Well I was using Laundry King - Bay Ridge for over a year since I moved to the area, however what happens there lately is insane. They DO NOT HAVE HOT WATER! First time it was a week or two ago when there would be no hot water for a few days and when I eventually came back to do my laundry again there was NO HOT WATER! still?! again?! I don't know. I tried to talk to a member of staff when I complained about it last Sunday morning, but he didn't care. I asked him when everything is going to be fixed? he didn't know. I left the place and found a different laundromat which was nice, with hot water and much cheaper. I will not be using the Laundry king again, I am happy with a new place! My two friends (with whom I was trying to get my laundry done) and I will not go back there anymore! read more

I loathe this place for multiple reasons, let me count the ways. 1. Do not be fooled by their sign that states they have air conditioning, they may have air conditioning, however, they do not put it on, ever. 2. They have not one, but two ATMs that are out of service, permanently. 3. There are always at least five dryers that are broken and to top it off, which I must add is quite common among laundromats, people will monopolize the sh*t out of the dryers and legitimately use one for a pair of socks. 4. The laundry carts. There's about ten, five of which have so much hair and lint wrapped around the wheels that they don't even move. Today we actually lost another one to a chick sitting in one to pick her toes...yea, you heard right. I left the best for last, 5. The rotten staff. I shall explain. I'm pretty sure working in a laundromat sucks, especially one that doesn't use the AC they promise that they have (see #1) but wtf man? Every time I do my laundry here, I either get scolded for taking a plastic bag from the folding table or I get the hairy eyeball for putting my bags of laundry in their shi**y a** carts (see #4) and push it towards the front of the laundromat so I can leave it INSIDE the laundromat while I run and get my car. This staff member was eyeballing me so friggin hard I'm surprised my hair didn't get singed. I had to walk over and ask if there was a problem after laser eyeballs staff member began whispering to the other staff member while still shooting laser beams from her eyes. Which of course I get a response telling me I cannot take the cart outside, which of course I had no intentions on doing, if I wanted a leg workout I would walk over to Harbor down the block. Anyway, unfortunately I have no choice to do my laundry here being that I do not have a washer and dryer in my building and I live across the street from this sh*thole. Then again, I may be better off washing my clothes on the rocks by the belt parkway. read more

Place is huge, has parking, and the drop-off is a very good deal when compared to the cost of doing your own. I had a small issue once where some things were mixed up but they brought it to my attention as opposed to pretending all was well. We sorted everything right away and then the manager let me know that it was on the house! perfectly handled and so I'm happy to write a good review. read more

This place is amazing, I love it. I honestly think this is the best laundry service ever. Looks like someone else besides me actually cares about my cloth. They always follow my instructions, with excellent folding. I just feel so luxurious opening my bag and finding my cloth neatly organized and smelling fresher then ever! The people for wash and fold are always smiling, very helpfully, nice, and let me not start with their folding. Once I opened my bag and found money on top of it, and kid you not I was surprised. It was money that I forgotten in my pants, it was around $100, and they put it back! Not much people are that honest and generous now days. If their staff are that kind I could only imagine how the owner of the Laundry is. The laundry is just so welcoming. Especially with their message chairs, and the mini conversations with the wash and fold lady. I would give the place 5 stars however my only complain is that I have used their bathroom multiple times and it wasn't so clean. Smelled off at times. Also just because one guy who works there does not usually have his mask on. It's either under his nose, not worn at all, or worn just when he sees a costumer approaching. Not so safe especially during corona! I have never written reviews before but this place managed to make me download yelp, search them up and give them the review they deserve. Really good service, staff is very helpful and friendly. Very spacious and clean with free parking. Was open on Christmas day too when I urgently needed some clothes washed and every other place was closed. They even helped me print some important stuff out. - They constantly lost my clothes, and when asked about this they did nothing but shrug their shoulders. - I used a large hockey bag to drop off clothes (Hockey bags are incredibly durable, if you don't know) Anyways, I pick up my clothes one day and find that the zipper has been completely ripped off, and the bag has been pinned together with safety pins. No explanation as to why. I came back later and asked the owner, and he said there was nothing he could do. A $100+ bag destroyed. - The last transgression: Clothes were dropped off, weighed, and ticket given. I go to pick them up later, but this time the owner is there. He lifts the bag, decides to re-weigh it, and ends up voiding my ticket and tacking on a few extra dollars. I could say that through the first ticket, we entered into a contract, and deciding to change the terms after the service has been rendered is a contract violation. So happy my washer and dryer have been replaced. Was coming here for a few months and couldn't take it anymore. The only pro is parking. The majority of the staff don't speak English and haven't a clue on what's going on. The place is usually a mess, bathrooms filthy, dryer lint traps all full, litter scattered around and trash bins full. On some nights vagrants enjoy the free coffee and nap in the corner. If you have a choice don't come here. P.S- Still waiting for a response from management after a $20 bill was eaten by their machine- staff couldn't resolve and an email was sent last winter. read more

DISHONEST -- DO NOT GO HERE!!!! The Laundromat that I use to use closed and I was in need of a new place. I thought I would try this business! I wish that I never did! They lost my laundry for two days and told me that I had to wait to get my clothes back until someone else called them and realized that they had the wrong laundry bag. In the meantime I had someone else's clothes and prayed that they would find my clothes soon and offered for them to come and pick up the wrong laundry bag that was brought to me!. They told me they would wait until they found out who this bag belonged to. So, for two days I held on to someone else's clothes and waited. Finally they found my clothes and were very apologetic. The store owner/manager told me that if I used their services again it would be free of charge. So, in good faith I decided that everyone makes mistakes and called them to pick up my laundry again. I spoke to the manager/store owner to confirm that this would be free of charge before pickup. The next day they called me back to tell me that I owed them the full amount of what my laundry was and the store manager wasn't there and they couldn't deliver anything until I paid the balance in full. I opted to wait until the next day to speak directly with the store owner/manager again. When I was able to get a hold of him the next day he informed me that he could not do that and did not promise me anything! He then told me that the person I spoke with does not exist even though it was really him and started to use a different name! I went there in person only to find out his name was the same as the person I spoke to the day prior that promised me my delivery of free laundry and that he just basically did that so I would use their services again! He had made up the second name! Who does that!! I ended up writing them a note and put it in an envelope that read something along the lines ---as per our previous agreement our financial arrangement has been settled and didn't give them anything. For the next hour or so the delivery man rang my bell and I told him to just give the letter to his owner and he would know what to do with ---- never heard back from the store owner directly again!! They are very dishonest --- please do not use their services! read more

Laundry King and I are having a few issues. If you like to do your laundry yourself, Laundry King is a good option. The new owners are keeping it very clean, almost 100% of the machines are working each time I go, there is a good variety of machine sizes from small to behemoth and plentiful dryers. I agree that there aren't enough carts, which can be critical when trying to save your work clothes from wrinkling. My issue is with their laundry service. Yes, they do free pick up and delivery. They call you about 30 minutes before each so you can be ready with your clothes or the money. That part is great. The big problem is with the folding (who folds pants sideways?! Why would someone even do that? My pants were horribly wrinkled to the point that I had to call Laundry King and have them rewashed and pressed) and with fabric softener stains. You know those dark stains clothes get (especially black, dark red, or navy items) when there is either too much fabric softener or the washing machine has been overstuffed? Well, I found many of those stains on my clothes. Ten items needed to be sent back to be rewashed. Three came back still with stains on them. I washed the clothes myself with Tide -- the stains came out. If you have sheets, blankets, pajamas, "play" clothes (stuff you don't wear to work) - Laundry King's service is great for that. Clothes you care about, especially dark colored clothes, think twice about them washing those items for you. I gave them three chances, and all three times I had issues. I love that they are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I just wish they did service work better. read more

Only good thing about this place is that its 24 hours. I usually do my laundry at the Crispy Clean but it has some weird hours 7am-8pm. I was in need clean clothes so I decided to drag all my laundry into the car, drive over to Laundry King and do some laundry. Ok so this place has parking, free wifi and vending machines. BUT did you know you have to pay $3 for a card (its refundable), and you have add even more money so you can do your laundry, your $3 doesnt go towards your laundry. The machines seemed a little expensive. 1.99 for a small, 2.75 for a medium, 4.75 for a large and 5.50 for an extra large. The dryers are 25 cents for 6 minutes and they did absolutely nothing except make my closes extra hot and they were still wet. Terrible dryers. I went home with slightly damp clothes and wasted about $7 trying to dry my clothes. Yes I put my clothes in small batches, yes i didn't put all heavy stuff together. Yea I'm not going to come back unless its a laundry emergency which I'm hoping will not happen any time soon. read more

The first time to drop off my dry cleaning, I was pleased by the service and prices. THEN....a navy shirt came back with bleach stains all over it and a nice little note saying "sorry we tried but we could get out your stains." My stains?! The shirt needed a basic dry clean, not a bleach bath. Are you kidding? Against my better judgment, I dropped off a few more items. When I brought them home, I found a label STAPLED to the front of a dress shirt. No, not to the interior shirt tag. To the front of the shirt directly on the fabric in what is probably the most noticeable place possible. Now not only is it wrinkled from the removal of this label, there are STAPLE HOLES in the front of my dress shirt. I am now in search of a new place where the employees have more common sense. read more

First time writing a review of any sort in my life. Only gave a star because I had to click one to continue. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE... FAR The first time I dropped my clothes here, I was told to put clothes that I don't want to dry in a separate bag. I followed those directions and got back clean clothes twice, (although they looked like they were folded by a 4 year old). I refolded the clothes when I got home, no problem. The place is walking distance from my apt so it didn't bother me too much. The third and LAST time I brought my clothes here it seemed the "separate bag for clothes not to be dried" rule didn't apply. They dried every single thing, shrunk it all and lost an item as well. I called immediately when I got home to complain. I was told by a manager that the owner only comes in on Thursdays from 12-4 and he would call me back then. He never called, so I did. The manager answered when I called, I asked to speak to the owner and he got back on the phone pretending to be a different person. I told him I would like to speak to the owner so he finally put him on. He was rude, obnoxious, demeaning and nasty. He told me I would need to drop off the shrunken clothes and leave them for "at least 4 days" to be put "under investigation". When I inquired what kind of investigation a shrunken sweater requires, he turned into an animal on the phone. I had to ask twice to be sure I was speaking to an actual business owner because I couldn't believe the way he was speaking to a customer. After going back and forth for a while he informed me he "absolutely makes enough money" and doesn't need my business so it really didn't matter to him whether or not I brought the clothes in "for investigation". Long story short, the phone call ended up with him cursing at me. Yes, a male business owner cursing at a woman on the phone. He told me to take him to court if I didn't like how he ran his business. The owner was an absolute disgrace to deal with and I will be throwing out my shrunken clothes rather than ever stepping foot in that place again. THE WORST customer service. I've been going there for 2 years without a problem until recently. They ruined 4 pairs of pants with bleach stains. When I showed the manager she "did an investigation". Of course there was no bleach near my clothes and these stains miraculously appeared. I wasn't a fly by night customer. Tried their laundry pickup/ dropoff service. They picked up later than their stated time range. Bad sign. Promised us they'd be back in the next time slot the next night-- didn't show up, didn't call. We called and the people we talked to barely spoke English, had no information for us, and couldn't get in touch with the driver. Called 3 times the next day to find out where our laundry was and when we could get it. Each time was promised a call back that never came. Didn't get a discount-- and, in fact, was stiffed on our change. When our laundry finally came, I asked the delivery guy what happened and he said "oh... I left early yesterday." D'oh! read more

I've gotten same day service here twice since moving to Bay Ridge a few weeks ago. The lady at the counter is nice and everything seems pretty clean as far as laundry mats go. Especially one that's open 24/7. I've pretty much fell in love with laundry service since being here and even debated actually getting a washer/dryer. Something about clean laundry and perfectly folded clothes is really appealing. I can't really compare the price of same day as I've never done it anywhere else before but it seems reasonable. $10.50 for 14 pounds, $9.75 for 13 pounds. When you think about the amount of quarters needed to do a load in addition to the worth of your sanity having to sit there for multiple hours with two toddlers, well, it's definitely worth it to me. As far as if it's actually ready to be picked up at 6pm like they say? I don't know. I've always picked it up the day after. read more

I come here with my comforters and other items that are too large for my machine at home. They need to fix the machines in a timely manner. Lots of washers and dryers out of service. They also need someone to enforce the rules in the parking lot. I am handicapped and most times when I try to park a car is occupying the handicapped spot without a placard. I got same day laundry service here. They'll do your laundry and fold it for you. I had 15 pounds of clothes and it cost about $10. My clothes smell good and are clean. They got out some stains that I would hope they could tackle, so that was nice. The place is pretty big; there are rows and rows of washers and dryers here. The staff was friendly. Truly awful customer service. The manager only works 4 hours a week and is impossible to contact. A machine malfunctioned and took $20 from me. I am on week 3 of trying to get a refund. Every time I call, I get a different person and a different story. You need a $3 card to do even 1 load of laundry. "Fully Air-Conditioned" - says the stencil on their windows. "We have HOT WATER" - says the sandwich board out front. The first quote is an outright lie. (I don't remember the last time the AC worked, or that there weren't buckets and towels lining the floor where the AC unit is apparently leaking its death juice.) The second quote should tell you all you need to know: that a LAUNDRY establishment has to trumpet the fact that their hot water was fixed after being out for a long period. Add to that the fact that there are at least four "out of service" washers at all times, and usually the same amount of "out of service" dryers. And the dryers that are in service *might* actually completely dry a medium-sized load in 36 minutes. And you'll consider it a victory if you only have one or two damp pieces. This place is a JOKE. I implore the owners to please sell off this establishment to someone who actually cares about keeping their customers AND WORKERS in comfortable conditions, and maintains their infrastructure and machinery. Read my other reviews...I am not a serial complainer on Yelp. But Laundry King needs to be outed. Look at the other reviews and pictures posted here - the recent ones. This place is very dirty & rundown. Staff are rude & act like you are bothering them when asked a question. Toilet has out of order sign, but according to one rude staff member is NOT "out of order " but sign used a deterrent for non paying customers. I really can't think of anything positive to say about this place other than they are open 24 hours. The service is atrocious. Not only did they lose my sister's clothes, they also lost mine. My bag was eventually found but really, who wants to go through the stress of hoping a lost bag of laundry will turn up. The staff didn't seem too concerned that they lost a customer's entire laundry bag, maybe it's because this a regular occurrence. I have been to laundry king many times. I usually drop my laundry off then pick it up the next day. I Will Never Do that Again. the last time I did my girlfriend found a booger on her shirt. I thought maybe it came from the dogs or she sat in something. Then the next day I find another booger on my shirt. It was clear that one of the employees picked their nose and wipped it on my clothing as they folded it. I took my shirt back to the store and showed them. I even left the shirt there so the could show the owner and for him to call me back. It has been over a week and no one has returned my calls. No one has even apologised. I liked this place. I just hated paying $3 for a laundry card, but they told me that is refundable. I was happy there is room to move around. I hate tight laundromats, with people piled on top of each other. My dad brings a load of laundry and they charge $7.50 for the bag, which is not bad at all. I just personally don't let people do my own laundry (plus I see the other reviews here & I'm happy I don't use that service myself now). I also loved the massage chairs in there. I haven't used a laundromat in years, so I have even worse places I'm comparing this to in my mind lol. read more
