing the dress, not them. Besides, Lupee becomes a second Mom anyway. :)

When I had my work done, her website wasn't functioning at the time, but she was still very much in business. I gather that she mostly works by word of mouth, so please consider this to be my whole-hearted recommendation for her services. The suit she tailored needed a fair amount of work done, and now, it looks like a professionally bespoke suit. Speaking of bespoke suits, that's what she primarily does these days. And while I was there, I saw a few examples of her work - stunning handwork, fantastic detail. I'm saving my pennies for a bespoke suit from Francesca.

Francesca is a European Master Tailor. She did the alterations for my wedding dress and my…read morehusband's suit. My dress was a sheath design, with a slightly retro feel. The bridal shop told me it just needed a few alterations, but I wanted it to fit like a glove, so I called Francesca. It turned out, that for the fit to be perfect, my dress needed to be practically taken apart and resewn. She is amazingly detail oriented, down to removing her lipstick before coming anywhere near my dress and taking her sewing machines apart and hand cleaning them before working on my dress to keep it spotless. The fit of the dress was incredible when she was finished. Not a flaw anywhere that I could see. She also reworked my husband's Ralph Lauren Black label suit that the "tailor" at Ralph Lauren had completely massacred, as well as another Zegna suit of his that the alterations department at Nieman Marcus had butchered. Both fit him incredibly when she was finished. She completed my dress in a week, and both of my husband's suits in just under a week. She is a little pricey. Be sure to get an estimate from her before she starts work to avoid sticker shock, but in my opinion, she's completely worth it.
