I pulled up to the cones cause there was no parking as there was very limited parking and asked if I could donate the stuff there or where I should park. There are no signs designating where to park to donate items and he could have simply directed me. Another individual came out who was very nice and helped me. To clarify I was not rude to this individual and was asking for assistance. I believe he is racist and he refrained from looking at me or directly speaking to me.

Looking at this place from the outside, you would think there would not be much here, but there's definitely something to see once inside. It is in an L shape where all the ladies clothing is on one side and the men's clothing, knickknacks, glassware, and everything else is on the other side. Some yelpers complained about the smell of this place, but on my visit, I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, except a mildly dusty aroma you would expect to find in any thrift store. Many of all the knickknacks and such are on short separate aisles, but all the shoes sit above the clothing racks. I didn't find anything on my visit here, but I was impressed with their decent selection of items. They also also have a very friendly positive staff that work here. My sister dropped off my vintage mink jacket on Oct 15, and I was told it would be ready in a week. When I came back, it wasn't ready, and I never received a call. On Nov 13, I went in because their phone number didn't work and their Facebook was unresponsive. The jacket was ripped to shreds. I was told to return at 6 PM to discuss with the owner, driving an hour during rush hour, only for him to say he could fix it and would call in two weeks--he never did. On Dec 17, after another rush-hour trip, the jacket was still not fixed, and I was met with unbelievable rudeness and hostility. When I asked if there was anything they could do to make this right, the owner completely ignored me, and another employee yelled at me over and over that she verbally told my sister that the cleaning was "at my own risk." She said I should feel lucky they didn't charge us upfront. How do you 1. Accept an item you're not 100% sure you can clean safely and 2. Be so rude and unapologetic after completely destroying an heirloom? I'll never be able to replace this jacket and they didn't even offer me a free dry cleaning token for destroying it. I get that mistakes happen, but I am appalled - embarrassed even - by how they treated me as a customer and handled their error.

We hired a photographer and gathered our team together for a photo shoot in the next few weeks. The photographer provided us with clothing recommendations and that is when I had the Aha Covid moment. I hadn't worn a suit or a business jacket in years. Pre-Covid for sure. To be fair, I rarely did to begin with, but I did have a suit and a couple of jackets. I pulled them out and to my surprise, none, I mean not a single one of them fit. It wasn't that I had gained significant weight, but the last 3 yrs I have been regularly working out with a trainer. The jackets fit as well as the jackets Pee-Wee Herman used to wear. I needed a jacket and needed it in a few weeks. I have driven by Capra, numerous times over the years and promised myself, that I would treat myself and pick up a suit there one day. Well this was a perfect time to do so. I grabbed Suz to head out to Capra. They are easy to get to and have a parking garage at no cost. Which is a plus. We walked in to the store and behold, all sorts of suits, jackets, shirts, slacks. I mean everything a dude could wish for. I made my way in and Ivan approached me and asked if he could be of service. I explained why I was there and my timeline. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to have a suit made in time for the photo shoot, but he did let me know of a very nice high end line of ready made, if you will. We looked at swatches and being a favorite of blue, found a colour that I really liked. He looked at me and said, I believe your are a 48R, which I was a few years ago. So we slipped one on and immediately went to a 50R, if I remember correctly. He jumped on a call quickly, only to find out they didn't have one in stock that size, but had options. Again, this was a timeline issue for me. I knew I was pushing finding something of quality with only a couple of weeks notice. Ivan had an alternative, which was actually my second favorite, so we went with that version. He let me know it would be shipped in a few days and he would give me a call once at the store to be fitted. True to his word, he called and I was off to get fitted. The jacket was everything I expected. Fine tailoring, wonderfully soft material and the colour was perfect. He spent about 5-10 minutes fitting it, making chalk lines and let me know when it would be ready to pick up. Less than a week later, I popped by to pick it up, it was fitted correctly and off I went. Ivan was polite, insightful, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. A pleasure to work with. I will find a time to come back and have a suit made at Capra and find reasons to wear as often as possible. What a great experience all around.

Not exactly the time you want to be improvising your wardrobe. That's when I met Danny from Bonobo's in Downtown Austin. From the moment we connected, Danny brought a calm, grounded energy that immediately put me at ease. He didn't just help me find clothes--he really listened, understood the context, and dialed into exactly how I wanted to show up. Within a short time, he pulled together outfits that felt completely aligned: sharp, thoughtful, and elevated without trying too hard. What stood out most was how intuitive Danny is. He balanced style with presence--making sure everything fit well, looked great, and felt authentic to me. I walked into SXSW feeling confident, put-together, and fully ready for the caliber of conversations I was stepping into. Honestly, what could have been a stressful situation turned into a great experience because of him. If you ever need someone who can think on their feet, understand your vibe, and deliver under pressure--Danny is exactly who you need. I do not know many people I trust to get things done how I verbalize them. Rick is an exception, so let me explain what I wanted to do, the quality, and the execution. I had an idea to create some jean tote bags you get for free from YSL when you buy clothing (yes, I splurged because of my job; I landed and purchased something for myself, haha). I then got some pretty high-end zippers, one in gold and one in black. Not only was the job done DOPE AF, but it felt like you could buy them that way! The other thing was distressing some of my coveted jeans. It was challenging to trust Rick blindly, but with my minor update to him and some images I shared, his team came through! They look perfect, Rick provided some insights on fashion regarding what not to do, and it was perfect. IMHO, you want to avoid taking custom alternations to someone who doesn't get fashion, especially when it's a bit complicated (aka bespoke). Felt like I was in NYC/LA again with how he got things done. I highly recommend Soto & Co., and I'm going back to do my other jeans! Thanks again, Rick! Let's make some crazy things happen in 2023!
