We put our loved one in this SNF when it became apparent that she needed more care than what we could realistically offer her. When arriving here it may not look like much, but its the people that work here that make it great. I would say the best experiences have been with some of the staff. I honestly can say our first experience was the tour of the facility. We were taken through the hallways by Carolina. She happens to sit in the front office when you enter and she greeted us with a warm smile. She took us through and eased all of our concerns. Honestly after touring two other places, this one felt like the best fit for us. In the coming weeks, it has been Carolina who has gone above and beyond and deserves recognition! Upon arrival for our loved one, it felt like a huge disconnect from the hospital to the facility. There was no process to keep my loved one out of pain so immediately. Fortunately we worked with the staff and the doctor on site and we resolved the matter promptly. After a month of my loved one being here, I am still very happy with the facility. My loved one is a picky eater so we are in and out of the facility daily. We wanted a place that could care for her daily needs and partner with us to make this place a home away from home. We are able to work with the staff to get her to medical appointments, get her out on pass for several hours. In addition they have Ressurection Eucharistic Ministers bring communion to them on Sundays. I just want to say there are additional individuals who have been easy to work with; Rebecca, Jocelyn, Deli, Della, Mable, Saul, Ana and of course DON-Kat! I can say there are others too, but I dont know that we know their names yet. I am happy we found this hidden gem so close to our home. read more

The staff may be nice, but they are understaff and not really knowing what they're doing, when a person is a diabetic, they feed them juice, sugary garbage diet is what my friend gets.. My opinion on this facility is very pleasant, I had a family member there for a few weeks and for those few weeks there were very nice, the staff was friendly . the place looks old but kept up nicely, though my family member was incredibly sick and didn't make it , going there every day I didn't experience a bad moment with the staff. We were welcomed any time of the day or night. Going through a sad experience is hard enough but this facility and staff were very caring. read more

My Mother in Law, Anna Marie, spent a couple of weeks recovering from knee surgery at Laurel Wellness and Nursing center. She was very grateful for the exceptional care she received. From the moment she arrived, the staff made her feel safe, supported, and genuinely cared for--even while she was bedridden and extremely anxious about being in this environment. The nurses were compassionate, patient, and always arrived with a smile. They listened to her concerns and never made her feel like a burden, even on the toughest days. Their kindness and consistency gave her the strength to push through recovery with more hope and determination. While she wasn't a fan of the meals, she appreciated that food was always offered. More importantly, her bed was kept clean, which made a huge difference in her comfort and peace of mind. She felt seen, respected, and uplifted throughout her stay--and that's not something she expected. She was overall pleased with the facility and the staff. read more

Terrible care! My grandmother was in the facility and left with red bumps and her genitalia red and swollen to the point where she was in so much pain. We would visit her everyday and it still happened we would tell nurses several times to change her and it was apparent she was not changed. It's extremely sad because we trust these "nurses" to care for our loved ones to only find out they just don't care and rather see them in pain. If I could give zero ratings I would. read more

My grandmother was here and they didn't take care of her.. her bed sheets were always dirty and bloody.. no one ever came and checked on her she was so dirty from her face.. they neglected her so much she had a injury on her butt from not moving at all and always being in the bed that have her buttocks was off from serious infection.. please don't bring your loved ones here they don't care and it's just a paycheck to them.. they will let them die. read more

I would not recommend this facility to anyone for their loved one. My grandfather was placed here for physical therapy for a few months after a hospitalization for intestinal issues that required intubation and majorly affected his strength. this facility never changed his catheter 1 time. They gave him physical therapy maybe 4 times a in a month, while they're being paid to do it daily. They did not care for him in the manner you would expect of a nursing home. He was later hospitalized again while under their care for a UTI that had gone septic, he spent 3 weeks in the ICU and his condition had rapidly declined in their care. kaiser hospital had informed us that this facility never changed his catheter, he got a horrible infection and that was the reason he was septic, there are bugs everywhere, walls that have not been painted in years, televisions have no remotes, and there is constantly other patients screaming for a nurse at all hours. we removed him from the facility and relocated him. This establishment need to be investigated for elderly abuse. They should be ashamed of how they treat people parents and grandparents. read more

This is a very unprofessional place. Recruitment called and made interview appointment. I got there on time. He tells me the position is filled. If I want to continue with my interview for the second position I applied for , take a seat and wait. Five minutes pass, a man walks past me, then recruiter said that this is the administrator and is leaving, DON just left and DSD has been gone. Why do they think it's ok to treat people like they're nothing. What was the point of appointment. Disrespectful, I hope they treat current employees, residents better. 0 STARS. These positive reviews are either very old, very fake, or have loved ones there who require nothing but a roof and a bed. The nurses are rude, do not answer questions (that the staff answering the phone can log in to the chart and answer - but not the nurse???) and more importantly the nurses intentionally lie in charting to cover either themselves or the facility. My loved one was there for less than a few days and their health DECLINED SIGNIFICANTLY (weight loss, sleep disruption, lack of care or compassion, medication mismanagement, and so much more). As a loved one, it was difficult to get anyone even on the phone most of the time (wait times, or placed on hold that just ends up looping back to the front desk that lasts for upwards of 20 minutes each time, having to call back multiple times because they are so quick to hang up your concerns arent even addressed). I've had my brother in a few convalescent facilities and by far Laurel Wellness is the best. It is always clean, the staff are professional and courteous, and I am always promptly informed if there is ever a change in my brother's condition. Beautiful facility with caring and compassionate staff. Building has a traditional and cozy feel to it, with management doing a fantastic job making continuous improvement. The professional staff do a great job of caring for the sick, elderly, and people that need a quick turn around through their well developed Rehabilitation program. The facility has a very diverse population and everyone seems to be very welcoming and open minded. I have nothing but great things to say about Laurel Wellness & Nursing Center. read more

Laurel is an amazing facility, what makes the difference there is the angels that work there! They are professional, efficient, kind, caring and always go above and beyond for the residents. My mother was very sick when she came there, she is now healthy, alert and very happy! They really look out for the residents best interest at all times, the place is clean, decorated very cute, food is tasty and they cater to residents nutrition needs. Their activities director Maria is amazing, she creates an exciting fun environment for the residents. They keep me informed on any changes regarding my mother and have quarterly meetings to go over my mother progress. I am so thankful I found Laurel, I have peace of mind my mother is getting the best care with the wonderful staff at Laurel. read more

Horrible place! My grandfather was sent to this facility following a few months in the ICU. His ONLY purpose for being there was physical therapy to get him walking again. NOT ONCE did they even attempt to stand him up. You can never get help from a nurse. My pops poor roommate (on hospice) pressed his call button and no one came to help him. After 30 minutes we went to see why that man had not been helped. He could have been dying for all they know. They don't care about anything or anyone. They do not change the patients nearly as often as they should. I walked in several times to my grandpa laying in a diaper SOAKED in urine. They also took every single collar of his income without my knowledge ( I am DPOA ). The house is getting very close to foreclosure because of the money they STOLE from him. FOR WHAT? To leave him in a bed 24 hours a day to suck up that money until he dies? The food is essentially rotten. I have seen several things served to him that I wouldn't even feed to an animal! I had to get him out of that place... So I did. They sent me home with only 5 days of meds for him, which has turned into another issue seeing as his Dr is booked out for 2 weeks. Lydia (the administrator) is an incompetent, heartless, sneaky, money-hungry bitch. WAY understaffed. Don't send your loved ones here under any circumstances. This place leaves people to die. They even went as far as to create online accounts for my grandfather's retirement and other incomes (he's NEVER used the online services) and changed his direct deposit info, and all without my consent. I am taking further action as far as their benign negligence and fraud for taking every last dollar from him with no authorization to do so. read more

This is a very poor quality facility , unhealthy , none qualified staff including the nurses , it takes for ever to have patients change and get their medication , they said they take dementia patients and they can't handle them when they have episodes apparently they don't know what dementia it's all about , I had my mother there for only 2 weeks and she gets violent from her dementia and they called the cops on her like she was a crazy person knowing that this is part of her dementia ,I won't recommend no one to leave their love ones , it's a very unprofessional place . read more

My grandfather was under the care of Dr Ashok during his stay here and we are extremely pleased. He was very attentive and really takes time to get to know his patients. My father was placed at this facility after being hospitalized for about 6 weeks. When we first got him here he himself and I as well liked it, it seemed clean and the nurses seemed pretty attentive. That faded pretty fast and in no time my father was so medicated on the daily that he couldn't function. Did he need all these pain meds? NO however, all he had to do is ask and they would give him another pill to pop. He fell on multiple occasions and wasn't treated for his injuries. They showered him maybe three times in the three weeks he was there and don't even let me get started on the food. It was awful, their humans not animals! Once I got him out of this place I took him to an ER and there was multiple things they found on him that the facility over looked even when I kept asking for them to get a doctor to look at these specific things. There was a few ladies that work here that helped with paper work when needed but other then that the staff is not helpful, the ladies who cleaned the rooms payed more attention to the patients then the nurses did. read more
