Good food, friendly people amazing service, my family and I love coming here for dinner

I tried out this Larua restaurant today because my wife was craving some chicken mole and we basically live nearby. I called them first before ordering online to double check that they can do regular chicken burrito because on their website, I only saw wet burrito on their Laura's burrito. They said to just put it in the special request so I did. I also ordered the chicken nachos and asada nachos. I don't recommend the nachos for to go order because the chips will get soggy by the time you get home so it's better eating it there. I arrived a little early to pick up my food and it wasn't ready yet so I just waited inside. I also talked to the staff while waiting and they were really friendly. They also live nearby too so it's convenient for them. They put all 4 of my orders in 1 bag and I don't think it was the best choice. The mole sauce pilled due to how they place it in the bag and it was on the bottom of everything else. The chicken pieces on the nachos and burrito were also more burnt than usual so you got the bitter taste. My wife like her chicken mole and I thought the carne nachos were okay beside the chips being soggy. read more

Since moving to Arleta I've dined at Laura's a few times for an early quiet dinner, not on karaoke nights. The ambiance, food and service have always been very good. Laura's has a very diverse menu including a la carte and entree items. Typical Mexican fare and all served nicely with a good selection of beers on tap. I can only recommend what I've tried including the steak combo platter, the chicken tostada, the chile releno and enchilada, all with rice and beans. The only downside for this gringo was that the red salsa was a bit too hot for my taste. I ate the chips plain. A good experience overall. read more

On Sundays, my mother and I have lunch together. She likes Mexican food but her knowledge of places to eat is very limited. Since I like to check out new places I suggested for us to try Lauras Restaurant. It is pretty local to our area and had to see if this could be a new place on my mother's list. We arrived shortly after they opened. There were already a few people inside. Although there was a sign for us to wait to be seated my mom wanted the window seat so she sat down. We were provided a couple of menus and the search for what we wanted was on! My mother has a difficult time with choosing what she wants to order, not to mention her ability to read the menu is getting poor. Looking at photos helps a lot. The menu does have a number of photos per page but none of them were what she was interested in. After figuring out what to order it is now lunch time! I ordered my mom the Crunchy taco + Cheese Enchilada plate while I got the Parrillada. Its a bit simple, but I like to gauge my first tastes on the beans and rice. If that is poppin, my dish is going to be fire! (most times) The beans and rice test passed and onto the meats. Parrillada came with chicken, steak, and shrimp over grilled onions. Pretty much a fajita sampler. Accompanied with some tortillas I went to town. Comparing the meats my fav was the shrimp but all was good. My mother loved her meal and devoured the taco and enchilada. She is supposed to watch her diet but this meal was a free pass as she enjoyed it so much. (I should have included the photo lol) One thing I didn't mention earlier was the decor. I noticed there were a bunch of balloons all around. Not sure if there was any festivities that day or it its like that normally but it was nice to see. I do understand there are happy hours and event nights such as karaoke. Might have to check it out some day. Overall I really enjoyed the meal. This Mexican food restaurant is small but there is ample seating! The restaurant was affordable they have great lunch specials for those on a budget. I got 2 tacos, rice, and beans for $10.99 +tax. The portion size is great the everything had a flavor and tasted well. The owner was inviting and I was served quickly. It was ok for a quick bite if you in the area this is a place that is descent that won't burn you pockets! read more

Went in and came back out, the service is very rude! The place is small with loud karaoke music on weekends. I do not recommend.

Updated review. Please remember to roast the peppers soft enough for the rellenos, today's delivered combination plate, it was undercooked. And the rice was overdry. I really hope next time I order it will be excellent like my first order was in December. The beans,tacos all good. I have seen this place but had never been so my friends and I finally made it in. I had the carnitas dish and it was good. We went on karaoke night (we didn't know) the music was good but the place is small so the music was a bit loud. The service was fair, I wish the waitress was more attentive. I would have to wave her to come gives us refills on drinks and chips. I ordered a burrito to go for my husband and he enjoyed it. I will be coming back but not on Karaoke night. If you enjoy singing go on Friday and Saturday night but if you want to hear the conversation go Sunday - Thursday. The food is good, and so are the drinks. read more

Alright let's start off the the salsa that has no salt and water downed. My man made a comment then I should of listen and ran. I went on to order their seafood mix tostada I got the a fishy stale frozen seafood mix with absolutely no flavor. I poured so much hot sauce and salt to try to eat it but when you can taste the frozen bites I couldn't do it. Found this place from instagram from San Fernando valley eats I think home boy is lying to us. Prices way out of line. Chicken salad, chicken was dry, not worth $13.99. Carne Asada burrito, $15, not worth it. I was sick the next day.

After a long road trip, finally back home, we stopped at lauras. We were greeted by a friendly server, promptly seated and given menus. I ordered a big beer and my mom a big margarita, we shared an el jefe molcajete in which the salsa was bustling with flavor and was filled with chicken, shrimp, fajita veggies, carne asada, queso frescoand nopales. The to go portions are small. I ordered from here in my way home as take out and again on Uber eats. When I got my Uber eats order(chicken enchiladas with rice and bears) it was a lot less food than I thought. I thought I accidentally got a kids order. The beans didn't taste like much, lacked seasoning. The rice was dry. The salsa that comes on the side tasted like it was going bad. So my first time coming here I was at the beginning stage of being sick. Weak and fatigued I crawled my way to Laura's without hearing from anyone except Yelp. Let me just say I felt my strength coming back to me with every bite of soup. The potatoes tasted like a baked potato with butter which I found to be the most interesting thing about the soup. If Benny was here, he would never have allowed this restaurant to take such a nosedive into this ridiculousness. Karaoke is blaring with rude male singers putting their butt in patron's faces while they eat. Its too small of a place to have the volume so loud and having a microphone was so unnecessary. The service is poor and so slow. The food quality has changed drastically. When Benny owned this restaurant, our family used to come every week for many years. We looked forward to his old fashioned greeting, wonderful service, and amazing food. Benny was the best!! Would have rated negative stars but its not an option. Totally disappointed!
