Amir and his team are the best in the area. We had been going to another drycleaner in Menlo Park for a long time who had our credit card on file. She would charge us periodically and those bills would often raise an eyebrow but we just chalked it up to "dry cleaning is expensive". We decided to try PKS and came to find out that she was completely gouging us!! Not only was PKS a way better experience (quick turnaround, text message notifications, excellent knowledge and service) but a great value and a fraction of what we were paying elsewhere. Wanted to give a shot out to PKS for always doing an amazing job. I've been here a few times and they are always so friendly. I brought in a linen mixed blazer that I tried to spot clean and completely ruined it. I brought it in in hopes that they can fix it for me. they gave me a text letting me know that they would like to keep it a little longer to completely remove the stain. They had warned me in store that they were not 100% sure that they could get it out and I was totally OK with that. I recently had three sets of pants (two jeans, one nylon) that I needed hemmed. I asked in my parent Facebook group for recommendations and pricing. I received great recommendations with an average price of $25-$30 per bottom. PKS is my local cleaners that I use on the rare occasion I need something dry cleaned so I was pleasantly surprised they would hem pants as well. The turn around time was under a week and I was charged $42 for all 3 bottoms which ended up being a lot less than what I was expecting. The service was friendly as well. read more

I've been going to PKS since about 1993. They are wonderful. They clean my wife's delicate things with care; he knows just how I like my Oxford-cloth shirts. He commonly offers finish times sooner than I can even get back. Their repair and alteration service is wonderful. They patched our daughter's rough-and-tumble clothes when she was in grade school and now do alterations on her professional clothes since she finished graduate school. They fabricated new covers for the seat cushions in my Airstream right down to the zippers and piping on the edges. I pay them to repair things that might even be cheaper to replace so my money stays in Menlo Park instead of an off-shore factory and it consumes fewer resources. It is handy that I can get there on my bicycle from the Survey also. read more

Short-sighted, rude, unprofessional store owner who was not willing to take responsibility for his employees or fix an easy-to-fix problem. This is not a place where the customer is always right. I am so sad that my experience was nothing like the rest of the reviewers. I brought several things cleaned and altered. For the alternations I had to come back several times when the alternations person would be in the shop. It would be great to have this information ahead of time (website anyone?) to save all the extra trips. The real disappointment came when I discovered my dress ruined, shortened about 6 inches too short for any form of deceny. I asked for it to be shortened evenly, but it was measured from the originally uneven hem, meaning it was still drastically uneven. She straightened it out, but at that point the entire dress was much too short. The extra sad part was that the store owner (and alternations person) took 0 ownership of the issue, placing blame of me for incorrectly describing what I wanted. The store owner said it was up to the alterations person, whom he would check with if she would offer a discount. Of course he never called me back, but I finally caught him on my second try checking in for an update. He refused to compensate me (not even for the dress, just the alterations work!). I would think that covering the $28 alterations fee at least would be worth it to keep up relations, and avoid this review. As the store owner, I would think he would take responsibility for his employees. Instead he said it was "the alterations person's decision." Seriously, if it were my business, I would have taken out $28 from my pocket. I was VERY, VERY frustrated. He snapped at me as I stood with my ruined dress in his shop. I offered to give him the dress as proof I would never wear it anymore if I could just get my money back. He refused. Grrrrr, incredible what a horrible taste poor customer service leaves in your mouth. Luckily there are many other much better alterations places. read more

I brought a satin evening gown with a mermaid hem here for shortening and they did a great job; total damage $30 and I had the dress back in 3 days. Also have had skirts and suits dry-cleaned here-- their prices are reasonable and they will make an effort to get things back to you in a hurry if you have an emergency. read more

I've used PKS for years and have been exceptionally pleased. They turn items around quickly (even overnight when needed), have been great with basic alterations and always nice customer service. There have been a few instances where a button gets damaged and they are always happy to replace. Also love that my clothes don't have that chemical smell.
