BTW, a tell tell symptom of a professional outfit for me has always been how clean and organized a company is. It was two different charges that didn't really make sense because you couldn't have really done one without the other. It felt like I was taken advantage of as a single woman on a holiday weekend who didn't know how easy/quick the repair would be when I agreed to the cost. The service man also told me that the credit card payment on his tablet wasn't working so I had to pay by check. I wasn't planning to dispute a charge, but this made it to where I didn't have the option. I responded to two different text surveys with this rating and information and was assured both times that the service manager would follow up and they never did. My father also called multiple times and never got follow up. I was waiting until we heard back from them before I posted a negative review (I communicated this to them), but it's now been over 4 weeks. I have used them for repairs before without issue, but will not be using them again and would not recommend them to my friends/family/neighbors.

Absolutely atrocious management. They came to look at a…read moreplumbing issue in our shower. While searching for the problem they blew our sump pump and flooded our garage with sewage water. This resulted in us and our 2 small children and my mother in law who has advanced cancer and lives with us having to spend the night in an Airbnb, and we lost some stuff we had stored in garage that was destroyed. I will say the workers on site moved quickly to avoid losing a lot more stuff. My main complaint is with the owner/ manager who has been awful. The workers told us on the way out to not worry about any payment for the day (obviously as they didn't solve the initial issue and caused a much bigger one), then two weeks later the owner reached out, told us full payment was due in 2 days and if we didn't pay in full (we offered to pay half in good faith especially since we haven't asked for reimbursement for any of the expenses their mistake caused us to incur), she would immediately file a lien.

I hired Cahaba Valley Plumbing to complete the plumbing work for my basement project, which…read moreincluded a bathroom and kitchen. The initial quote was competitive and communication at the beginning was good. My basement renovation is being completed in phases, and the bathroom was the priority so it could be functional while we wait for the kitchen cabinets and counters to arrive. After payment was made, I had difficulty getting the bathroom portion fully completed. When he returned, the toilet was mounted but the remaining items needed to finish the bathroom were not installed. I was told the remaining parts could not be located, but they were actually in the shower area in the delivery boxes. When I asked about finishing the bathroom, I was told the work would not be completed until the kitchen cabinets arrive, which may be several weeks away. In my experience, the communication and customer service changed after payment was made. I was also asked to pay the full amount before the job was finished, which I later learned from the inspector is not always typical practice. Because the bathroom portion of the work remains incomplete and the timeline for finishing it is uncertain, this has been a frustrating experience. Based on my experience, I would likely choose a different contractor for future work. I am currently in the process of filing a complaint with the plumbers and gas fitters exhibiting board. I will also continue to seek legal action for the unfinished work as he has made it clear he will not do the work until he's ready to do it. Update: After a week he finally responded to an e-mail I sent to the company, and to my surprise, he contacted the City of Fultondale and came off the project (after I've paid him $4,000).
