Instead, I was given false expectations and wasted time based on information that was not accurate. I find this type of business practice concerning. If something as basic as an office closure is not communicated honestly, it raises questions about what else may not be handled with transparency. I would not recommend this office.

He also ran an autoimmune panel that revealed genetic variations affecting implantation testing my prior doctors never pursued. He immediately recommended PGT testing, which finally gave us answers. He also listened to my concerns about timing during retrieval. This time, we waited one extra day--and the results were life-changing: 11 eggs retrieved, 9 mature, 7 blasts, and 5 genetically normal embryos. In November, we transferred two embryos. After reaching out, my initial appointment was abruptly canceled about a week in advance. I later discovered that what I believed to be a local office was actually a call center. At no point did anyone explain how their scheduling works, that offices operate independently, or that doctors are independent providers. I was eventually rescheduled at the Laguna Hills location. When I arrived, the receptionist was unfriendly and immediately informed me of a $99 consultation fee. I had no issue paying this fee, had it been disclosed beforehand--which it was not. When I raised this concern, I was told that the doctor I paid the consultation fee for would be the only doctor who could treat me if I moved forward. If our personalities or approach did not align, I would be required to pay an additional consultation fee to see another doctor. That is an unacceptable business practice. To make matters worse, I was told that the person responsible for explaining financing and costs would not be available for another day or two, meaning I could not even receive a proper quote during my visit. I intentionally carved time out of my busy schedule for what is a very emotional and important decision in my life, only to leave feeling frustrated, disappointed, and misled. I will not be returning to this facility or any of its affiliates, and I would strongly caution others to be very clear about fees, scheduling, and expectations before booking an appointment.

I went through two IVF cycles with this doctor, and both experiences were extremely upsetting. During my first egg retrieval, the doctor arrived about 1.5 hours late, and I had already ovulated by the time he arrived. The second retrieval was even worse. The anesthesia was not sufficient, and I woke up in the middle of the egg retrieval in excruciating pain. This was one of the most terrifying and painful medical experiences I have ever had. What happened afterward was almost as upsetting as the procedure itself. When I told the doctor how much pain I had experienced, instead of showing concern or taking my complaint seriously, he laughed and told me I was "too sensitive." Dr. Lin mocked me for being unable to tolerate the pain. Seriously? I PAID FOR ANESTHESIA. I was not complaining about a minor discomfort. I woke up during an invasive procedure and was in extreme pain. I expected the doctor to listen, acknowledge what happened, and take my concerns seriously. Instead, I felt mocked, humiliated, and completely dismissed. A doctor's experience does not excuse a lack of compassion or respect for a patient's suffering. When a patient wakes up during an invasive procedure in severe pain, the appropriate response is to take that pain seriously--not to laugh at the patient or suggest that they are simply "too sensitive." Patients deserve safe care, appropriate pain management, and to be treated with dignity and respect. After I told my family and friends what happened, every single one of them was shocked and told me I should consider taking legal action. Based on my personal experience, I would strongly recommend that anyone considering IVF think very carefully before choosing this doctor. For me, trust, communication, proper pain management, and basic compassion are non-negotiable--and unfortunately, I did not feel that I received those things here.

IVF wasn't an option since it is a financial stressor as well as something that didn't align with my values. IVF isn't a 100% success rate or guarantee you will be blessed with a baby. Going with more holistic approach will save you a ton of money and you will learn a lot about your health and body. I encourage you to listen to Dr. Rubal on several podcasts before hand so you can gain a sense of how much it may cost you vs IVF and compare the success rates between the two approaches. Please keep in mind, Dr. Rubal in a one woman show, so it may take 2-3 weeks for her to get back to your initial message. He makes sure everything is perfect before diving into the next step and no wonder they have such good success rates :) The lab team is also so nice and experienced, Dr. Asemi was able to fertilize 9 high-grade embryos for us despite my low egg quality due to PCOS. She also patiently answered tons of questions before we chose the embryo. The nurses (Maria and Liz) are both so supportive and welcoming the whole time, making me feel much less anxious during the IVF treatment. They even have a direct line which patients could call them for any questions after work hours. I can't appreciate them more.
