Laughing Buddha has been wonderful for so many reasons! I first went a few months ago to get a shorter post for one of my ear piercings and to purchase a new nose ring. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. In December I got my nipples pierced and Colin was very professional, friendly, efficient and did an excellent job. Unfortunately I tore one of my nipple piercings and was able to get in same day with Colin who helped me feel better about the healing process and even the potential to re-pierce after healing. Not a dependable place. After months of waiting for a certain tattoo and a certain earring I'd put on hold. Neither happened

I got a nose piercing with Lil John about 3 weeks ago. After the first week I called Laughing Buddha because I could no longer feel my nose ring inside of my nose. The woman at the front desk said it was too early for there to be any issues with the piercing being grown over and what I was experiencing was normal. She said there was no reason to come in and I should wait it out. A week and a half later my nose ring started sticking out far from my nose and couldn't be pushed back in. I went online and made an appointment for Lil John to check on it. When I got to my appointment today the same woman at the front desk asked me about my concern. When I told her my ring was sticking out she asked me no other question but went on a long spiel basically trying to discourage me from seeing Lil John (an appointment I'd already paid a fee to make). She said it was too early for my jewelry to be switched out, which wasn't what I was asking to be done. She said the only thing I could do is push it in on my own. I told her I already tried that and it wasn't moving. She then told me I had to just deal with it until it's completely healed. I told her I couldn't feel the part of the ring inside of my nose. She then went on to say it was just healing. I continued to push back and eventually told her I needed the piercer (WHO I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH AND PAID A FEE TO SEE) to push the ring in. She then said I could do that on my own, and I once again told her I'd been trying and it wasn't working. She finally pointed me to the QR code so I could fill out paperwork to see Lil John. After seeing Lil John he informed me he also couldn't feel the back of my piercing. He was unable to push it back through bc it had been like that too long. Now I have to go to my doctor to have it surgically removed. I can't say yet if this is a piercer issue, but I know for a fact the front desk woman (who I'm now assuming isn't an actual piercer) shouldn't have taken it upon herself to advise when she's not a qualified expert looking at someone's piercing. She positioned herself as an expert and told me to wait so I waited and now look what happened. Had I not pushed for her to honor my appointment with Lil John today I would STILL have an unresolved issue growing worst and worst. This is negligent on Laughing Buddha's part. Only qualified experts should ever advise people around post piercing issues. It's easier and safer to just say, "make an after care appointment with the piercer". Instead this person went out of their way to advise (as if they were a qualified expert), told me to wait, and now it's too late to correct an issue that could have been corrected if caught earlier. Lil John also told me he would be able to place a new metal piece in my nose if I came right after having the doctor cut it out. I've now called multiple piercing places and none of them recommend that. The employees there are a huge liability. I won't be recommending them or returning. I will update this post after I speak with my doctor on what will need to happen next....and what may have caused this issue. read more

I had an amazing experience at laughing Buddha. Obviously during this time with covid 19, safety precautions are needed for all stores, restaurants, services etc. laughing Buddha exceeds all expectations of safety protocol. Temp check, covid questionnaire, hand sanitizer available, mask, and a cool phone disinfectant. I felt very safe walking into their shop. The shop it's self is clean, sleek and had a professional look. My tattoo artist ,Erin, was amazing. Erin did a great job describing the procedure and working with me to make sure my tattoo was the way I wanted. Even though my tattoo was small and took less than 20 min, I could tell Erin was putting a lot of effort and care into it. I felt comfortable and taken care of. If I ever decide to get another tattoo I will make sure to schedule with Erin again. Overall I 100% recommend laughing Buddha. read more

Customer service is nice but they don't give you what you really need- a time table. I bought a post for my piercing 2 days ago and it didn't fit, they told me to come back and exchange it to a size that fits. Go and sign the paperwork and wait for 45 mins before asking how much longer it would be - the counter girl said he was just about to take another piercing back.... it's Sunday. It's slow. Tell me I'll be waiting for 1+ hour to get a post switched out...people have shit they gotta do. read more

Had a consultation with Shain 3 weeks ago for a tattoo. Presented a design to him which he told me would be no problem to tattoo. He directed me to make an online appointment in two weeks. I came in for my appointment on 10/13 and he stated he didn't feel comfortable tattooing my design because he decided that my picture I had submitted to him online was too blurry. He had 2 weeks to ask me to submit an alternate picture or to find a better image online. Instead he wasted 2 weeks of my time, promising he could tattoo my design and then changed his mind. I was also never refunded my consultation fee of $10. I emailed laughing Buddha to resolve this before I complained publicly, but was ignored. Consequently, I presented my same design to another tattoo parlor as a walk in and had no problems getting it tattooed right there and then, so I know the problem wasn't my design. read more

I can't comment on the shop in regards to tattoos, but I had an incredibly pleasant piercing experience at the shop. They pay close attention to cleanliness and are almost redundant with sterilizing their equipment. They use this nifty little indicator to prove to the customer that their equipment was sterilized which I really appreciate. In regards to piercing, the staff who checked us in was knowledgeable on the topic and was able to answer our questions about jewelry. The piercer, lil John, was pleasant to interact with, answered all questions, and made sure we felt comfortable in the studio. He did my septum today and I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. With an appointment we were in and out in maybe less than 45 minutes for a septum and a single lobe piercing, but even though it was quick lil John did the job right and didn't cut corners. I got a beautiful conch piercing today by Lil John. He made sure I liked the placement before piercing me, and it didn't hurt at all. I was a little worried I would be judged for my shoddy Claire's piercings, but everyone from the receptionist to the piercer was so welcoming and kind. Their COVID precautions made me feel very safe. This was the second piercing shop I've ever been to in Seattle. Claire's doesn't count. I got my helix pierced here. Not a lot of earring options, but good enough to start with. They can also do custom jewelry. I'm not sure how long or how pricey that is though. I didn't have an appointment. There were some people waiting in line ahead of me. I was in and out in 40 minutes. Colin, who did my piercing, was very nice. He talked fast, but he did answer all my questions. It was a little painful, but the whole process was very quick. No blood. I loved the decor. Very minimalistic and bright. Convenient location. I took the bus. Not sure about parking situation. I'm considering another piercing. Will definitely be back to get it done here! read more

I received my first ever lobe piercing in May 2019 by Colin. He did a great job. During that visit, I also custom-ordered an earring in the shape of a numeral/number one. I provided them with a print-out with two fonts and sizes that were acceptable to me. The earring arrived during the third week of August so I made an appointment once again with Colin for 29 August. When I arrived I was once again greeted by friendly staff. When the guy at the front desk retrieved the earring and brought it out, I couldn't even see it in the clear baggie (and he admitted he had difficulty seeing it too when he looked for it in the baggie). I decided to give the situation a few days to see if people could tell what the earring is after it was put in. During the visit, Colin took the earring I had in my lobe to use in a helix piercing that day and the custom earring was put in the lobe. The procedure went just fine. But after wearing the custom earring for the past five days and having to tell people what the earring is because it's so small they can't tell what it is, I have to say I'm unhappy, especially knowing how much I paid for it (over $200.00). I feel I've wasted money by custom-ordering it and I guess I'll be on the hunt for an earring that is large enough to see. I'm very bummed and disappointed. My first review of this establishment in May 2019 was five stars, but sadly after my visit last week, I'll need to give it only three stars. read more

I went to "Laughing Buddha Tattoo and Piercing" last night (January 08th, 2012). I went with my younger sister, we each got a tattoo, and she got a piercing. Let me say that the staff is the most welcoming and knowledgeable bunch I have ever encountered in a parlor thus far. Everyone knows what they are talking about, and are full of helpful suggestions to make your modifications as satisfactory as possible. The pricing is fantastic. I couldn't have gotten a better quote and a final price. My tattoo was a portrait of "Kyo" from Dir En Grey, and it had a lot of personal meaning to me... We all know portraits are really scary to get tattooed. That shit is permanent. You never know if your tattoo is going to look like the person you hoped for or a slice of bacon. Well let me say, I got my tattoo done by their artist JOHN C. (the guys with the badass dreads) IT LOOKED EXACTLY like the picture. He was so friendly and accommodating. He did a better job than any I could have imagined. I am so impressed that I am going to schedule more tattoos with him for next week. I HIGHLY recommend anyone schedule an appointment with him. Arranged a virtual appointment and had a great conversation. I went in on Monday a bit apprehensive because of the unknown. The place was sparkling and all the covid stuff was being followed. My friend referred me after I asked her where she got her cute small hoops. I came in the next day (Saturday Dec. 7th) excited to swap out my tragus earring for a gold hoop but was quickly disappointed by the service. I walked in the door and there was a dad and his daughter finishing up a payment with a employee that was tall, white, skinny and had longish dark hair (not sure of their name). The dad asked a question (not sure what it was) and the employee continued to shake their head in disgust in from of me as the dad and daughter left. The dad honestly looked like he made some sort of dad joke, he looked like a nice guy so I'm not sure why he deserved that after I'm sure he paid a pretty penny for his daughters piercing. The employee told me to come forward. I stood there without the employee acknowledging me as they continued to shake their head and put away a receipt. The employee then asked me what they could help me with in a rude tone. I said I was looking for hoop options to replace my tragus and they said they needed to go in the back and get it. The employee brought out 1 silver hoop even though there are more options. I asked to see a gold hoop so the employee went to the back again to bring out a gold hoop. I asked how much and the employee continues to say $55-$65 for the gold hoop which I was confused by because they only showed me one gold hoop.... so what was the price? I said I wanted to think on it and put it up to my ear. At the place I got it pierced they actually held the jewelry up to my ear using tweezers or something which was nice so I could see what it looked like. I had to hold a bag up to my ear because the employee didn't want to help me and I didn't feel comfortable taking it out of the packaging. I ended up leaving and not buying anything. Honestly, super disappointing experience and it put me in a bad mood. I don't think I'll be back because I wouldn't want to get stuck with that employee again. One positive note, the other gal that was working was super sweet and asked me how my weekend was. I wish she could have helped me instead. Hopefully the other employee was just having a bad day but if you have that kind of attitude dealing with people you shouldn't be in customer service. read more

This review is for Kyle. I couldn't be happier with my experience with him from start to finish. It started with a virtual consult where he was able to answer all of my questions. He's very nice and easy to talk to, but also very professional at the same time. When I finally came in for the appointment, he was super patient to get the stencil in the perfect position--never felt like he was rushing to get it done. I am very particular with how things are yet he had an even closer eye with making sure it was absolutely correct. From there the actual procedure went super smoothly. He has a gentle touch with the needle and I barely felt any discomfort. He has a talent for doing very crisp, straight lines that my piece required. I came to Laughing Buddha to get my first "larger" piece done. I'd been playing around with and idea for the past few years, but was just unsure of how to explain or make it happen. Insert Chad. I have nothing but positive things to say about Chad. I had a rough outline and Chad was able to take that idea and outline, add his personal touches (pedals for teeth = FIRE!!) and come up with an incredible piece of art. Chad was incredibly laid back and easy to work with, but takes his work very serious. We had a pre-established time frame for the piece, but with the level of detail he puts in, we went passed it, this is not a negative at all. What I am trying to say is this just goes to show his commitments and the amount of pride he takes in his work. You really get a sense of his passion while working with him and his work is a direct reflection of someone that loves what they do and are passionate about it. Probably one of the sickest dudes I've met. We were able to talk about everything and nothing was off the table, which just added to the experience. The shop came highly recommended from family and I'd have to agree with them, Laughing Buddha is top notch. VERY CARING artist that work here. I talked with Colin O on the phone for at least 30 minutes talking about my piercing done and rapidly discovered this establishment was going to be the professional, sterile place I wanted to visit for my procedure. Once it was time, Colin walked me through every step; what he was cleaning, how he was making the measurements, what devices he was inserting, and precisely the magnitude and variation of pain that was about to commence. The room for my piercing was cleaner than my doc's office and Colin was tidy and properly protected with gloves, mask, etc. Also to be noted; their online reservation system is faultless and made my arrival trouble free. I'm very happy with my PA jewelry and not in terrible discomfort as I type this; thanks to the skill of Laughing Buddha. It was worth the 300 mile drive from Spokane. Great experience overall. Walked in mid Saturday to get a third ear piecing. There was about a 15 minute wait but they told me that when I first walked in. During that time, I picked out the earrings that I wanted and asked a few questions. The process was super easy. I signed some paper work and a couple minutes later I was in a room with the artist. The piercing was almost painless and Lil John did a wonderful job with breathing techniques to make the piercing quick and effortless. I was in and out within 30 minutes! I have watched my friends go to other places that were not as clean, friendly or welcoming. I would definitely recommend Laughing Buddha to anyone getting a piercing. I had a great experience here getting my nose pierced! They were very friendly and knew what they were talking about when you would ask questions. I heard that most places sometimes are short with you and sort of do what they please but that was not the case with Laughing Buddha! Some general things you might want to know: They except walk ins For a nose piercing it is roughly 74 dollars but that includes the type of stud you get and a 30 dollar service fee for the actual piercing. It was very clean in there and the younger girl that helped with figuring out which stud to get was very nice and patient! The actual piercing room is across from their main store and it was clean but very warm and stuffy! Overall, great place for piercings! read more

I went to Laughing Buddha today to get my first tattoo. I had the pleasure of getting my tattoo from BreAna who was an absolute pleasure to hang out with. She is committed to quality as well as safety. When I arrived, I commented that I had only a small piece of cake four hours ago. She stopped the preparation and asked me to grab a meal and then come right back where she would be waiting. I did so and we picked up where we left off. Her actions show that she is committed to making sure that customers are safe and are appropriately prepared for the process. Her instructions were clear and she encouraged me to speak up if I was uncomfortable (which I did not experience). For anybody considering a tattoo, I would highly recommend BreAna! read more

Got a cartalige piercing and the experience was great. they are super clean and diligent with sterilizing. I'm sure their process puts parents at ease. The pricing on the website isn't super helpful. basically, I got one piercing with the least expensive ring, standard surgical steal (not sure if studs are cheaper). I believe the ring was quoted at $18 and when I went up to pay my total was $50 before tip. So the price for piercing was about $30 for the cartalige. The website doesn't tell the standard prices for their jewelry! I know they sell more higher end stuff, but it would have been really helpful to have standard pricing for jewelry listed on the website. that's really my only conplaint. getting piercings done at tattoo places is expensive and I found it kinda annoying that I had to actually call then to ask what their pricing was. read more

I've been to Laughing Buddha twice, once for the initial tattoo and then again for the touch up. The staff are always so friendly and accommodating when I go. My appointments were with Thomas, and he always made sure that I was comfortable and relaxed during my session with my choice of Netflix shows which helped my nervous stomach a lot. I have a tendency to get light headed during tattoos and he was so patient in giving me the breaks I needed to recover and checking in the whole time to make sure I was okay.
