Over the years I've completed quite a few real estate transactions-thirty or more. I've had my fair share of interaction with realtors. Fortunate for me most of them were knowledgeable, honest, friendly and prompt. Yes, some occasional bad apples too, but that goes for any profession. I looked up Lauren from Yelp in the summer of 2016 when we decided to move from the Bay Area to the Greater Sacramento area. We corresponded a few times before we took our first two-hour drive trip for the viewing tour. Throughout the inquiry process she came across as prompt, responsive and consistently informative. We had looked at a dozen or so houses but to suit our desired floor plan we ended up picking an empty lot to build a new semi-custom home from a national developer. As expected, due to the nature of this particular transaction, it was rather straight forward and uneventful. Then it came time to look for an investment property in the Folsom area. We went through numerous listings and crunched the ROI on them. Lauren came up with two suggestions that turned out to be strategically crucial: find the property with the least HOA/Mello-Roos and refocus our search from Folsom to Roseville/Rocklin area for higher ROI. Due to our stringent ROI criteria, we made offers on two separate properties but neither was successful. In June, we finally found and successfully closed on our third attempt on the rental property. Our on-and-off property search has taken from October last year to June this year. All in all, we have looked at about 40 properties. Throughout the process Lauren was always equipped with insight and information. Knowing that we were not familiar with the Sacramento market she would warm us up gradually with the local rules and thoughtful remarks. She was pleasant and patient during the search/negotiating stage; and supportive when things disappointingly flopped and all the diligence went down the drain. The property we purchased has its fair share of repair issues. Lauren had not only negotiated a repair credit from the Sellers, again being aware that we were new to the local scene, she took the initiative to oversee the repair with her handyman/repair connections. All the repair issues were monitored/handled smoothly despite she was away on vacation for a week immediately after the close! I could go on and on about how efficient somebody is. But Lauren is more than just being efficient or knowledgeable. There are many good agents out there who are efficient and knowledgeable too. Yet Lauren has excelled way beyond that. She would not hesitate to take the extra step. She possesses some unique quality which I call, for lack of a better term, genuine caring and serving. Doing things right for her client, not because she needs to, but something she believes in, which is beyond the checklist and the regular call of duty. And that's Lauren! I am glad I found her. Lauren is nothing short of amazing. She helped us sell our home in Rancho Cordova in November/December which is typically a slower time of year. She started by sitting down with us and really getting to know what our situation was and what our goals were with regard to the sale and everything it might impact. Once she knew what we wanted, she did everything within her power (and some things beyond her power) to get us everything we wanted. When it came to pricing the home, she did a ton of research and recommended a selling price. It was actually higher than we thought the house was worth. We're so glad we listened to her and priced our home at the price she recommended. Next, she put us in contact with professionals to help clean up and repair our home so that it would have the best possible showing. Her cleaners were great and affordable. The same can be said for the glass cleaning and repair company she connected us with. Her handy man was the best of all of them. He repaired all the small issues that showed up in the pest report for a very minimal fee. Once the house was cleaned up, she staged the home with her own collection of staging furniture and fixtures. This really made the house pop in both the photos and when potential buyers visited the home. She held two open houses for two consecutive weekends to ensure that the house got as much exposure as possible. The home wasn't on the market long when we got an excellent offer at asking price (exactly where Lauren said the price should be). This was despite the slowing housing marked due to the time of year and holidays. After we accepted the offer, Lauren made the escrow process go very smoothly. Both us and the buyer wanted to close as soon as possible. There were no hangups thanks to Lauren. She sent us all of our paperwork via docusign since we had moved far away that allowed us to sign it all electronically without having to worry about faxes and mail. If there is one thing that I wish I could change, it would be for her to move to Southern California so that she could represent us for our next home purchase. If you are in the market for a real estate agent to help you either buy or sell your home, you should definitely have Lauren represent you. She's the best in the business! read more

How can I adequately put into words how fortunate we are to have such an excellent real estate agent! We searched the internet for real estate agent recommendations, and also had a referral from a friend for another agent. We decided to contact and interview 3 different agents. Lauren was the best! She didn't seem to have an agenda for us, or some 3 month timeline for us like the agent our friend referred us to did. Lauren does not make you sign a contract upfront... because she is amazing. You will WANT to stick with her. Being newer to the area and first time home buyers, we wanted to make sure we met with a real estate agent early on and had someone who could answer our questions, even before we were ready to buy. WHY? Because, we wanted to have an idea of where we might plan on living, how much we really wanted to spend on a home, and gain as much knowledge as we could. Months after meeting with her initially, we thought we'd like to start looking to see some homes, even though we were still thinking about moving a year from that time. Lauren was fully invested in helping us through our process, and she was super informative. (Some new builds can take up to 6-8 months to build so we definitely wanted to be ahead of the game, and waiting lists are also a thing. Also, I'm not an impulse buyer and need to do research before making a decision.) Well, after touring several homes we found a great fixer upper, and then a week later the pandemic happened, and then interest rates went down, and so did the price of the house... and things just aligned. We got into a house much sooner than we thought we were going to and we feel like we are HOME! Honestly, I've known other realtors that a family member had, I have heard stories from friends, we even witnessed the poor representation the seller of our home had... you do not want just any agent. Choose Lauren. Lauren is THE REAL DEAL! She gets it. She is patient, approachable, professional and extremely impressive. I am so glad I chose Lauren to be my real estate agent to help me through the home buying process. This isn't my first rodeo so to speak so I have had experience with quite a few real estate agents. Lauren is the best by far. Not only is Lauren excellent at her job, she is a joy to work with. At our first meeting, she explained the process of searching for a home and she gave me a folder that contained some very useful and well organized information regarding the neighborhoods in Folsom and a step by step guide from prequalifying for a loan to getting your keys. Being a buyer in a seller's market was quite a challenge, but Lauren was up for the task. She was the most responsive professional I have had the pleasure of dealing with which is especially important in a crazy sellers market. She responded to every email, text or phone call almost immediately. When a house came on the market that I wanted to see, she made sure I was able to see it asap. When looking at houses, she had a good eye for finding defects or drawbacks of the property which helped me make an informed decision. When I wanted to make an offer, she provided comparables and shared her knowledge on how to make a strong offer in a multiple offer situation while not pressuring me in any way to go beyond my comfort zone. My comfort zone was not quite as big as others who bid on 3 houses that I put offers in, but the fourth one was a charm! After my offer was accepted, Lauren was excellent in helping the process move along by following up with the multiple moving parts of inspections, appraisals, loan contingencies, etc. I was very impressed that she was there with me during the inspection appointments. Can't say enough about how happy we were working with Lauren to find a new Folsom home for our growing family. To say the least - we were picky. Very Picky. This was going to be the home that our kids grew up in. We have lived in Folsom for 10+ years and knew it very well, knew exactly what we wanted and where we wanted it. But in a tough market, It took us 10 months to finally find what we wanted. And Lauren was there every step of the way. The plan was to sell my house and purchase another, and I can say with all confidence that I could not have chosen a better realtor to facilitate both sales. We were introduced to Lauren Schenke by Brent Wilson, our lender who has worked with our family for several years. It took only a brief meeting with her at her Folsom office to determine that she was the right realtor for us. Lauren's professionalism, warmth, accessibility, and attention to detail made her a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Anytime we contacted her with a question about the process, she provided us with an immediate response that was always thorough; and during those rare occasions when she did not have an immediate answer, she always followed up with a timely response and/or directed to where we could find the answer to our question. At one point during escrow, the seller's agent submitted some paperwork for us to sign off on, but Lauren noted that all of what the seller agreed to have serviced in the pest inspection report had not been addressed. Lauren Schenke is, hands down, THE BEST realtor out there. We bought our first home in April of 2012, when the market was pretty crazy. We actually started out using a different realtor, who had been in the business for quite some time and was pretty well known around the area. She turned out to be super pushy and unprofessional, basically telling us that we would never find the home we were looking for at the price we were willing to pay. So, we parted ways and started working with Lauren. A friend of mine had recommended her and her references just couldn't say enough nice things about her. I cannot say enough about Lauren! She made our home buying experience less stressful, positive, and smooth. My wife and I began looking for our first home and everyone we talked to said it would be one of the most difficult things we would ever do . I found Lauren on Yelp and decided to give her a call, she called back within 30 minutes and met with me the next day. Lauren is such a pro! We found Lauren in late 2014 from all the great Yelp reviews and I sent her an email describing our upcoming house-hunt in the Folsom area. We were relocating from Texas and wanted an experienced, knowledgeable, intelligent(!) professional to guide us through our house search. We were so happy we used Lauren. Lauren is super responsive and sent me lots of information on the housing inventory market, prices and trends. She responds to any email I sent her very quickly regarding a question on a home's location, price, pros/cons. She is great about pointing out things that might be a concern for a buyer - we really appreciated that (like street noise, acreage that isn't ideal, distance from good schools, parks, etc). She's not a 'sales-y' realtor like others I met. We never felt rushed - and in fact, she encouraged us to take our time and not hurry into purchasing too soon based on fear of the market or anxiety. Lauren worked with my wife and I for both a sale and purchase. I wish there was a reason for us to use her again but when you finally find your dream home you hope it's your last. Our sale and purchase was complicated due my work location and travel but Lauren was available at all hours to help and guide us through the process. She walked my wife through every step of the process and truly acted as our champion. On the sale, she worked with us to find the right selling price and we had a full price offer on the first day and multiple offers by day 2. We accepted the first offer which meant that she SOLD OUR HOUSE IN 6 HOURS! Our neighbors loved her because our house is now the highest comparable on the street. My wife and I were looking to relocate to the Folsom area from the South Bay this year. Lauren's info was passed to me through my mom, after she had been a huge help in selling my grandmothers home when she made the biggest and hardest decision to move to a retirement community.
