My Washer stopped working recently and so while I am getting it repaired, I decided to come here to do my laundry for the day and almost every machine was defective with no signage to warn us. The worst part about it was that it kept some of my quarters, yes it was only $2.00 however since it cost 8.00 to wash this was 25% of the total cost. All this would have been fine as I know sometimes machines have issues from personal experience as I mentioned above but I was setback by the customer service here and the willingness the employees have to resolve these issues. No I did not want my $2.00 back but yes that would have been nice lol. I brought it up to the personnel cleaning she mentioned that she had no clue it was defective and so I suggested they put a sign on it as a courtesy for other customers, which they did not. She explained nicely that she did not have much authority over anything her only job was to clean which I completely understand but I do think this is wrong that you can not get a hold of any customer service rep or management. So overall not too happy this establishment, I will try again at a later point and hopefully I have a better experience in the future. For now I just wanted to put this information out there as a courtesy to others.

    Big washers for $7.

I hate doing laundry, especially when I have to travel to do it. It is the bane of my existence. And this place doesn't necessarily ease my laundry anxiety. The only nice positive about this particular laundromat is that the machines are relatively big and accepts Apple Pay or credit cards! Even though I don't use that method of payment, i stick to regular good old fashioned quarters cause I'm old school like that, it's nice to have consumer choice. My one big gripe about this place is that the floors are terribly dirty and wet during peak hours or by the end of the day. You have to be especially conscious when unloading from washer to dryer and make sure your clean clothes don't fall onto the filthy floor and contract something of the moldy sort! There's also trash everywhere! They really should have an on site attendant at all times since I'm sure they get heavy volume usage. There's big machines that you can wash your whole closet in for $7 and drying costs $0.25 for 6 minutes. There's also a step stool for us shorties that want to use the bigger machines but are vertically challenged to dispense the soap at the top of the machine. The waiting area has benches. I wouldn't call them the most comfortable or most ergonomic, they have a weird slant to them, but I remain grateful to have a place to sit and Yelp as I wait for my laundry to conclude. In conclusion, it's not the best laundromat but it's not the worst. I have yet to find one that will light my world on fire or make me absolutely fall in love with doing laundry.

The change machine took my 10 dollars !!!!!!!! and 2 of the dryers do not work.. the number several times and there's no option to leave a message and nobody answers I really hope I get my $10 back and it was actually my daughter's $10 that she offered to use

Pretty clean place. Plenty of machines. A bit more expensive from other places but this is Menlo Park. It's always not very crowded.

Overpriced. Did NOT GET MY CLOTHES CLEAN. The woman who works there was unhelpful, rude and disrespectful.

I recommend it for a birthday gift to yourself or for those days that you need the wash done while at work.

The clothes are ready on time, and the packaging is neat and careful--you can tell they put a lot of effort into it. This will definitely be my go-to dry cleaner from now on.

I have been a longtime Atherton Dry Cleaning customer, probably 15+ years, and while I'd never…read moreposted a review, we knew and were known by Angela and Stanley Shu, the wonderful former owners. If I'd posted then, it would have been 5 stars. One time they made a mistake - my 2 (very) expensive and relatively new Canali flat-front dress pants were picked up by another customer. When I inquired and showed Angela the claim check, she worked really hard to find my clothes - using cameras (she sent me a screenshot showing me dropping them off, to confirm) she made customer inquiries, calling customers who may have picked up same day, or with similar claim numbers. And it took her 15 days (giving me periodic updates), but she literally tracked my clothes to another customer. And I got them back. What really satisfied me wasn't my relief in not losing some rather expensive pants, but the level of concern and customer service that Atherton Cleaners showed. And it was the same with Stanley , who was often working customer drop off and pick up on Saturdays which is usually when my wife or I stopped in. In addition to doing a good job, the Shu's sincerely cared about their customers, and knew them personally. BUT, Angela and Stanley retired in early 2025. The new couple who bought out Atherton Cleaners are perfectly nice people, but unfortunately, they do not share the same customer values that Stanley and Angela showed for many, many years. We continued to use Atherton Cleaners, but recently I dropped off a French blue Boss dress shirt. I'd worn it to an event that I participated in on a Friday, dropped it off on Saturday. A week later my wife picked it up, and the new owner gave it back with what I can only describe as a severe, vertical and horizontal tear along the shirt's button placket. The owner stated that the shirt came in that way, which was simply untrue. And he denied that the rip was caused by their laundering or pressing equipment. It would have been difficult for me to create such a specific tear (see photo). And he pointed out to my wife that it was dirty, which is of course why we brought it in! My issue is not that they didn't offer to pay for the shirt. The shirt was expensive when I bought it, but it was several years old, and it was starting to wear, although it looked nice when cleaned and it had no tears or damage when I brought it in that day. It was just worn (probably twice before cleaning), unpressed and was developing some ring around the collar. My issue was their unwillingness to just tell the truth, which was "I'm really sorry, our machine ruined your shirt". In truth, I'd probably not have asked for them to replace the shirt, because I'd realized I needed to buy a new French blue dress shirt. But as a customer, having the business look you in the eye and tell you it's your fault shows a complete lack of accountability. It's not about whether you make a mistake or not - every business makes mistakes. I make mistakes. It's just owning them and letting your customers know that you care and commit to doing better. I've decided to take my business elsewhere, and I'm disappointed in the transition from the 5-star customer service days of Angela and Stanley's Atherton Cleaners to the newer, much less customer focused Atherton Cleaners.
