Went in today and was very surprised by how rude the employees/volunteers were. No greeting, no smile and the young girl beside the counter acted like it was an issue to ring me up. Another employee that was stocking shoes was very polite and said good morning to everyone and the young girl behind the counter was rude to her. The store was a bit overpriced for items that were used. Most of the jewelry was marked up 75% of what it was worth. I doubt I will be going back due to the uncomfortable feeling of the store. If you want to attract customers I would suggest more engaging employees. Also, not a great selection of items and very outdated. read more

Laura's house resale store is in the same mall as BevMo and Smart & Final Extra! on El Toro Road. Its stated purpose is to inspiring hope and empowering change to end domestic violence. The store is smaller than the Goodwill thrift store but it has a good selection of clothes, books, decorations, bicycles, even furnitures. There is a small table in the back corner for kids to sit and read, a very nice touch if you ask me. I stop in from time to time to pick up a thing or two. Everything for sale has a tag. Just pick up the tag to cashier to pay for the selected item(s). It usually has several ladies working in the shop and they are very friendly. Come on by if you need holiday decorations. Laura's House has been a staple in South OC for decades. I have personally seen the impact and support they give to families facing domestic violence- what they do is real and powerful. Everything in the shop is clean, nicely organized, and the staff are very friendly! This time around I got a few dresses (all under $6) and tops (all under$4). My favorite section of the store is the Vintage area bc VINTAGE!! These are the only items that are a *little* pricy as it's vintage- but still I think it's a good deal. I got a vintage coat and dress for $30. Every piece I've gotten here looks brand new and it's nice to shop guilt free. You can donate most clothing and home items as long as they are gently used. I highly recommend stopping by Laura's House if you're in the area! You never know what you're going to find. read more

Store organization 4/5 Store is organized pretty well. They sorted and labeled racks as knits, retro, sleeveless, long sleeve, etc. And even had a rack for new with tags. On each rack, they even sort by size (THANK YOU!!) They have a home goods and shoes section too which was nice. I didn't see a separation of designer/higher end but I think they kinda did that on each rack. Requires some digging but not too bad. The size separation and style separation is SUPER helpful. Store selection 3/5 They had a lot of jewelry here so if you're looking for that this place seems good! They had I think just 1 men's rack. The brands ranged from fast fashion/ cheaper brands (forever 21, old navy) to a couple in mid tier brands (madewell, banana republic). From what I could tell and everything seemed to be in fine condition. For me I found about 3 pieces worth trying on after about 30mins looking but didn't like any of them enough to purchase. Store pricing 3/5 I think the pricing is ok. I think most of what I saw was $6-$25 with some random designer things like $100+. They have a deal, if it's you're birthday month, 10% off! Selection was mediocre when I popped in most recently in early October. The "with tags" section was actually priced pretty high. The other areas had minimal quantities -- perhaps it was just an off time and they were waiting for more donations. I was looking for careerwear and really didn't find anything. I browsed the casual clothes too - just to see what they had - but nothing really caught my eye. Worth a stop in if you're in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way. 2021: 43/100 read more

This is a really great thrift/resale store. The staff is kind, pleasant and helpful. The store is kept in really good order. The selection will always be hot and miss with this type of store but they have a pretty good variety of nice things including shoes, designer handbags and some other designer and low cost items, along with a decent denim selection when I was in. They usually have racks in front with additional discount items. I love sustainable fashions and this is a good option. read more

Favorite thrift store in all of Orange County, and I do a LOT of thrift shopping. Always very helpful and kind employees. Although they're prices have increased recently (like literally everything everywhere in the world), they're still pretty good and far better priced than anything at Goodwill and other now ridiculously overpriced thrift stores. It's a small store, but it's all quality items. You don't have to dig through junk to find one ok item. I've gotten amazing antique tea sets and pieces for my porcelain collection here as well. read more

Full disclosure, I have shopped at this store many times and have found a few deals here. However... today I learned that what I had suspected were their pricing practices, was sadly the case. ((TLDR they use current online listings without taking in account that those items often actually sell for much less)). Months ago I was taken aback by a ridiculously high price they had on a Mexican Tonala Toucan. I mentioned to the manager that their price was way off and she condescendingly said she had done her research and knew what it was worth. Now, several months later and it has been marked down multiple times (see pic) and is still priced too high, considering the most recent similar SOLD comps are less than half what their current price is. I asked one of the ladies working if they would take a lower offer and showed her my justification for a lower price. She was very nice and said she'd have to check with her manager, Cindy, who wasn't there today. Well, I wasn't super hopeful since Cindy was who I had spoken to before, but I showed the lady working how to check SOLD comparables on her phone with hope that Cindy might be more receptive to one of her colleagues giving her this information. Also, in the event that they didn't accept my offer, I told her what a reasonable price range would be in a resale setting. But like I anticipated, Cindy was quick to defend her pricing and referenced one of the same overpriced current listings I had shown the other gal. So basically, when pricing their items, this store looks at current listings, no matter how ridiculous they may be, rather than checking what items have actually SOLD for. No wonder their prices are so wonky. My advice to anyone who shops here... unless you have money to burn and don't care if you are overpaying, check online for SOLD compareables first! There's a good chance you can find it for a better price elsewhere. It's such a bummer though, I really wanted to like this store because of the cause they support but I just can't with business practices like these. They do have some great deals, but also some of the stuff is way over priced. Actually makes no sense to me that they do that and the people that can't afford it ends up not being able to buy some of the nicer stuff. It seems discriminatory to me, but what gets me most of all is some of the attitudes of the people that work there extremely unfriendly and they always look like they're chewing glass not all of them but most of them. read more

I recently had the pleasure of volunteering for an event through them, and was able to really learn a lot more about what they do, what they offer, etc. Amazing. I have made a few clothing donations to this store, and the staff is always very friendly. I just realized this past weekend there is a door around back where you can drop items off, instead of carrying them through the store. I stopped in here the other day after hearing about this store from a friend of mine. The store is beautifully set up with sections for kids, designer, men's, accessories, books, cookbooks, housewares & jewelry. I saw some nice Kate Spade wallets and Kate Spade purses that looked brand new. The designer section had St.John & a designer tee shirt priced at $99.00 that I'm sure is fake as all the tags were cut out of it. Who cuts tags out of designer clothing anyway, but maybe somebody did. They had tons of earrings, some vintage jewelry, a rack full of purses, some nice china & a gorgeous set of lamps that I almost bought. The volunteers there are the nicest, I was greeted as I walked in I was offered a dressing room & I was told I could stash my stuff by the counter so I don't have to carry it around the store. I ended up with a a Free People dress, a cozy cardigan for lounging around the house & a cute pair of Sundry sweatpants that I found on the half off rack outside the entrance to the store. Everything was less than $30.00 including tax so I was happy! I like supporting thrift stores that donate directly to a charity or a cause as opposed to shopping a corporate giant like Goodwill. Give them your phone number when you check out. For every dollar you spend you get a point, rack up 100 points & receive $5.00 off your next purchase. You also receive 10% off a purchase during your birthday month. Nice perks and I will be sure to check out this store on a regular basis. BEWARE, A RIP OFF! While it is for a good cause, you have to watch the staff, they will over charge you. I've been in there several times and started noticing I was charged more than double on several things and it was becoming a habit with the staff. When I brought it up I got a very nasty response and argued with. I canceled my purchase and left. This is NOT a good image to show the public when it's suppose to represent a charity for battered women. It makes me wonder where the money is going and if the women who need help really get anything! read more

I absolutely love this place! Almost every time I come here I find some sort of amazing treasure! I've found some crazy designer vintage pieces here, mostly from the 80s and I've even found some modern designer clothes, like free people. The prices are amazing, especially because most of the items they sell are in great shape. And last, but certainly not least, all of the proceeds go to an amazing organization that helps people in need. Beginning my weight loss journey to lose my pandemic weight. Stopped in today on my lunch to get some workout tops. Even though I was only there for a few minutes, I found a lot very quickly as the store is SO organized. I left with four workout shirts in great condition for under $20. We scored so much good stuff here it's hard to pinpoint the exact deal that made it all worthwhile. My wife was able to find a lot of brand name maternity clothes and baby clothes for a fraction of the in store cost. The staff was very helpful and friendly towards everyone who was shopping that day. We don't often find ourselves on that side of town but it's worth going out of your way to come here and spend your hard earned dollars because you will not be disappointed. read more
