I haven't needed anything cleaned but I've needed alterations twice on sports coats. Both were linen, which is tricky, and they both needed a lot of work. Can't say enough about the quality of the work, the fit suggestions they made, and the fairness of the price. Reliable service! I go here pretty often for hemming, and they're pretty good - I was impressed by my fixed frayed button hole. Front desk service is quick and they're pretty patient here. I was surprised how expensive it is. There's price board any where and I tried sending a question via yelp without reply. I paid $40 for a wool coat and $18.50 for each sweater. I asked another cleaners near buy and they were less expensive. Person working wasn't friendly or rude but he wasn't very welcoming. I'm not coming back. Paying 1/4 the price of the coat for cleaning isn't worth it. At least they have their own parking. read more

I brought two pair of Levi's for standard hemming since I bought the wrong length for the jeans (34L instead of 32L). When I checked in with the person up front I asked how much the charge would be for hemming. The person picked up the jeans, checked them into the computer asked me the length I needed and then gave me a pick up receipt. Unfortunately I did not ask again as I did not expect the service to exceed what in my mind was a reasonable price for a cut and sew. Upon checking back in two days (I wasn't told they were ready), my total was $52. I understand I should've been more clear on requesting the price prior to leaving my jeans there but in my personal opinion the cost was pretty substantial. The hem in my opinion was very basic. (* I edited the star rating on my review because my goal is not to harm the business but perhaps rather improve on communication and pricing - I understand the economy is tough and don't mean to disrespect anyone's craft.) read more

This place is way overpriced!!! $34 for a men's suit. That's insane. But the counter guy was friendly.

I brought in a used acetate and cupro blend velvet jacket and a stained dress shirt that features intricate buttons and paneling. The jacket was the main concern. It features a purposefully crinkly texture, and the blend is an odd one. Doing some research, I've noticed both of the fabrics for the jacket require specific care to avoid damage or shrinkage. The liner also features viscose which is also susceptible to shrinkage. And it had that used clothing stench combined with some body odor from the prior owner in the pits area. The dress shirt had a few stains around the collar but some fabric ironing spray stains from a hotel stay. Suffice it to say, both items were needing some TLC but need the right TLC. I gave this spot a go because of the reviews and hoped that they'd accept both items but also handle them with the necessary care. I made a big point about the blend when dropping off, and the guy at the counter kindly took it and asked the cleaner what they could do. After a quick evaluation and pricing, I felt pretty confident they'd do the job. And voila! Not only were both items cleaned of any smell and stains, but they came back in like - new condition. The velvet / velour jacket retained its unique properties while also feeling 10x more soft than when I dropped it off. And the dress shirt was saved from what I feared were unsalvageable stains. They also had the items ready in a little less than 24 hours. It was one the pricier side, but not as crazy as some other spots I checked out. Highly recommend if you have any cherished (but delicate) items you want clean without the worry of them being damaged. read more

Update: The new proprietor of Village Cleaners reached out to me and reminded me that the last time I was there, in April, I had two pants drycleaned. One of them came back without a back button. I've updated the review accordingly. It seems they completely changed ownership and crews at the turn of the year. I wish them the best. This relationship started so well, but alas, it's time to break up. I have a lot of tailoring that needs to be dry cleaned, so I was excited to find such a highly rated cleaner in my area, right in my price point. After the first visit, I couldn't have been happier. Village was quick, and my suits and trousers were in excellent condition. Unfortunately, on the second trip, the wheels started to fall off. They cleaned a dress shirt, but they left it riddled with wrinkles. Mistakes happen, and I can be forgiving. On the third trip, they did it again and popped a button on a pair of trousers. Sometimes breakups in new relationships are hard. Not in this case. I'll head across the street to some of the other fish in the sea. read more

Many years ago, my brother bought me my first ever sports jersey... A $100 US men's soccer Clint Dempsey jersey. I wore it to a World Cup game at a bar and proceeded to get very drunk. When I woke up the white jersey was covered in stains ranging from beer to coffee. I threw it in a plastic bag and always meant to take it to a dry cleaner.... Then five years passed, and it still sat in that plastic bag. I had heard good things about Village cleaners, and decided I should take it there. The man at the counter told me that it would take a couple of days, but he felt like they could probably get everything out. I told him that I understood, and I asked him to just do the best they could...Three days later I went to pick it up, and it was good as new. I could not believe my eyes... It was sparkling white, in mint condition. Now I take all my tough cleaning jobs to village cleaners, and I recommend them to everyone I know. It's true, their prices are a tad higher than other places, but their work speaks for itself. I got my dry cleaning done here for the first time, as I've had trouble finding a close dry cleaner that does a good job. They are all extremely expensive, and Village Cleaners may be the most expensive. That said, they do a good job.
