GREAT experience here. Had just got done with a day of skiing and came over for lunch and a couple beers with the family. Honestly had zero complaints at all. Great food, hospitality, restaurant, and beer. I ordered a flight off of the drink menu and I ended up just ordering all four of their ciders since I was very interested in the flavors. My favorites were the Bluebird and huckleberry but all four were great. I also got the PBJ burger which was one of the most unique burgers I've ever had and also one of the best. It has a super interesting dynamic with the peanut butter and jalapeno jam. I didn't have any beer myself but everyone in my family loved their pecan porter, so order that for sure. I wasn't able to see the entire brewery but it looks really cool from the inside. Definitely come here. read more

A local favorite for our friends and it did not disappoint, variety of house crafted beers served cold by a very friendly helpful staff. Great atmosphere with plenty of TV's to enjoy baseball and the Olympics. Great selection of food, we started with the pretzel and beer cheese sauce. All our entrees came out hot and were delizioso. Laughing Dog Brewing was the last brewery I went to in the Sandpoint area. We had the Pilsner here. It was fairly solid. Perhaps not my most favorite beer for this area but enjoyable enough for sure. This pilsner was like many with it's lightness, bitterness and hops with a nice, clean finish. Summit Cider products were also here so I am guessing not only is this a brewery facility and talroom but a cidery as well. We had the dry hopped cider. With a nice flavor dose of hops this cider also was crisp and had a nice finish. Overall a pleasant brewery and cidery experience! read more

Visited yesterday and we caught them towards the tail end of closing. Food and beer were so good I left with purchasing some merch! We ordered a flight and I got the pulled pork sandwich, both the beer and sandwich were awesome. The variety of IPAs Laughing Dog has is really nice to see, because they are my favorite. This place has a huge game room with a pool table, skee-ball, and all sorts of others. The outdoor area is pretty sweet too with cornhole and lots of area for lounging. read more

The Traveler, The Pork Sliders, The El Queso Dog, and the Korean Chicken Sandwich are all fantastic!! The House Hot and Korean Honey Butter wings were out of this world! Top notch food! As good as it gets when it comes to breweries! We're in town for a ski trip and decided to stop by Laughing Dog - highly recommend if you are anywhere in the Sandpoint area. This is probably the most prolific northern Idaho brewery that is out there. Their tasting room offers flights of four or eight. If you choose four then you also get a pint of your Favourite of the 4. We were traveling, so I unfortunately forgot my growler. Don't forget your growler. Repeat don't forget your growler. The wings were remarkable, although there were only 5 so order 2. Old lady like the huckleberry creme, my fav was the rocket dog eye IPA. Also, if you work out, order a size larger on the shirts. This is a cozy but spacious brewery. Taylor was our friendly beertender. Upon arriving we soon realized that Summit Cider was also available. We settled on doing an 8 flight and a 4 flight that included a pint. Both were $10 each. The ciders ranged from mesium to dry. All good and liked the blue balls berry and the sundance hibiscus out of the ciders. Tried 2 seltzers. The blood orange had the best flavor and the raspberry really didn't show the flavors, only the color. Also tried the huckleberry cream ale which showcased the huckleberry quite well. Last on my flight was the pecan porter. Rich complex and full of nutty pecans. My bf had a flight of IPA's. All were great and full of good hopiness. One of the worst experiences I have had in a brewery and food service establishment. There were only 2 couples in there besides us. There was no service. We came in to get some food and beer and bought my daughter and her fiancé as we bragged about how much we enjoyed the brewery. We thought they might be able to get nonalcoholic beer but no. They are on a special diet so I thought it would be ok for them to bring a small organic gluten free tiny roll that they were going to split while we ate and had a couple of beers. They asked for a knife from the bartender as we had to wait on ourselves. All of the sudden it was complete madness. A women comes out of the back and gave us a total dirty look and tells the bartender to tell us no outside food allowed. It proceeded to get worse. Bottom line is we won't be back. Holy Crap!!!! This place may be may favorite of 2018. Mainly because I like good beer. This Place makes amazing Beers. The Rocket Rye was my absolute favorite. The Pecan Porter blew me away with the flavor. The Alpha Dog IPA was so good that I couldn't get enough. They offer a few selections of snacks although I only tried the popcorn. We met Chris and he explained the beers. He was spot on with his descriptions. The place is wide open with a few TV's and your dogs are welcomed here which I thought was super cool. Besides the taps, They offer their beer in cans which I was reluctant to accept but did. I love the beer that they brew here whether it is on tap or from a can. I will miss the folks here and the beer too. Laughing Dog is tucked back off the main road in town but, is worth the search. If you like dogs,good beer and people too this place is for you. An amazing place! Was just passing through town and stopped in and instantly felt welcomed and was treated better then could be expected by the beertenders and other customers. Everyone seems like a big family and in the short time I was there felt included. Amazing atmosphere, great beer and great food! The Huckleberry Ale had a lot of hype and it delivered! This Brewhouse is responsible for the modern popularization of hop forward American style IPAs, the barrel-aged dogfather is a hoppy malt bomb that is worth the drive to Sandpoint for the beer fresh off the tap. I wish I could figure out HOW the brewers have achieved a decent huckleberry flavor profile for the mild and light cream ale. I've tried to make it at home and can seem to keep the huckleberry flavor from fermenting out. Alpha dog tastes exactly how it sounds. It stands on its own :) The pecan porter is wildly pungent of pecan flavor, almost pie like. It's sweet and sticky. They've got bar snacks and some plates of food for anyone that's hungry. If you have a unsettled startle response be advised this place is dog friendly and dogs like to bark no real reason. I'm not a fan of dogs & beers but this place has it figured out. The interior is ski lodge with great lighting and wood burning fireplace. It's homey. read more

My wife and I have been there a half dozen times, mainly when we're in the sand point area. Always enjoyed it. However this last visit was a 180 of what we've previously expected. After taking some visiting family members for a day at sand point we decided to visit the brewery. They both have food restrictions to no dairy and gluten so they picked something up in sand point that met their needs. When we arrived, the place was pretty empty. I ordered our drinks and food and sat down. When I brought our beers over , the bartenders dog who was tied to the leg of our table wanted to come closer to us spilling half our beers. The bartender saw it and said nothing, like can I refill your beers, nothing. So we moved to another table. When our food arrived we were told outside food can't be eaten inside and to go outside, so they did. All under the unapproved eyes of the owner. Shortly she sent one of her cronies outside to tell them they can't eat their food here period. So we finished up with our drinks food and this place. I won't be back. There's absolutely nothing to bring me back. Plenty of good breweries closer to where I live anyway with better food and beer and no attitude. I can see the food thing. They could of handled it much better. But the combo of our beers being spilt and the attitude sealed the deal for us. read more

We stopped here on our way through town with our brand new 8 week old puppy. It was so great to find a place to stop on the road trip that's dog friendly. They were just opening for the day so it was nice and quiet. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the beers were excellent. I'm a big fan of saisons, sours and farmhouse ales so I was really happy to see they have some offered on tap. I really liked the peach sour. Also grabbed a pint of the huckleberry cream, which I've had in cans back in Seattle but fresh from the tap, it's undeniably delicious. I wish we had a place like this where we live! read more

We always have SO much fun here on our way up to the Mountain. They supply the most amazing dog bowl full of their own random snack mix including pretzels, cheese puffs, bugles, Doritos, who knows what else and it goes SO well with their beer. My BF and I are big fans of the PURE BRED IPA and always pick up a growler while we're there. It's really fun to bring the dogs in and they love hanging out with the other canine patrons. This is the ONLY indoor bar I've ever been in with my dog and it's fantastic!! read more

We got to tour the brewery because we went on a saturday. Apparently they only do tours on the weekend. Our guide was very friendly and patient as we asked a bunch of questions. We got a sampler. 8 beers for $5! Total steal! They have about 4 IPA's. One of the hoppiest IPA's. 127 IBU's. Alpha dog. 8 1/2%. Hoppy goodness! I really liked the pale ale and the cream ale as well. They have some pretzels and chips at the bar to snack on but no kitchen cooking up food. Dogs are welcome in the brewery. Check this spot out! They know beer! read more

If you happen to be driving on 95, just north of Sandpoint, perhaps on your way to or from Bonner's Ferry (we were heading north, taking the scenic route to Kalispell, MT) and fancy a nice beer, Laughing Dog Brewing is an essential stop. There were so many good options, I had my first ever beer flight (though it was called a "sample platter"). Being my first, I don't know if this is the usual thing, but each of the 8 beers were arranged from light to heavy, the perfect way to move along the beer spectrum. I should point out that the flight is no longer the very reasonable $5 (as mentioned in other reviews), it's now $7 (which still is not bad). I enjoyed all the beers (favs were the Huckleberry Cream Ale and the DogZilla Black IPA), and would have liked to linger, but alas the road is calling. LDB is just a short drive north of Sandpoint, and I would say it is most definitely worth making it. There's plenty of seating with a very comfy vibe. Snacks are free, if you don't mind eating out of a dog bowl. I do wish there was something a bit more substantial served in he way of food, as we really did stop for lunch. Now I don't mind a good beer for lunch, but since Thuy does not drink, it did not have much to offer for her. PS. Growlers to go too! read more

This place is great! We came here on the recommendation of a friend who said that the huckleberry cream beer was great.. We come to Washington/Idaho a couple of times a year so I've been wanting to explore some of the cool breweries out on this side of the country. When we stopped by it was after a couple hours of wandering around Sandpoint after a bit of a drive on a Wednesday evening. We were delighted when we pulled up and saw a couple patrons with dogs. Turns out you're welcome to bring your doggy inside! Once inside we quickly made friends with a beautiful retriever named Penny as we eyed the menu, and we were acknowledged by the gentleman on staff as soon as we sat down at the bar. They have a pretty big menu for beers on draft, so after a little deliberation we settled on the Huckleberry Cream and the Summer Hefe. Both were delicious! The Huckleberry was light and sweet, very little "beer" taste to it and the Summer Hefe was very, very citrusy and light. I'm a light beer lover mostly, If you prefer darker brews though, the had plenty available to pick from. It was very quiet when we visited, but the place was very cool, I'd definitely say it's worth a quick trip in! read more
