BUT, and there's a big but, super-pricey. However, they do a good job. I got some of my expensive suits dry-cleaned here. Spotless. Pristine. I had a couple of articles of clothing with stains to ingrained, it couldn't come out. They didn't charge me. My mastodon Hoodie jacket had a few tears in the seems they sewed a patch quite nicely. I suppose also that leaving your clothes at Laurel Canyon Cleaners is a good excuse to go to this quiet little nook in the canyon on a regular basis (at least it's quiet on weekends, when commuters aren't using Laurel Canyon Boulevard to avoid the freeway from the Westside to the Valley, and vice versa). The prices are a bit steep for basic steam cleaning, befitting the well-to-do who frequent the place, but overall it's nothing shocking. LCC is neither the cheapest nor most expensive in the land. A full range of services is offered: - dry cleaning/pressing - shoe repair - alterations - suede and leather cleaning - laundry services (you have to ask, though) Although the staff at LCC do a very good job, it's important not to leave your clothes here if you're in a special hurry, because they're not the fastest. They CAN be quick if you require only basic cleaning and specify that you need maximum exigency on their part... -- Otherwise, it's one of those places where you drop something off on Monday, and it's not really safe to expect it ready before Thursday. This is especially true for alterations. If you come to Laurel Canyon Cleaners with the knowledge that they're not especially fast in getting the job done (although the job they do is excellent) you'll stand a far greater chance of being satisfied. It is, after all, in a sleepy neighborhood (as sleepy as Hollywood can get, anyway), and things happen at a slower pace here. This dry cleaners clearly caters to clientele from the canyon. That's a lot of Cs! But Laurel Canyon Cleaners deserves an A, most definitely. If you're in a hurry, try Fame, Fazzio, or Flair. They're F-words, but they deserve As, too. These two ladies are incredible! I frequently have delicate costumes to clean and they've always done a great job, with leather and other sensitive fabrics. They're also great with suits, button downs and everyday wear. I've also used them for simple alterations (hems, buttons, patching up holes, etc) which have all held up really well. The HORRIBLE service I received there today prompted me to create a yelp in order warn others! Yes, they are conveniently located. However, they don't do any of the dry cleaning in-house. They outsource it to some other cleaner and pass their middle man fees onto us. I had two brand new dresses, worn only once, that I had them dry clean. Should be simple enough. Well when I picked them up the first time I noticed all these stains on them that weren't there before. I brought them back in to be cleaned again. Today I went in to pick up my dresses and they were streaked with stain marks and were covered in fuzzballs. I was horrified. They would have turned out better if I had washed them myself in my own washing machine. I just don't understand how these dresses could have gotten so ruined. I asked the front desk woman what happened and she pretended not to see the fuzzballs then said that just happens to cotton - it's not a cotton dress!! She said the stains weren't really stains and that it was just shadows from being wrinkled. What? A dry cleaned garment should never come back to you wrinkled AND it really is stained AGAIN in a different way. The woman just kept making excuses. No apology, no courtesy, no sympathy, no accountability. At one point she actually said she's not going to let MY problem ruin HER day. I just can't believe this. I will NEVER go there again and I sincerely hope no one else goes there either. This dry cleaner gives small Laurel Canyon shops a bad name. read more
