We went to shell shack a few months ago and spent $250 on pure crap and kinda swore off restaurant seafood boils but decided to dine here today. I totally have no clue why the laughing crab has 2 1/2 stars. We tried their boil with the "all" flavor which is a mixture of all of their flavors and it was amazing! Great Service and atmosphere. Food was ok. My son got the crawfish boil and crawfish was in season but did not taste fresh. Clam chowder was made in the kitchen but really needs a better recipe. Coleslaw was ok. Calamari was ok, Crab cakes were a big disappointment. I was forewarned by the server that they are deep-fried, just didn't expect them to be from the grocery store freezer section. Hands down very yummy seafood - ask for the steamed bag ----delicious lobster, crab and shrimp with boiled eggs - I recommend steaming it all with nothing in it and then have garlic butter on the side or your Cajun on the side - drinks are weak but so far very good - services was ok but each time we have been there - workers seem bored or lack customer services - busy and slow times we have been there - haven't seen the same server working there anymore - over all really good and always crave for more read more

First of all, the food was very fresh. The ambience needs a de clutter upgrade. I hate seeing boxes of supplies, cups, napkins, to go items. Stacked up all around the bar area. The service was friendly but they don't know their menus , ingredients, etc. we might give it another shot. It was a huge turn off to see the wait staff sitting at the bar eating their outside fast food, playing on their phones and vaping. Seems like they need a better manager to train and educate the staff. Oysters on the half-shell were some of the best I've had in a while! My wife ordered the fried shrimp basket and the breading was honestly too much. You couldn't really taste the shrimp. I ordered the 1# shrimp with Cajun seasoning and made them Hot for the spice. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and very tasty. As for the sausage, I wasn't impressed and corn was just okay. I would give -5 if I could. Horrible, horrible Food. Crab so old and overcooked it didn't crack at all and just bent. Calamari like trying to chew a Rubber Band and a Floor Manager that tried to say it's supposed to be that way. I guess Boiled Eggs are supposed to BLACK too! Our Party of 10 included a 1 month old Baby that triggered their automatic tipping. When the Waitress realized we didn't like the Food, she wouldn't come back. We stayed, paid and attempted to eat this swill because the People with the new Baby drove over 60 Miles to visit and show off the Baby. It was too difficult to get everybody up, out and to somewhere else with limited time to visit. I will NEVER return to this place and will tell everyone I know how horrible it was. Not gonna lie, was not expecting the food I got. The service was great even though we had kids with us who like to make messes. The prices weren't bad at all and THE FOOD was spectacular. As a former Louisianan, this place did not do a good job on the boiled crawfish. They were very bland and came with an additional sauce. On top of not being spicy, the sauce goes against traditional boiled crawfish experience. I would say the other food is better however. read more

Ate here for the first time a few months ago and was really surprised. Like the idea of choosing the steaming flavor(Old Bay) for the crawfish. Also had steamed shrimp which were perfectly steamed and seasoned. Our waiter was great explaining the menu and portions they offered. Decor is very ocean/beach vibe and large tables allow for probably 8 people to sit at a picnic style table and be served. We are back in town and plan to eat there this trip for sure! read more

On December 11th we paid 153$ for the seafood deluxe for my mom's birthday. We ordered the same meal back in August for my birthday an it was amazing! However on December 11th, everything was overcooked!! The only thing edible were the potatoes. My mom was so disappointed I tried to take it back, and they wouldn't let me nor exchange the food. I asked for a partial refund an they said they couldn't take a loss. Really? So because your employees overcooked the food my family has to go hungry an loose over 150$? Me and my wife came here and got the honey bbq wings. Let's just say lll never come here again. The wings were frozen and they just put honey bbq sauce over them. I would not recommend this place. I ordered the catfish basket and my wife ordered the 1/2 shrimp combo special. Everything was over cooked and the catfish was mostly fried bread with very little fish and very dry. The shrimp was over cooked and rubbery. Let's just start by saying Lisa the waitress was rude as hell. Came with a party of 7 from the beginning Lisa was very rude she acted like she didn't want to take our order as if she didn't want to be there she forgot to bring one of our drinks. She gave us the ticket it was a whole dispute about a percentage for she couldn't even explain it then tried to get a attitude about it. We definitely want be back I live in Dallas and we have way more better service than that thanks for the manager she has great customer service. Lisa should be working in a isolated place by herself working in public is not for her. This situation almost turned into her getting her damn ass kicked.
