Terry was so accommodating with my last minute resizing engagement ring appointment call and superbly experienced on what he does! I got the whole workshop experience and the resizing was done all in person! It usually takes about two weeks to get it back resized at other shops in addition to making the appointment. They corrected it during the session - so fast! It was so grand and I was amazed at the process! It's like making a fancy watch from scratch! There's the melting, fire play, smoothing out the band that seemingly looked like what you would see for dental teeth cleaning, polishing and making it shine! One has to make sure that there are no bumps throughout the band, otherwise, the process has to be done from step 1 and all over again! I initially came to Lauren on an appraising mission after finding her through the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers, and that conversation led to a discussion of how to repurpose some of these family heirlooms into jewelry I would actually wear. Specifically, an engagement ring and wedding bands. Lauren was SO thorough and provided me and my (now) fiancé with so much information, and we are so grateful. I'm certain she spent over 5 hours with us, between phone calls, emails back and forth to understand what we were looking for, and in-person (COVID-safe) appointments. Not only did she totally understand our visions, but she was transparent about pricing and helped us find ways to work with our budget. I was lucky to have a family diamond and a number of smaller diamonds from other pieces of jewelry, and she suggested that rather than designing something from scratch (especially since what I wanted was a more simple design), to find an existing setting that would fit my stones. Genius! I also had a bracelet that Lauren transformed into our wedding bands. For mine, she took special care to make sure that it would fit well and sit flush with my engagement ring, and with my fiancé's she provided lots of examples of hammered styles to help him visualize what his final product would look like. Lauren is our expert when it came to our wedding jewelry, and because of her expertise, I am wearing something unique and beautiful that I am immeasurably proud of. Not only did Lauren source the perfect sapphire stone, at our first meeting (and by this point, we had gone to dozens of jewelry stores and looked at almost a hundred sapphire options), her prices are super reasonable, and not above retailers, mass nor boutique. I have not for a moment not been blown away by my unique engagement ring: an emerald cut sapphire set to a band made of straight baguette diamonds. I can't believe how incredibly lucky my husband and I were to find Terry and Lauren. With their guidance, patience, and knowledge of precious stones and rings we were able to custom design both my engagement ring and our wedding bands~ we love them so much! They let me know it needed appraising first in case something happened to it (2 weeks). Then they'd resize it (another 2 weeks). I asked why it takes a month and the sales associate informed me that since they have to send it out to many people, it would take at least that long. I wasn't feeling it. So I reached out to Lauren for an appraisal so I could at least cut out 2 weeks of the Zales timeline. She did it w/n 40-45 minutes, educating me along the way. She then told me she could not only resize the ring for me, but also restore it (the ring needed some work). She said it'd take 1 week (whaaaaaaa?) I am so happy to have found her! I completely trusted her with my mom's ring - something this important and the only thing I have of her shouldn't just be passed off from a random person to another. I worked with Lauren and Terry on a custom cocktail ring (after finding them via Yelp reviews - thank you Yelpers!) and it was wonderful experience end to end. I would work with them again without question and have already recommended them to multiple friends. This is the first Yelp review I've ever written but I was so happy with the process and outcome I couldn't help but share. Something I feel differentiates Lauren from others in the industry is her genuine dedication to clients. She was willing to meet me outside of her normal business hours for a design consultation / gem selection given my lack of flexibility during the week, and even met me at her office the day after Christmas to deliver my ring as she knew a was eager to receive the finished product! Regarding the custom design and gem selection process, I felt as though I was in very capable, trustworthy hands. Lauren has years of experience and it really comes through - she gave honest and sound advice on gem quality / characteristics (something I admittedly didn't know much about) and it was comforting to work with someone so knowledgeable when making a large investment in a keepsake piece. Lauren also never came across as pretentious in any way - she was extremely friendly and capable of working within my defined budget and was even willing to get creative on the design / materials in case I wanted more financial flexibility. She was transparent about pricing and included a wide range of cuts / colors and materials during my gem consultation which I really appreciated. From a design perspective, I'm sure the process varies from client to client. I came to her knowing pretty much exactly what I wanted. Lauren listened and guided, and allowed me to orchestrate the design process. She had me pick the center stone in person and created the design around that, and I really enjoyed discussing the gem qualities with her and getting to select a stone that really spoke to me. My finished ring is literally as if Lauren took my idea out of my head and made in tangible (but even better than what I had imagined!) I am admittedly extremely particular and precise, and I felt like that attention to detail was matched if not surpassed by Lauren. I never felt like my ideas, adjustments or thoughts were burdensome. One other thing I want to note - the quality and relative price of the piece I created with Lauren far surpassed anything comparable I had browsed (designer or otherwise). Definitely worth it to go custom, end up with a one of a kind piece, and get way more bang for you buck! After my ring was made, I was able to come in and watch Terry add a couple of finishing touches to customize the fit on my finger. His depth of knowledge of this industry is equally as incredible as Lauren's, and it was very apparent how passionate he is about it. I was pretty nervous the first time I met Lauren; I wasn't too sure what to expect. I don't wear much jewelry and I'm not into extravagant pieces but after my husband and I got engaged I knew I wanted my ring to be special. (A little back story: my husband and I got engaged on my birthday, took me to Monterey to go skydiving which turned out to be a diversion for his proposal. After jumping out of a plane, I parachuted down to, "WILL YOU MARRY ME, MEGAN" written in 5ft pink letters on the ground. I was shocked and we were both amazed at how beautiful the whole day was, so when I told him I wanted to design my engagement ring he wasn't the slightest bit surprised. That being said; we heard from a friend to shop around before diving into designing a ring with some retail jeweler company. So I did my homework; learned about the 4 C's, determined what was in my price range, and researched who I'd be investing my time in and if they're GIA accredited. That's when I found Lauren O. Inc. Lauren was extremely polite and very friendly; and wanted to know me and my husband first. It wasn't long before it felt like I was chatting with one my girlfriends. Instead of asking what I wanted and working around that, she started our relationship by educating both my husband and I about diamonds. There was so much more to designing a ring than I thought. The 4 C's, GIA grading report, terminology, differences between genuine and synthetic diamonds, comparisons of certain cuts relative to their quality... the list is endless of how much we learned. I thought I'd walk out of her office with a ring that day but she wanted to ensure we knew exactly what we were investing in before making any sort of purchase, from her or anyone else. In the following week she emailed me all different types of ring designs, CAD designs, and quotes. Lauren had a pretty good idea of what I was looking for and was ready with samples by our next appointment. Next came the hard part; The options I could have were endless; the diamond, the setting, band, any custom work, alternate options with different stones...etc. Then there was price range. Lauren offered options that were brilliant, encompassed what I liked, and well within our price range. That was one of the best parts; she made the whole process seem so less stressful than it probably would have been going to a retailer. She did everything possible to get what I wanted into one ring, and then gave me quality options of that ring in different budget ranges.
