The Laugh Factory in Chicago is a fun comedy spot for anyone who appreciates some causal comedy. I especially like the Drink Date Laugh show where the comics tell funny/rediculous stories of relationships and in-between sets the host trolls audience members about the questionnaires they filled out. Went to celebrate someone's birthday at the laugh factory and it was easy to park, street paid parking. I already had bought my tickets online and it was a nice process so when we got there we checked in right away and got seated. There was a minimum of two drinks per person, they have water if you are not drinking, they also have tea, beer and mixed drinks. The service was good since the waitress came around often. As for the comedians a couple were good and others were either beginners or were not well prepared since they didn't deliver the jokes well. The place is of a good size and the seating is well arranged since there are a couple of levels of seating. When the shoe ends you can meet the comedians if you like. read more

Not a Chicago company/venue, and it shows through and through. Two stars because the comedy itself was well above average. 0 additional stars because the venue policies were awful and the service was below average as a result. First: ticketing is antiquated: $1 fee to use will call or else you are required to print at home. No, not on your phone. On a piece of paper. They have to "take" the ticket, apparently, not just look at it digitally. $27 for VIP tickets was steep to be sure, but I hope they are paying their acts well. The comedians were cool. There was only one server for all the seating, so, knowing the drink minimum, my group went and ordered cocktails at the bar to sit down with. I stayed seated and a customer from behind me learned forward and said "hey, they're going to screw your friends with the drink minimum. They aren't going to count the drinks you get from the bar, only 'seated service' drinks count." My friends had already ordered and I assumed, since the drinks are ALL from the laugh factory venue anyway, that we'd be able to work it out. I should have known when random patrons were warning me about the policies that they were a real problem. Needless to say, it became a huge problem. Never seen a venue that REQUIRES you to hand over a credit card when they come around - even if you already have a drink in hand. Most venues suggest it, but if one or two people in your party aren't drinking, etc, they don't push it. Not this place. Long story short I ordered bottles of water, but since my friends were all going to have to have 3 drinks (because of the bar snafu) I decided we should order some food. That's when I noticed there wasn't a menu. Drink minimums and no food? We were all driving! Not good news. So, I went to the ticket takers and asked if I could bring in some snacks from walgreens so people aren't drinking on an empty stomach. They said "no the venue doesn't allow it, but you could stand outside and eat your snacks on the sidewalk before coming back in." Okay, yeah. Expensive tickets, no food, no snacks, drink minimums enforced with no regard for the circumstances of the individual... I've had better service all around from most other shows I've attended, including comp ticket shows. read more

I was here on vacation with my boyfriend , he bought comedy tickets for us to go here. The comedians they had on Nov 5th were absolutely horrible . The comedians were all very racist and horrible jokes. We walked out with in 30 minutes if the show. Drinks were horrible basic college kind of that . We will never be back here. read more

My first time here with a friend. I got a good deal on tickets so i said why not try it out. Parking is a maze so get there early to find parking in time to get seated for the show. The show was amazingly funny and they had a variety of comedians. I definitely got a lot of laughs last night. I will admit the drinks were pretty steep in price. I did a double shot of a ameretto sour and that counted as my 2 drink minimum and it was $20. I didn't care for the drink but it didn't take away from the good time and laughter. I came here to see a friend, and he was very funny. That part was totally worth it. That said, I rarely come to comedy clubs on my own, and I doubt that will change. These type of places are not anywhere people come to hang out. Due to the nature of several shows a night, everyone is rousted out after each show. Not conducive to hanging out. read more

Went to an 8pm show on a Friday night. They allow VIP to begin seating an hour before showtime and everyone else beginning 30 minutes prior. We got there around 720 with regular tickets, but still got great seats. I don't think VIP is worth it for the 8pm show. When we left the line was pretty big for the 10pm show though so VIP might be worth it then. We found parking a block away with spothero for like 5 bucks! 3 stars is mostly for the service and drinks. We ordered a miller lite ($5), a margarita ($11) it was SO weak.. couldn't even taste the tequila at all, next round we both got champagne splits ($9 each). Server was ehhh, pretty slow, didn't bother coming by more than the two minimum drinks you must order. Which doesn't have to be alcoholic. Apparently you can get a bucket of beer and it comes with complimentary tickets. We found out overhearing a different server suggest it to her table.. after we already ordered. I would give the performers 5 stars though! I laughed a lot and one guy even had me in tears. It finished around 9:35pm. I'd probably come back and get slammed before coming in and just order sodas for my 2 drink minimum. read more

I cried from laughter the night that I came here with a group of friends! The host and the improv group were HILARIOUS! A couple out of the 4 standup comedians were pretty good, too. Definitely not a bad deal for such a great price. Good place to go with friends or even on a date! The only sad thing was that they don't serve food!The menu they gave us had a food portion but they informed us that the kitchen was closed indefinitely. Went on Saturday night to see the 11:30 nasty show. Be sure to come early because there was a long line, but it did move quickly. The venue is pretty large and despite being sat all the way in the back the view was pretty decent. The drinks were good and were reasonably priced for a night out in the city. The issue was that the people we were sat next too were obnoxiously loud and rude. They were not laughs or enjoying the show, but complaining about the comedians and having a side conversation. All the noise made it difficult to hear the show. The venue doesn't do anything to deter this behavior and keep it from ruining the experience for other. Also, the drink experience can be done better. Instead of having people interrupt the performance to take orders it would be easier to allow people to order on their phones. read more

Wow first of all they only take cash to purchase tickets really? Secondly the show started at 10 and they left us out in 18 degree weather. The emcee was not funny at all neither were the first 3 comedians. Thank god for Matthew Ryan and Mohammed.
