Yes, it is in a strip mall in Kirkland. But don't let that deter you from going. The most wonderful thing about laughs is how accessible it is and how easy it is to find and the abundance of parking. Laughs is what a comedy club should be. Casual, cool and friendly. The drinks are strong, the comedians are funny and the staff is friendly, fast and efficient! Lots of funny local talent is featured before the main act. And I LOVE that they have Jello Shots.. which for me just adds to the fun. Wonderful setup, every single seat gives you a wonderful and comfortable view of the stage. The tables are very small, so don't order too much to eat and don't bring a "ginormous" purse with you. (The food is "just okay".. but hey, it's a comedy club.. you go for the laughs.. not the cuisine.. if the food were tastier I'd definitely give 5 stars!) This is definitely my go-to comedy club for a casual night out with friends or my sweetie. Not the IDEAL place for a comedy show...strip mall in Totem Lake but according to the millions of flyers in the club..have some really good comedians that show up...saw Greg Behrendt..Hilarious!! You have to purchase two menu items for the show which is alright but kinda pricey...Will def. be going back for some of upcoming acts throughout the year...doesn't look like much on the outside but they clean up pretty good on the inside...if its pretty popular comedian..make sure you get there early for the show..We had great seats right in the middle but felt bad for the people sitting in the back.. We went on a Saturday night and it was aweseome. We had a Groupon, essentially giving us $30 free food. I was surprised at how good the food was, and it wasn't a rip off either. The portions were decent compared to the price. The main act was amazing. My husband said that when he went the last time, the comedian was also great so I have to believe that they usually have some good acts. Our server wasn't very good. I absolutely love Laughs Comedy Spot! I have been here lots of times, and keep coming back! They always book really great comedians. The staff is friendly. Tickets and food/drinks are reasonably priced, but they also put out deals on Groupon and Living Social all the time, so keep an eye out for those to make the price even better! This is a great place for a date, or a night out with a group of friends. The space itself is on the smaller, more intimate side, which is great for comedy. There's really not a bad seat in the house. The wait staff always does a great job. Food is good, nothing special (basically a step up from bar food). Drinks are pretty good too! Service: 4 stars - the gal we had as really nice and she helped us pick out a bottle of wine when the one we originally selected was out. However she did forget a couple times to bring back our friends beers... Food: 1 star and that is being generous. Ordered the baked brie which was a tiny slice of cheese, half of an apple and some grapes with some cold toasted bread. Then we tried the spinach dip because the brie wasnt enough even for a snack so how bad can some spinach dip be? Well again it was like it was microwaved and then they through on some stale tortilla chips....My friend who ordered the chicken caesar said the chicken was like the pre-packaged kind you get from costco... This place is alright... The comedians were ok. The food was gross, wouldn't recommend you order food unless you're starving. We were served water in a plastic cup..lol what? Yea. Do not go see Thai Rivera. His whole performance was basically him talking about how people nowadays get offended so easily. In the middle of his performance, I took my phone out and was going to snapchat a picture of him. But what he did was he stopped talking, turned to me and said, "Are you recording?" I said, "snapchat!" And he said, "don't." He made this big seen saying he doesn't like to be recorded because some of his jokes might get cut off and people might get "offended" if his joke is about race or something. Or maybe your jokes just aren't funny and they really are just you making fun of hobos and feminism. Leave em alone damn. Lol I was laughing after the show because this whole time he was judging our new society about people getting offended so easily and he ended up doing the same thing in front of a crowd just because I was trying to snap a photo, lmfao. I'd never even heard of this place until I got a LivingSocial - $30something for two tickets + $40 worth of food and drink. Figuring it would be a good deal, I bought it, and my boyfriend and I tried the place out this past Friday. It's in a part of Totem Lake I didn't even know existed - and that I probably would never have discovered if not for Laughs. Other reviews had pointed out that it's in a strip mall and doesn't look like much from the outside, so I was expecting it. They were right on, but the place is pretty nice on the inside. We came for the 8pm show, for which doors open at 7:00. It was around 7:30, and after they'd taken our tickets (well, our voucher), they seated us and gave us menus. There were already a handful of people there but the place was fairly empty until right around 8. I'd seen reviews saying it's kind of pricey, but the prices seemed low-to-average to me. I guess the appetizers we ordered were kind of small, but I'd really prefer a smaller portion size anyway. We each ordered beers and then split nachos and the spinach artichoke dip. The nachos were okay - they included "cheese sauce" which isn't my favorite, but the chicken in them was actually really good. The spinach artichoke dip was good as well. And then I was craving edamame after seeing it on the menu, so I had to get some - and, I mean, you can't screw up edamame anyway, but it was tasty. Toward the end of the show, we split the chocolate "orgasm" cake which we enjoyed. None of it was exactly gourmet or amazing, but it was a lot better than you'd expect for a comedy club. All of that + our various beers went over our $40 food voucher, but we still got out of there for fairly cheap. The servers were pretty attentive. Our server somehow managed to knock my boyfriend's beer over... onto both of us... and you'd think that would really annoy me, but he was SO nice and apologetic about it. I really appreciated that he took the time to apologize and help clean up and everything rather than act like it was our issue. As for the comedy itself, I had no idea what to expect. I came here with my husband and a friend to see Josh Blue, which I was looking forward to very much for weeks leading up to the event. The anticipation was killing me...he is one of my favorite comedians. Well, here's how the night panned out : 1)Started off at Sluggers, where I visited a friend Bartending there I hadn't seen in awhile...which = several stronger-than-usual cocktails 2) Arrive at the show and order shots and cocktails 3) Proceed to get really drunk and excited during the opening act 4) Meet owner/manager and ask for a job, schmoozing a bit (bad time to do this by the way) 5) Be completely blacked-out three sheets blitzed by the time Josh Blue gets on stage 6) Wake up faceplanted the next morning in your entryway 7) Get laughed at and told by your husband that you talked to Josh Blue and held some sort of conversation, and get almost kicked out by said owner that you had just hit-up for employment, looking like a total amateur 8) Feel awesome and ashamed at the same time for talking to one of my favorite comedians but not remember a damn thing, aside from getting told I made a total ass out of myself read more

Your friendly neighborhood comedy club. We've been here about 10 times in the past 6 months and always have a good time. The wait staff is very friendly. The drinks are good and reasonably priced. The comedians are a mixed bag. Some have been very funny others have been only OK. But we always have a good time and they always have good seats for us and all the friends we can drag along. Do something different tonight. Go grab a comedy show. On Tuesday's they do wine tasting and a comedy show. We haven't made it yet but plan to one of these days when life slows down a little. One word of advice. Plan to eat before the show. The menu is limited and the food is pretty bland. Stick to comedy and drinks and you'll have a good time. read more

We went for the first round of the Third Annual Laugh Off which worried me a little. I've seen local comedians before who told jokes only locals would get, but these 10 comedians were hilarious. The MC, Bo, was very funny too. Each person in the crowd voted at the end of the show, and Bo entertained while they tallied the votes, not knowing how long it would take. He held his own and had us laughing right up until the announcement. The place was about 2/3 full. I only noticed one waitress, but she was on top of things. Everyone was being taken care of, and I didn't see anyone with a long wait time or unhappy with their service. I would definitely see comedy here again. read more

Service was super slow the night we wend in. It took about ten minutes to get a single beer after I ordered. When the server came back around, it looked like she waited for EVERY other drink she was waiting on before she began serving. She also seemed to lose track of who she had and hadn't taken orders for. We even had to flag the server down for another table that was quite parched. Luckily, once one of the owners got on stage to warm up the crowd she explained and apologized that they were rather short staffed today and to please bear with them during while they got everyone settled in. Had it not been for her explanation, I would have definitely thought this was the norm. The owner had some pretty good material, I particularly loved her joke about geriatric bullies and I'll just leave it at that. The rest of the show was action packed but I think the warm ups were better then the headliner on this particular night. Reflecting back, I would definitely go back again! Laughs is awesome. I love to go to shows there, perform there, and hang out there after shows. The owners are extremely hands on and the staff is awesome. Cozy venue for laughs! The place is in a little strip mall off the highway. There isn't a bad seat in the house. The way they place their seats and tables give you a perfect view of the stage. We arrived there an hour early to order food and drinks. The nachos and sweet potato fries were absolutely amazing! During the show, our waitress kept checking up on us to see if we wanted more drinks. I would definitely come back here for another show and the great service and food they provide. read more

Laughs is a great comedy club on the Eastside. They get a good mix of comedians from all different genres. Check out the website and find someone great for you! Also the food is good! I love the bbq chicken pizza, and order one NOT to share. But tickets online, and then go enjoy a show. The owners are local and at the club, and that gives it a great feel too! read more

I've had fun here several times. The food is so so, and I don't think the drinks are terribly strong, but I've always enjoyed the comedians and gotten a good laugh. Turn around time can be slow on drinks, and getting a glass of water isn't always easy. Like others have said, show up a little early, as the line does get long. read more

Second time is the charm. After a not-so-fun experience a regular performer/host at Laughs reached out and was apologetic and kind. He offered to bring me back with my friends for another performance. This time, it was fun and we all enjoyed ourselves. My only complaints are that it gets a little warm inside with all the people packed in so tightly and that it was hard to get someone to bring us water (we asked 3 times). I have been to this club 3 times and while there are a few things I would change 1. the food 2. the seating in the back ( very uncomfortable) Overall I am very happy with everything else. Quaint and small place, perfect for a date night, the comedians were funny, the food was super fattening and greasy like you were at a stadium for a game greasy, but it was worth it! I was pleasantly surprised with Laughs, from the outside you it just looks like another dive in a strip mall, but once you're inside it has been done up very nicely. Seating is first come first serve but even the seats in the back have a full view of the stage which was nice. The food was so yummy. I especially loved the sweet potato fries which were only five buck, and the skinny rootbeer float (diet rootbeer and vanilla vodka) which was like six bucks. The drink prices are pretty standard for what you get when you go out to any restaurant. I was there on a great date and it was a nice way to spend the remainder of our evening. But there also seemed like they had a few birthdays in the house as well as a bachelorette party having a good time in the back. The club was great and really intimate, which is even more exciting to me because you get to meet the performers, they hang out at the bar or by the door sometimes just doing a meet and greet. And they have some really big names come through and lots of the people from Last Comic Standing. I would recommend looking up who is performing before you head to a show and see if you like their comedy. That way you're sure to like what you see. I'll definitely be going back soon! read more

I'm writing in the position of a first timer who wanted to try open mic and should you 'wish' to try your hand at it, here's some advice since it's not evident at all on their website. Reality is, there are only really about 5-10 slots for open mic and the rest seem reserved for the regulars and those touring. Advice: 1. Go early, well before the doors are scheduled to open that Wednesday so you're one of the first five in line waiting outside the doors because it just boosts your odds you'll get a chance to do your set...if you're tenth in line, go elsewhere or accept you'll probably get wait listed...and that's almost a guaranteed promise you'll never get on. 2. Appreciate that five minute set time...although they're obviously lenient given quite a few comics were pushing the 8-10 minute mark easily. 3. The sign inside says you need to check in to Laughs via FB. Would have been handy on the website to mention that if for some reason you're a comic without a smartphone that day. That rule feels loosely enforced based on the individual. 4. Mellow out because the audience seems all not that bad even through some really rough sets. 5. The crowd will thin out near the last 10 sets so it is semi calming but disappointing too. Wish they did but likely won't: 1. They clearly have regular comics for better and for worse. I think it wouldn't hurt them to assess the regulars and find out if they should keep a spot open for some new comics because some of the regulars...could use the break. 2. They were much more transparent and consistent about how to get an open mic spot - Truly bring more than one person because I brought one person and still got waitlisted although the other two in front of me didn't bring anyone. Again, loosely applied, heavily judged. 3. Enforce that set time better because they'd be able to output a larger variety of different comics and hopefully different material on there because I know who some of the regulars are and it's like, can we have fresh material on stage too? 4. I wish they've factor in a little cultural/racial diversity into the comic line up too. Here are my other tidbits: Parking is just so limited and horrible in a real sketchy neighborhood. Do not leave a backpack, purse, wallet, anything, even a dashcam in plain sight at all and tuck in your outside mirrors or at least the side of your car that is next to the vehicle traffic.. The bathrooms are one of the nicer features of this facility. Pretty clean and work. Actually, the place is tidy. It's cozy and there's a very sufficient level of seating space. The service is very good given the number of staff they have. I haven't tried the bar but I appreciate they at least offer a Manny's or Mac & Jack's. They have offers like tickets for a show on a non open mic day. A redeeming quality for the audience is if maybe they screwed up your order, you get a show ticket kicked over to you. Overall: If you're just there as an audience member, it's not too bad, especially if you like a semi slow pace although parking in that area is really horrible. However, if you're hoping to do open mic, consider looking elsewhere since it sucks to know that truly out of 20 sets they're scheduling for, if you're first timing, you're just crossing your fingers for the only sub 10 spots they have for the non-touring/regulars. I get it, hit your audience with a really good strong opening but why not better triage who you repeatedly give priority to on that open mic set because sure, the comic doing open mic brought a crowd of around six to fill audience seats that takes precedence but how do you attract a bigger, newer audience off the same routines, some blaringly unfunny repeatedly? Some cognizance and willingness on their part on how they are perceived would very likely pay dividends for them in talent and audience growth should they decide to set that as a goal. read more

Girlfriend and I wanted to do something different and we had a 2 for 1 coupon for Laughs Comedy Club not knowing what to expect. We were skeptical when we pulled into the mall plaza parking lot but this was AN AMAZING GEM OF A COMEDY CLUB. We had such an amazing time! There were 3 comedians, 2 of which were local and headliner Baron Vaughn. It's a great intimate feel and laughed the entire time. the drinks were good and typical filling bar food. I highly recommend it. Especially for a date night. Looking on the back wall with past comedians there were some big names that obviously performed in their beginning stages before making it big. Kinda cool to say you went to a show and saw someone before they get Louis C.K. big. read more

I took a chance and drove from downtown Seattle (has nightlife) to Kirkland because the comic appearing at Laughs Comedy Spot had been funny on Last Comic Standing. I showed up tickets in hand as it sold out early. My date and I were starving (another story) so we ordered more food than our little round pub table could hold. Fortunately, the waitress was bright and friendly and brought the food in stages. The food was ok, sort of standard pub fair. The wine and beer selections were much better. The prices moderate. This has to be one of my favorite comedy clubs the audience is always having fun and the comics are great. Lots of local talent and national. I love the open mic night because I can snag a bunch of grilled cheese sandwiches and laughs, it's a total comfort food explosion! The weekends are also a lot of fun, you know you're getting a great show, every time. I highly recommend their chicken sandwich I get it just about every time. They have a mudpie to die for ask for two spoons, you're gonna need it! They also have rockin' ladies nights which include CUPCAKES, hello, yes please! The comics are a lot of fun and you can usually meet anyone there from local celebs to TV stars. Each night is really just a great ride. Laughs is the BEST comedy club in the Seattle/Bellevue area. Hands down! The food is very good and the bartenders know how to make tasty cocktails. They also have good beers on tap. Service is always friendly and solid! Laughs brings in some really great comics. Even the comics that open up for the main act are funny. I've been to so many comedy clubs in the area and the opening comics always BOMB. Laughs doesn't just throw anyone up on stage. They make sure that you get a good show from start to finish. The last show I was at had 4 comics including the headliner! The staff go out of the way to make sure everyone is having a great time during the show. The owners have a good eye for talent so even if you haven't heard of some of the comics before, chances are they are hilarious anyway. Laughs also offers great check in specials. Everything was good... Had no problem finding parking. All of the comics were funny without being overly crude. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The menu is varied and interesting. My wife and I went to see Tom Papa last night. He was hilarious, lots of great laughs and great atmosphere. I definitely recommend seeing a show here. The 2 drink minimum was met, however; the drinks were watered down and created with cheap spirits. 2 drinks should not equal headache. The drinks tasted like they were made with crushed ice than allowed to sit on a tray in the kitchen until someone ordered. The drinks are inexpensive, relative. $8 is not a bad price for this type of atmosphere. Please feel free to charge more for the drinks, good drinks. Ps. The service was exceptional. read more

This place is great for comedy. I have been here 5 times in the last couple months. The acts are pretty hilarious and I really like the guests that they bring in. Most of the acts that are there every week are awesome and fresh with only a couple recycled jokes. Except this one dude that's only joke is awkward Asian stupidity. If I have to hear him make fun of himself and Asian people one more time with the same act over and over... I may never come back.... Also their mixed drinks suck so order beer and their food is nothing special. read more

I had NO CLUE what to expect last Friday coming to Laughs as my husband had purchased a Groupon to use for our maiden voyage. I am so glad he did buy that darn Groupon as we had a FANTASTIC time! We were pretty much the only ones who chose to sit super close but that didn't bother us. I actually don't think there is a bad seat in the house. I got up to use the restroom and could still see great from the back of the club. The owners have done a really great job disguising the fact the building used to be Godfathers pizza. If I hadn't gone to that Godfathers location as a kid, I never would have known. I think everything is reasonably priced. Three cocktails, and three apps ended up being $38. They give you a TON of food too per each app so you won't go hungry. The waitress was super attentive and not more then a couple minutes went by before she was back checking on us. Might I recommend the Skinny Root Beer Float? It's vanilla vodka and diet Root Beer - yum, yum! I am looking forward to coming back for another show soon. read more

My boyfriend and I got a GROUPON several months ago and finally used it in May, a few weeks ago! Honestly, we went in to it thinking it would be lame, especially my boyfriend. I haven't ever had a friend tell me about Laughs, so who knew. It was hilarious and a VERY fun night! Funny comedians, great seats, yummy food and drinks AND, I think my favorite part was the seating and the fact that it is a much smaller comedy club, than one might think it would be. From my experience of watching comedy live (which isn't often) at a comedy club, is that they are so busy, so it is hard to hear and just not near as enjoyable. I highly recommend Laughs and it is a great place for a date anytime :) read more
