Fun place to get some laughs. The venue is a nice place. Newer and modern different than the older places in Los Angeles. The place is very spacious too which is nice since often times you will be crammed in very tight spaces. The stage is large and the drinks are good. I did feel like they had smaller drink sizes but they were heavy handed with alcohol. Good times read more

I have lived in Long Beach for ten years and I finally made it to the Laugh Factory with my husband and father in law. We were walking by headed to the Auld Dubliner when a gentleman in a nice suit and a pony tail recommended we come see the late show. We began brief in conversation and my father in law decided we should go. Not knowing what to really expect we decided to venture in and wow. WE HAD THE BEST TIME! They did inform of of the two drink minimum and we did VIP (i think only $10 more) we though it was worth it, got to see the ending of the first show and then were seated early for our show. A nice young lady host took us down and let us pick where we wanted to sit so we sat on the first row of benches. CLOSE but not THAT close. Immediately we were greeted by out waitress Maddy who was through out the night ended up being exceptional. She was really accommodating and brought every thing we asked her for. All in all while tending to several other patrons. The comedians were very funny and I'm just glad we didn't sit closer as they had some great jokes for the people up front! So much variety. We enjoyed it so much we went back the following seeking right before Christmas, this time we took some friends and asked to me seated with Maddy if she was working and luckily she was! Once again THE BEST SERVICE!!!! And the comedians were on point. My husband and I look forward to our new date night spot! Thank you Laugh Factory and your hard working staff, if it wasn't for the man in the pony tail (really really sorry i don't remember you name) we would have never found this gem. I cannot recommend this venue enough. We went to the 10pm show on 1/7 and walked away with our cheeks in pain from the laughter. We're already planning to make this a regular spot we'll be checking out. read more

Every second Sunday is latino night. It's a mixed diverse crowd ranging in age & ethnicity. Beny Mena is the host & he puts together a hell of a line up that will keep you laughing out loud ALL NIGHT! Drinks a fairly priced & the service is fast & friendly. Lol no one answers the phone service is shit upon arrival... went an hour before a show to try to get in and they said they were sold out when I could still buy tickets online ??? Better off buying a bottle of wine and watching comedy snippets on YouTube read more

Came in with my girls and had an amazing time. This location is at the pike in Long Beach. You can park at the structure there or do what we did. We uber! We were seated near the stage, and had the bestest service. We complained about our drinks and the waitress came back with our drinks fixed! The bathrooms were clean, the inside of the building was clean.. it was just an all around fun night. Can't wait to go back!! read more

My husband and I decided to try this place out @laughfactory in Long Beach. We've been going to the Irvine Improv and we enjoy going out to dinner then a show. We went on Saturday March 4th. We finally sat down and we ordered our drinks. The waitress asked for our credit card and she kept it for the entire duration of the show. My thought was I hope she doesn't get the credit cards mixed up with other orders. Towards the end of the show she shows up with the bill and my husband just signed without checking the bill because it was dark and he was listening to the comedian. My fear materialized when we got the bank statement showing 2 charges and not one of them was our bill. We challenged and unfortunately my husband signed one of them and it was so much higher than our bill would have been. If I decide to attend this place I will pay with cash. If you do use a credit card, review the bill thoroughly to ensure you're being charged properly. read more

This was my first ever stand up comedy show and it wasn't disappointing. The comedian--Rex Navarette-- was hilarious. I could not stop laughing through out the show, we caught a good one that night. The venue was really nice and since we bought VIP for the 10 pm show, we were able to choose seats that were just right. The only reason I leave that last star out is because our waiter apparently added $5 to her tip out, when we clearly tipped her cash. I think that's illegal.I'll just let it slide and have the next guest she screws over deal with it. overall, we had an awesome time and look forward to the next time we go. read more

I've been to Brea Improv and Magic Comedy Club in Hermosa Beach. Both serve dinner but this place only serve chips. Service and ambiance were excellent. Tickets about the same. Comedians were excellent. It was my first time to LB Laugh Factory and I'll be coming back. read more

This place is a joke. Support the comedians elsewhere. No where on the website do they confirm vaccination requirements. Absolutely no where. Our birthday plans got ruined. Not only that they were an hour late checking everyone in. The show started over an hour later and everyone was standing in line in the cold. This establishment is run by clowns. Check out the rec room in Huntington or any of the improvs where the professionals work. read more

Over the weekend, my husband and I saw the 9:45pm "The Night Shift" comedy line up. It was our first time at the Long Beach Laugh Factory, so we didn't really know what to expect. The show was excellent. I would say 3 out of 4 of the comedians were really funny. The waitstaff was super friendly and quick to bring your drinks. I think the sound in the venue was on point. The aesthetic inside was... definitely homey and eclectic. There's obviously a lot of history at this place. A few tips: 1) There are signs everywhere on the website and on menus about a "2 Drink Minimum." My husband asked our waitress if we really needed to get 2 drinks and her reply was, "If you want to." So, if you're not a big drinker, don't feel pressured to buy more drinks than you need to. I don't think it's that big of a deal. 2) That being said... Drinks are cheap and strong. I liked the Moscow Mule! 3) I don't think the "Pre-Sale Priority Admission" is worth it for an extra $10 a ticket unless there's a big headliner. If you come early, you're herded to a balcony area to wait, and you still might end up in the middle to back area when you're finally seated. The place is relatively small and no matter where you're seated, it will be a good view. 4 stars for a great night + 1 star for finding a lost wallet. (...Yes, my husband lost his wallet. It possibly fell on the floor near our table. It was about 12:30am when we called the Laugh Factory and they told us we could come back to pick it up, no problem. We attended a corporate holiday party at The Laugh Factory in Long Beach and totally had a blast! The comedians had my husband and I giggling and laughing the whole night and I even got pulled on stage by comedian Harry Basil which was hilarious! The event was fully catered and open bar so it was a full evening of food and fun. They had a special guest comedian, Paul Rodriguez, a true legend, which made the evening even more special. A friend of mine got VIP tickets for our group of six. First of all, I don't even know what you get with VIP because the service is AWFUL! The waitress forgot my husband's drink but made sure to come back around for us to get our two drink minimum (-_-) The waitress was incredibly rude and shoved the drink in his direction with a huff. The food is terrible and not worth the $$$. Save your money and eat before or after. I waited forever for my check and ID (if you are paying with a card, they will keep your card; if you are paying cash, they will keep your id). We were one of the last ones in the building because I was waiting. One comedian was hilarious (the stars I am giving are for him), the others were just ok... a couple chuckles here and there. I'm sure comedy is hit or miss but tonight wasn't great. I don't know if I would come back but if I do I would definitely avoid the food and maybe see the comedian list before I plan on going. read more

My family and I went to a late show last Saturday. Comics were a mix of really good to just ok. But the really good comic was FUNNY. Like every single one of his jokes were a hit. He's a local from long beach. Jesus trejo or something to that affect. He was a huge hit. Boo to their only serving chips and salsa or dip. We wanted the menu of food they presented. If your not selling it that day DON'T PASS IT OUT. I get it, it's a menu with drinks and food but it's a let down for sure. read more

Trash place. The first time we went was great we came 30 minutes early to wait in the general admission as it says to do on the ticket and we were about third in line for ga so we got seats in the second row. The second time we came we arrived 30 minutes early again and were fifth in line for ga. The girl seat us in the corner right behind the comedians' asses.. so I ask if we can move somewhere else since it's just two of us, the amount of people there isn't much and I don't wanna see the back of these peoples heads.. geez do I even gotta explain myself? Lol. And the girl tells me that general admission can't choose where they sit.. even though on the ticket it says you will choose your seat. The ticket said that if you come later then you might not have a seat that it's standing room only so I came early. But it says nothing about people telling you where you're going to be seated. So I spent $60 to end up with a neck cramp and a shitty night cause I couldn't see jack shit. It wasn't even a packed showing. Don't waste your time or money like I did. read more

What a waste of $80! We left early after fulfilling our 2 drink obligation. The MC started off rough. F word EVERY OTHER WORD! Really? If you think saying it 100 times makes you funnier....think again. One the comedians was difficult to understand as English was not his first language. Another was a Wanda Sikes wanna be. She mumbled her way through her set. There was only one comedian who was decent. Who the heck allowed these four to represent The Laugh Factory?? I came in for entertainment, almost fell asleep and was resentful I had to pay for drinks I didn't want. I will never waste my money again at the Laugh Factory!!! read more

The price to get in to the show was not bad, however they get you with the drinks. There is a 2 drink minimum per person and we got 4 total drinks. We got the same thing for all of them, a fruity cocktail. Our total at the end of the night for 4 small cocktails was just under $80. That is INSANE and I can't believe we paid that. Not worth the price at all. read more

Sucks that I have to give such a great spacious venue a shit review especially because the Hollywood location is like the size of a box and pretentious audience. The comics were good but the company as a whole doesn't understand comedy. After The Great Quar, comedians are itching to get a spot and I know the OC isn't a comedy demographic at all but try at at least to have 1 headliner that we've heard of. In conclusion, I wish the West Hollywood comedians would come out to a better venue at the Long Beach Laugh Factory. Very disappointed they don't promise the lineup you paid for. Whomp. This is a great place for date night or hanging out with friends. In my opinion, the drinks are a bit pricey but they are strong so you get your money's worth. They also have some "deals" you may want to take advantage of. For example, if you order the drink of the night you can get a complimentary ticket. Alternatively, if you get a bottle of wine, it covers the 2 drink minimum for 2 people. I would suggest looking at the comedians ahead of time and decide on a good date to go. If you have GA tickets I suggest arriving early for good seats:) read more

I went here for the 1st time for their new years eve show. Had an amazing time! The nite was full of big lols. Major props to all the comedians, security, and other workers who held it down and made the show a big hit. Almost all the comedians came with that fire! Way better than the Hollywood laugh factory who pack people in shoulder to shoulder, and have a piss poor management. Would highly recommend to those looking for a good laugh from a diverse group of comedians and will definitely be coming back. Only negative was my waitress but other than that major thumbs up! read more

Last minute "Let's Do Something" search. Easy to get electronic tickets. Be certain to either, be vaccinated or show proof of a negative test. The bouncer says so at the door and it is posted online, yet some folks still groaned out of the line. read more

First off ide like to say I never leave yelp reviews but this was literally THE WORST EXPERIENCE I've ever had with customer service. Me and my family who are visiting from the Middle East drove an hour to Long Beach just to see some comedy. A group of 8 of us came to the box office, bought tickets ($160 worth) and then got turned away at the door because my cousin had no id. Totally fine. We understand-no big deal. We will just get a refund from the box office that we literally just paid for about 2 minutes ago. Not only did they refuse to refund us tickets we paid for a minute ago, but these two managers (one of their names is Katrina) gave us horrible attitude, as if we were asking for something crazy. They had no class, extremely unprofessional. They were telling us they don't have a refund button---um no such thing! We paid cash!!! Easiest exchange in the world. And after a minute or two they refused to talk to us. They just walked away from us. How do you take $160 from people and just leave them at the door ?! You clearly do not care for toe customers. Bonus cherry on top: As my sister was trying to get one of them to reconsider, i came over to a couple to ask them to buy my ticket off me. Guys, I just wanted my money back. The other manager stepped in front of me and talked over me. I was just trying to get them to buy my ticket. She yelled at me as if I was the crazy one, saying she's the manager and she has the right to her business. What Are you talking about? You were inside the entire time! You came out to power trip. If you cared about your business you would treat customers like you care! Not like you are money hungry! Bottom line-entertainment is about hospitality and that doesn't exist here. They robbed us of $160 turned us away, literally shut the door in our face!!! A message to the managers-you both clearly do not know how to run a business. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELVES FROM THIS TRASHY PLACE! IF NOT FOR YOUR MONEY, AT LEAST FOR YOUR DIGNITY! TOOK OUR MONEY AND RUINED OUR NIGHT read more

We hit this place up last weekend after seeing a line up of five names (4 acts and 1 emcee) posted out front, and chose general admission (facing the possibility of standing room only, according to the ticket office employee) as opposed to reserved seating; it was recommended that we get in line outside of the venue by 9 for a 9:45 show. We got in line around 9:20 or so, behind a dozen people or so who had already lined up. Despite the line building behind us, only those who had reserved seating were allowed inside prior to 9:45, leaving the rest of us to wait outside. At 9:45, they finally dropped the rope and slowly started letting the majority of us in. We ended up getting pretty good seats anyway, as the place was 30% full at most (this should've been the first indicator). The quality of the acts they booked was pretty bad. Additionally, the list they had posted outside - and sold tickets for - was trimmed down to 3 acts and the emcee. The emcee was the only one who got more than a couple laughs out of the audience; the other three sucked. Drink orders were taken shortly after being sat, although the drinks themselves didn't actually arrive until the first act was finishing up. I made the mistake of ordering the drink of the night, and it arrived tasting like seltzer water and maybe vodka despite the description. Needless to say, no one wanted anything to do with it, and our waitress wasn't seen again until she came around for last call (top notch service, eh?). She noticed I hadn't touched the drink and inquired about it, so I told her it was pretty bad, to which she said "you should've said something and I would've had them remake it." I kinda laughed as I replied with "I would have, had we seen you since." She walked away. This place: - Garbage drinks - Bad service - Comedians that don't provoke laughter All four of us concluded it was a severe waste of time & money, so don't waste either of yours here! read more

Established in 2008.

The $10 million, 500-seat,12,000-square-foot venue is the largest comedy venue in the world. The Laugh Factory Long Beach held its Grand Opening on on September 20, 2008. The problem with that is that our waitress had to get flagged everytime! She never checked up on us. She attended to those that had reserved table seating. Very dissapointed on customer service. Overall the show was classy. Great choreography, vibing to some reggaeton music. No complaints about the show. We had fun! This place is the only Burlisque show that I know or aware of that is in the Long Beach area. Check the website to view the lineup. Category changes everytime. Great ambiance with clean restrooms. Parking will be on the street or timed parking structure. I would comeback. My experience only, yours might be better.

By the end of show my behind hurt, my knees hurt. It was just awful. This is also the first time in my many years of show going I saw (and heard) people leaving during intermission due the discomfort of the seats. One lady even screamed in the narrow passage way to I assume the rest of her party (MY KNEES CANT TAKE ANYMORE). Her husband then said yeah Im running her home and ill be back. This was my first time going to this theater so my first impressions were good at first. Staff seemed personable. We went to see August Wilson's Gem of the Ocean. I have never been to a theater in a U shape before. I have decided I dont care for it. There were so many times where I didnt know what was going on because the actors back was to me. I dont know if there was a kiss, a nose snuggle, who knows. My partner also point out that in one scene on our side we saw that one actor was rubbing anothers foot. This was how the piece came back from the dark. He pointed out that the folks on the other side had zero clue because they just saw her back. He also pointed out how much wasnt really used and the set could have been "pushed back" for better viewing and I agree. I also found it distracting for me to see the audience across, folks were laughing and speaking in times that didnt call for it and for someone like me who is ever observant it was a distraction. Final complaint the smoke machine was too much for me. It literally made me start coughing. The people I was with also said it got to them in other ways. The sound was good, lighting good. If I am invited back to a performance at this place as I was this time, I would have to see the run time of the piece. This piece went on for almost 3 hours and oh how could I forget started close to 20 minutes late! Just not cool man. As a first time goer it made me wonder if this is the norm for this theater and would have to keep that in mind as well.

I'm a stand-up Comedian and I've been here for the past two Open Mic Nights as a performer and had a very positive experience. 1. There is no 2 item minimum. You only pay $5 either as a performer or audience member. That is a bargain! 2. There are no more than 12 comedians performing in total. Each comedian has a 5 minute set. You'll be home in time to shower, go to sleep early, and wake up sober for work the next day! 3. Friendly and encouraging audience. No one will boo you or throw a bottle at you! If you are interested in taking classes in Improv/Comedy or would just like to be a supportive audience member, this is the place to be!

I just thought it would be fun, and it turned out to be so much more. Yes, it is fun! It is a beautiful escape from life's difficulties and filled with laughter, learning, and grace. Darren, Neil and the rest of the instructors and cast have created something very special here. Imagine a group of strangers from all walks of life coming together to create something magical. It is scary at first but the growth is quick and you are supported and encouraged so much more than you could imagine, not only by the instructors but that group of strangers who you bond with. Some of my biggest takeaways are to listen, (really listen), choose words wisely, and not to rush. This is not only true on the Held2gether stage but has carried over in my life. Give it a try, you won't regret it and you just may get hooked too. All are welcome and encouraged.

Gaslamp is a live music club in LBC that also serves food. We went on Fri night to celebrate a…read morebirthday. Knyght Ryder, an 80's hit band was playing. BTW, there is a $15 cover. We had a blast! The band had the crowd jumping. In addition, the place is big w/ lots of tables for large groups (there were ~ 15 in our party). The dance floor is spacious also, so it didn't get body to body. Lastly, the clientele are chill, and no one was looking to cause trouble unlike some places. Our waitress took excellent care of us (I forgot her name). But all the staff was cool. I ordered a few drinks from Yvette at the bar, and she was friendly & warm. The only downside is the food is pricey & average. That issue is easily resolved by eating beforehand (band starts @ ~ 9 pm). I only had snacks at Gaslamp to line my stomach for all the alcohol. I would definitely return to enjoy a fun night in a low key place. The cover is reasonable, and the service is very good.

Men's washroom was clean and had paper towels... good. I'm glad that the bartender who served me tucked his shirt in... looks professional. I was not able to understand what Whey Jennings said from the stage. Either he did not speak well or else that the acoustics were bad. If I was to assign a letter grade as is done in school, this establishment would be in there solid with a B.

The portions are small, the taste is bland and the quality is poor. It reminded me of elementary school cafeteria food. Ok, now that the bad is out of the way let's get to the good. The performers are finna as hell, they really do a good job and it's interactive. Is it worth the price, no it's not, I'd rather spend $73 a person on a decent meal somewhere else. This could be a great time but the food absolutely ruined it.

Delicious! Smoking area. Easy line of sight from most places in the room. Looks like they renovated the place in the past 3 years and added a lot more seating. Drink ledges and barstools now line all the walls. Thank God because a full night of standing on concrete can be hard on us elder punk rockers. The place feels divey but safe and not overpriced. Alex lands some big names too along with very unique DJ and trivia nights. Bartenders aren't stuck up.

I have tried multiple times to get into contact with Alex's Bar over disturbing behavior exhibited by one of their bar backs, and either they choose to ignore me or just do not care. When a place can't even answer their phone or respond to basic inquiry, it raises the question if they even care about their customers or just booking the next musical act to sell tickets.

This was my first visit to the Long Beach Terrace Theater to see Joe Satriani and Steve Vai touring…read moretogether as the SatchVai band. The venue has its own multi-story parking lot which is very easy to access, and only charges $15. We arrived thirty minutes before the show, and there was no line to enter the parking lot with many parking spaces available. After a very short walk across the garage and going up a one-story staircase (there is also an elevator), we were on the ground level with the theater. Unfortunately, you have to walk all the way around the large fountain area to reach the security checkpoint and entrance. There was no line and we passed through quickly. Luckily, after the show, you could walk directly to the garage without having to go around again. The theater seats around 3,000 people and has floor, loge, and balcony sections. It is very clean and has a modern feel. The main lobby is spacious and has high ceilings. There are bars on all levels, and some basic food items downstairs. There were also a few food and drink spots in front outside. The concert hall has very high ceilings and is also very modern. We sat on the floor in the second row. The seats were padded and comfortable, and the spacing between adjacent seats and between rows was good. The view of the performers was amazing. There was a large projection screen behind the stage, with various video playing throughout the show. There was some fog on the stage, and the lighting was good, but nothing exceptional. Sitting so close is great for pictures and videos, and you're oblivious to the other 2,900 people in the theater. It almost feels like you're getting a private performance. However, the sound can be hit or miss depending on the performers' preferences and venue's audio setup. The main speaker arrays here hang directly over the first few rows in front of the stage. For the opening band, we couldn't hear any of the guitars at all. Joe played almost completely through his on-stage amps only and the sound was perfect. Steve's mix was half through his amps and half through the main speaker arrays. We could hear his guitar, but not nearly as well as Joe's. It's not the venues fault, the sound is usually optimized for the majority of the theater, and the first few rows may suffer. The opening band was Animals As Leaders. I've seen them a few times over the years as an opener for Steve Vai. They are an instrumental guitar focused band with the unique characteristic that both guitarists use eight-string guitars which gives them a unique sound. Joe Satriani and Steve Vai started out the main show together. They are two of the greatest rock guitar legends to ever play. They played a few original songs together that they co-wrote, followed by both individual and joint performances of a dozen of their popular songs. Steve's unique three-neck Hydra guitar made an appearance. There was also an encore with cover versions of Rock and Roll and Born to be Wild. I've seen Joe 25 times and Steve seven times, and I'll continue to go to every show when they are in town. In between the opening band and the main show, we immediately went to use the ground level restrooms which are downstairs. The lines were already extremely long. On a whim, we went upstairs and the restrooms on both sides initially had very short lines. After only five minutes, the upstairs lines also started to get long. Go upstairs fast and you should have a much shorter wait. The show was great and I really liked the venue. It's modern, clean, and comfortable, with various amenities. The sound mix was a mixed bag sitting in front, but it wasn't the venue's fault. If you want the best chance of a good sound mix, don't sit up front. Parking was very convenient and very affordable. I would definitely come see a show here again. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5.

The thing that stood out was the nice courtyard decor of water fountains. The vibe radiated as the fountains were sparkling, giving the ambiance of a fresh cool entertainment settimg. The outside really looks cool at night because of the lighting structure. I have been here many times before. Experiencing both indoor and outdoor venue entertainment. Just to name a few.. Jokoy, air supply, 90s old school R&B funk jam , Franki Valli and the list goes on. Its not very big inside, in comparison to Crypto or the inglewood forum but it does its job. Stadium seating could use some work if they decide to remodel in the future. Its a clean place with great acoustics. The only negative thing I have to say is the sale of alcoholic beverages! The venue shuts down completely early. Like 9pmsh! Unacceptable for an entertainment venue. I recommend watching concerts or any type of events in this area. Plenty of parking in the parking structure and surrounding businesses nearby. Long Beach is beautiful.

I got a little taste of the spicy fried rice, which was really good. Some of us ordered Thai tea and didn't expect what we received, which was the tea with a Thai tea popsicle. What a treat! The Thai tea itself was pretty standard, but that popsicle was like the icing on a cake. The places, modern and clean. Staff is helpful and nice. Parking is their own lot but can be difficult to get a spot on a busy day or night.
